I think the specials have finished now. I have no problem penning stuff - I just don't fire if my ^ is showing red.
I haven't changed the way I fire and they definitely don't pen as much as they used to. There's a special all day this week between 7 - 10 pm (I think). You get a 400% Reputation and 100% Credit bonus.

I've still yet to understand the business case for WG pissing off their customers with the ridiculous RNG etc. I can only think that it's to do with ensuring as quick as possible match-making and therefore more games, more money. By that I mean that they clearly don't want to alienate new players, so they nerf the better players with RNG, as to opposed to match-making by ability/experience, which might require too much effort by the servers and lead to long wait times in the lobby. They could simply give new players a 20% buff in skills until X number of games? I understand the theory that whilst you are in a nerf cycle, you are more likely to spend money on gold etc. It's ridiculous though. I can't think of any other online game where you are actively nerfed if you get good at it?!

the better your WN8 and WR are, the higher the RNG rolls you.

I understand that but why? For what purpose? It's not as if I'm enjoying the extra challenge that this entails. It just pisses me off and means I play it less.

I managed to do LT15 for the Stug at the weekend. Fiery Salient? Check. South spawn? Check. Camping boosh not taken? Check. Did 5,500 or so spotting damage, but managed to get myself killed much later on in the game by being greedy. Did it in the SP1C.

Just HT15 to do now, which i'm not looking forward too as I just can't get along with heavies. Trying to do it in an IS-3 or T32....

after 27000 games ive gone over to war thunder. Enjoy not having tags above the enemy tanks so you have to actually spot them, enjoy the spread of type of tanks so If im in my Cromwell I cant kill a Tiger from the front at all. I have to manover and sneek up behind or rush and flank.

Give it a try gents.

I did it with the IS-3. Have done it again a few times since. Ideally you want to be hull-down but as you need people to shoot you, you also need to be a threat. So you have to play aggressively. Good if you can get into close range brawls with other T8 Heavies, where they don't have time to aim at your weak points. Also, remember that damage taken counts - so there is 1500 points straight away from being killed. So towards the end of the match, you want to go kamikaze and make sure people shoot you!

It took me ages too. I needed to either complete LT15 or do SPG15 again with honours.

ELC has the highest camo rating but you rarely get put in high enough tier games to get 4k. In the end I bought the premium AMX 57 16 GF as it has the highest camo rating for T7+. That meant I went in a lot of T9 games. I completed it on Malinovka by hiding in the bush at D/E7. Camo paint helps and any perks/equipment that extend range. Obviously don't shoot or move once you are hidden in the bushes. I think I got over 8k spotting when I completed it but literally took me 3 games or so after buying the tank.

I'm currently grinding a KV2 to get an S-51 to try the SPG missions.

I get more spotting on my meds/heavies than lights.

Have unlocked a T49 so might see how that goes.

Oh the KV-2 is a fantastic tank, if you have the T-150 you can fit the 107mm but really its all about the derp and the 152mm ML-10 gun, just bloody good fun smile (people call it OP but compared to the new Jap tanks its far from it).
Oh, its as blind as a bat and slow as hell with a long aim/reload time and sluggish frown its only a minor down side though wink

Its fun being bottom tier in one as well winkredface

All anything has to do is move, a small bit, everyone can aim faster than you, you have no armour to speak of, and once you are in trouble ( which takes half the game) you cant get out of trouble because its so slow.

As for the reload, may as well go make a cuppa. Its everything the OP Exp isnt, the derp rarely makes up for it and you cant afford to miss one shot so you are out exposed far to much. Even top tier its pants.

I love the KV-2 it used to be very OP, but it has been belted with 'the bat of nerf' on a number of occasions. It can be as frustrating as it can be satisfying, nothing quite like getting a perfect "hand of Stalin" when you one shot a light tank on the move from long range or get a penetrating hit with HE on something the same or lower tier and it goes pop. Or missing the tank you fired at only to clobber the unspotted team mate next to it.

Oh dear God pick something other than the S-51!! I had one as my only arty for ages (because I played the KV so much I eventually researched it to make the KV elite, back in the days before the KV-1/2 split) and it used to be brilliant, but now I just can't use it. The aiming arc is tiny so you have to keep moving the whole tank to aim at anything, but the aiming time is so slow that each time you do it takes ages to zoom in on anything, by which time they've moved 6 foot and you have to move the whole tank again... Then when you do fire it will miss and you have to wait 40 seconds to try again.
Shame as it used to be brilliant before the great arty nerf.

For those of you who are grinding towards the Stug I'm afraid it's an utter POS. Sorry for the bad news!

The T28 HTC is OK though, though a lot more people seem to know it's weak spots now unfortunately.

I'm still play WOT a lot but I agree there's too many times when you're on a team with loads of bots\tomatoes and the game ends 15-4 or something similar. Very frustrating when you're pointing out an empty flank and no-one does anything.

On the plus side, I'm enjoying the O-Ho and am almost at the Type 4 Heavy.

To be honest I don't play much now, but when I do I've given up defending an empty flank - I used to think "Oh, no-one's going left, I better go defend that side" and every now and again I'd hold off loads or go push and open up that flank, but mostly I'd get swamped. Now if everyone goes one side I just follow them, the game will probably be a loss anyway so I may as well get some XP for it.
An extreme version of this is happening in Warthunder at the moment (in the planes at least) - the cost to repair is so high that people just quit out of the game as soon as they see they will probably lose instead of getting in a different plane and continue fighting a lost cause.
