Anyone got any tips on completing HT-15 for the Stug with a T29 or IS? I don't have the luxury of an E-100, The722 smile

Edit - and grats from me too, Justin.

2nd Edit - mission is 6000hp damaged, blocked and spotted, combined.

had a game last night when we got completely slaughtered on fiery salient

Our 6 tank medium wolf pack should have been able to steam roll the left flank.

But the Unicum in the T62a was raging.

post battle results

enemy Object 140 got 10200 spotting damage, yes you read that right, 10200 spotting.

It's 6,000 hp caused, received and blocked. No spotting damage, but your tank's health counts towards it. That's about 1,200 hp for the IS and T29 if you die at the end.

I can't see you doing it with the IS. It's a good tank, but not that bouncy. The T29 could only do it if you go hull down & bait people into shooting your turret front. Maybe something like the hill on Prokorovka or the banana road on Himmelsdorf. Keep rocking back and forward and waggling the turret between shots so they can't hit your commander's hatch weak point easily.

Here's what the Centurion Action X looks like:

That does look interesting.

I'm on the tier 8 Centurion at the moment. TBH I prefer it to the T44. It's not as agile but I like the bouncy turret and the top gun is much better than the T44 one.

Gun depression is a bit of a pain on the T-44.

Interestingly, the tier 8 Caernarvon will get the same turret as the Action X (with the 20 pounder gun of course) as its top turret.

It'll also be the stock turret on the Conqueror.

Out of the STA-1 now, a tank I had pretty much stopped enjoying by the end, but still finished it with a 58% win rate, despite feeling that the last few days of hard grinding had been productive in terms of XP but terrible in terms of wins. It suffers from Leopard 1 syndrome, where the opposition will avoid shooting priority target to remove guns from the field in order to shoot at the soft medium where practically any hit from any gun can penetrate it. Coupled to that, I seem have had a terrible run of MM in it, every other match was propping up a tier X game and being top tier was rare.

The Type 61 looks fun, but I'll need about 100,000xp or so total to get the 105mm rifled gun. It gets the Type 61 gun from the STA-61 with 10rpm vs 8 stock, going up to 12rpm once the Type 61 turret is unlocked, so the DPM should be quite good, but the punch of the 105mm gun is what I really need.

The struggle is real! Grinding away the M40/43 seems to be so bloody hit or miss, in recent games I have one shotted from full health an IS7, T32 and an AMX50-100. I realise they've probably called me everything under the sun as they go crying back to the garage but fk me am I paying for it! Today with Mastodon2 we had Ruinberg war (WTF did we do to deserve this st heap of a map?!), followed by Ensk then Himmilsdorf, never have I had such st matchmaking in my SPGs. At least he got his new tank and I'm only 130k XP from the M53/55.

After much effort I finally managed to do LT mission 10 for the T28 HTC today.

Two light and one medium mission to go!

Well done. I've still got loads to do for the T28 HTC.

LT 13 - 15

MT 12 - 15

TD 12 - 15

SPG 5 - 15 bandit

HT 12, 13 and 15 (I did HT14 with a Top Gun from the T57 Heavy)

I also sold my British DerpenCruiser II and got the DerpenSherman III instead. I used free XP to get there as I really don't fancy the tanks before it. It's been a while since I've played a Sherman, but I did like the US one.

God the tier 7 British arty is a total pile of ste.

I'm 20K off the tier 8 but I'm losing the will to live with it and, from what I've read, the tier 8 isn't a whole lot better.

Maybe I'll be better not bothering with this line and just staying at the FV304.

I didn't like the Crusader SP much either, but other people seem to enjoy it. Personally I stopped the line there and decided that my big & british fetish was better served by this:

183mm of they don't like it up em, and much less RNG. Fair enough you can't shoot over things, but after games like this you don't care. 8 shots, 6 kills, 7.2k damage and it would have been ~8k if the T95 I was helping didn't just take 750 odd damage off the IS4 before I hit him again (for 8 damage with a 1150 av dmg SP shell weeping). It's very very evil and doesn't quite get the same level of hate that SPG's do. It's not a great line to grind, but every now and again the 183 is very worth it.

That new Centurion Action X looks interesting, the new speed limit is a step-change from the FV4202. Personally I've never seen the FV4202 as strong enough in other areas to really warrant such a low top speed for a medium, it must be bloody annoying to play. I found it frustrating in supertest as it never felt like it was really shifting and then just hit the limiter. The gun is good, the tank itself is small an the gun depression is good too but the turret is pretty weak - looks like the Action X continues some traits of the FV4202 at least. A swap to a premium HEAT round will bring smiles to some faces. As it will likely be 6-9 months at least before the line comes to the Xbox, I may well try to get an FV4202 of my own.

The FV4202, like the M48 Patton, is a "weak" tier 10 medium that can do well by way of the fact it's a medium. The Centurion looks like it could be a stronger package but doesn't look like it will be troubling the Russian dominance.

I had one game with the Centurion Action X on the test server & it seems pretty good. The 10 degrees of gun depression is really nice and the gun handling is fine. I got some spotting damage, beat up a few tanks & had time to HESH a WTF E100 for 500+ damage. Unfortunately, as soon as the game ended the server reset, so I don't know exactly what I did.

I can NOT believe what a run of loses I'm having today. I don't think I'm the most important part of my team (not been top tier at all); by the law of averages, you'd think a few of the games would end in victories, even if I'm dead... mad

But the MM and RNG don't conspire against you to bring you back down towards 50% they say...and no one believed them, ever.

I've had a few games in the Panther II, now fully upgraded. It's not terrible, it's actually ok, but it's not amazing. Probably better than most people give it credit for, but still pretty poor - I never worry when I see them on the field and to me, that is a good indicator of whether a tank is a real threat. Playing it, I know the DPM is not amazing, the mobility is below average, the armour is good for a medium but given the size and mobility are closer to heavy tanks than to mediums it seems a bit of a bum deal. Still, at least it's pretty. It will be a bit dull grinding this one out, but at least it's a moderately competent if unexciting tank.

The same cannot be said for the Type 61, which is an ugly little thing, at least while it has the Type 61 gun and not the rifled 105mm. I still need another 70,000xp or so to unlock that - now that is pain!

I agree 100% on the Panther II description. The Panther 88 premium tank is supposed to be better apparently.

This would make an awful lot of sense, it would explain why when I have a run of a few good games all of a sudden I find myself in a run of games with total morons some of which I've managed to prop up but generally end up dying with 5 or 6 kills to my name and a total enemy loss of 6 or 7.
