You'll need at least a tier 7 light to get into tier 10 games these days. The Chaffee line would be a good one to pursue I think.

I'm not a PC player, but the strongest SPG for that mission is surely the GwPanther, it's a great artillery piece - accurate, hits hard and does enough damage to make 2000+ in a game a non-issue. Getting the high XP will be the tough bit as arty XP earning is pathetic, so abuse your XP bonus for shooting higher tiers and nail as many tier 9s as you can. This one is a bit RNG heavy as you're relying on a tier 8 or more likely 9 game on a good map, where most of your shots hit and do decent damage.

Yeah I need to grind up some t7 lights to do lt-15 before the whole vision/spotting game is buried finally. Only have a few t5's at the moment ( chaffe elc etc)

I've got a few tier 7 lights.

IMHO the Americans are the best ones. Difficult to choose between the Bulldog and the T71.

The Russian one (LTTB) has better armour but isn't as good overall.

The French one (AMX-1375) is the worst one out of the lot.

Not played the Chinese lights, but I think they're pretty good.

The Bulldog has more crew and is bigger than the T71. Gun wise it's probably about the same. I used a female crew for the T71 as it only needs 3 of them.

The AMX 13 75 is also expensive to run as you need to fire premium or you won't pen anything.

I finally managed an Ace Tanker with the Boxtank tonight:

It came down to me and an AMX CDC vs a Super Pershing and a camping JagdPanther. I got the SP and we never saw the JP all game before the timer ran out.

I was only really playing to make some credits and didn't expect to get it or complete TD-12 for the T28. I'd been trying that with the tier 9 Waffle for a while.

Good job with that TD. A mastery is impressive indeed.

I'd say the only obvious major difference between the Bulldog and the T71 is the Bulldog has a 10 shot autoloader and the T71 has a 6 shot one.

If you come up against one another fully loaded the Bulldog will probably win (if all shots pen).

However, the Bulldog takes 38-40 seconds to reload the clip, whereas the T71 takes 18-20 I think.

I think if I really, really had to choose I'd go for the T71, but it's a very close call.

I know, thank the stars for such a heroic masked vigilante and his scathing put downs. I for one will never now venture into the low tiers, play the tanks I enjoy or indeed stat ped in any way. In fact its all HE now, 50% crews and stock tonks all the way. hippy

My complaint to WG is still in the Queue....so given how many complaints they likely get, and possibly how few people they have handling them, it's maybe not surprising that the first ticket often gets a template response. With luck it will be a template response relating to my complaint - unlike the FAME guy, who complained about getting banned in clan wars and got a response about why he didn't complete the mission (including handy 'how to' guides)...

Edit - actually got a response from WG now, it seems they actually read it and it's not a cookie cutter smile

yikes Seems like an actual live human response! There's a first for everything I suppose.

In other news, any love for Armoured Warfare here? Now in open beta without PTA and it looks like a lot of fun. Apparently it's a 20GB download and for reasons I don't quite know I just can't be arsed downloading it at the moment.

The HD version is 20Gb, but I downloaded the SD version, which is 10GB. It can be upgraded to HD later apparently.

I haven't played even the tutorial yet, just had a look at the garage.

I've been playing off and on in closed beta/EA, but frequent updates coupled with my slow connection and fairly busy life means I've not really got to grips with it as well as I'd hoped. I like the PvE games, mind. Must remember to set the loader going for the latest version (not that I'm around this weekend again....)

I'm still jumping into WoT for the occasional quick fix of upset and rage wink

Result. I got a message today from a random on Xbox Live - a voice message from a mouthbreathing southern American saying "Thanks for getting me kicked off for two weeks...", that will be the areshole who contacted me after a donked a match. I engaged him, admitting I'd played badly but he was in no position to get high and mighty as his stats were trash (20,000 games in 18 months with a 49% win rate) and that he should focus on upping his own game instead of picking on my much stronger skill set, but he was committed to saying that he was "like a god" compared to me. Either way, I remained non-aggressive and didn't insult him, which apparently irritated him more as an outpouring of racist bile followed. I'm white British, so not terribly affected by the things he said, nevertheless I thought his conduct and attitude stank so I reported him to Xbox Live and they actioned it almost immediately, he received a 14 day ban the next day. He's lucky I haven't reported him again for harassment, the last thing you should do when your ban is up is to restart the argument that got you banned in the first place.

Once you've been banned on Xbox Live your card is marked and you get additional bans for complaints of even the slightest infractions, I hope this chump wises up.

EDIT: I just went through the Chinese M5A1 light, very nice little tank. Now on the Type T-34, which is horrendous stock. Even fully upgraded it looks lacklustre at best. The gun depression is comedy, goodbye flexibility.

I used the 57mm evil needle gun (see Hawkwind silly) just like on the Russian version. Not a bad little tank, although the Jap heavies have totally fked over the mid tiers, so I don't know what they'll be like now.

I had a go with Armoured Warfare last night. It's not bad. Doesn't look as nice as WoT, it's a bit colourless & there's no camo paint yet. The maps are better, but that's not hard is it?

Gaming wise though it's basically World of Tanks without the constant threat of being obliterated by artillery. There's no need to dance around in random pattens once you're spotted any more. For that alone it is worth trying.

Plus, being able to play just PvE if you want, helps with the blood pressure.

World of Tanks really needs to implement real PvE, tbh I'd like to see a real campaign game - with huge maps, missions etc. I'd pay full retail price for that.

Type T-34 quickly heading towards the podium spot in the "worst tank in the game" category for me.

PvE is coming for the Xbox version at least. Presumably also PS4 too.

Russian medium? Its off, like the tiger, was a beast in WWII but quite different in WOT. Its not so quick, no armour, the zis cannon is fast and has good pen though, snipe away.

Not played WOT for months so think might be worth trying AW.
