SU-100Y can be a total beast. Why would you expect it to have a moving turret? Research before you buy.

I started today with a fairly low opinion of my Type 59, I've never really gotten on with it, feeling it to be a bit sluggish off the mark, with poor gun handling. I'm ending today completely in love with this little gem of a tank, it's definitely a bit troll in the gun department but the armour is just superb when used right. Ironically, I never struggle to kill them when I'm fighting against them, but with the right angling today I've been practically death-proof.

fking Waffles, they're basically mechanical aids. The day it gets taken out can't come soon enough. It doesn't matter how much armour you have because they just spam the fk out of you, even in tanks with really good front armour, no worries for the Waffle because a clip of premium essentially gives my tank the same armour as a light tank! I'm now at the point where I will kill a Waffle or any tank on that line before anything else. I don't care if I'm in my T110E3 and it's a Borsig on 10hp, that is the target.

Getting a bit fed up with trolls. Got called a pussy in a message (I think he was even on my team)

This was my report card from the battle.

I thought I had done ok.

In game slang (there's a lot of it) for an e100 I think. It has a gun that fires 5-10 rounds from a clip. Each shot can take out most tanks in one go. Especially if using premium ammo.

Waffentrager auf E100, tier X TD with a 5 round magazine, about 2 seconds between shots, ridiculous accuracy, low dispersion and silly pen. Each round does 560 alpha, so it basically pops out of cover and in under 10 seconds it has killed a full health tier X heavy tank. It has poor armour on it's turret, but has so much health it can soak up a lot of shots. Terribly, woefully and incredibly unbalanced and described by the creater of WOT as a tank "for retards". Now replaced on the PC by the Grille 15 and soon to go on the Xbox, if the rumours are true. It can't go soon enough.

So it's basically a German 'Deathstar' now?

No, it's just small, fast and has decent camo and a tremendous gun - 750 alpha, 279 pen on standard rounds and get this, .27 accuracy and 1.5 second aim time. That accuracy is the best in the game by miles. But, at best the reload will be around 14 seconds, maybe mid 13s with a good crew, rammer and premium food consumable, which means it can't just kill you from full health in 10 seconds flat. It's a devastating weapon on the field and judging by some of the results (such as a load of 10,000 damage+ games popping up on replay sites within days of it's introduction) it could be due a nerf at some point. At least it doesn't have any real armour to speak of, but it's a lot smaller than the waffle so not as easy to bang HESH / HE into.

Having not played this in at least a year, probably much longer, I was bored the other night and reinstalled it (2GB initial download, then a 5GB update, I got a lot more bored while waiting).

That Lanchester armoured car jobbie they've added since I last played is a bit strange, I assume the aim of the game is to kill the Mk whatever tank, but I couldn't even damage the thing.

Decided to play some tier 1 or 2 games where at least there ought to be a few other people displaying my lack of skill, but for some tanks I waited a couple of minutes without getting a battle (are there not so many new players these days?), and got my arse handed to me on a plate on the rest of them. Decided to have a go with the KV-1, with obligatory Derp gun...played 2 games, got one shot off in each. Broke out the KV-13 which used to be one of my more successful tanks, managed to score no damage. Finished off with the SU85 and got out maneuvered by a Matilda after I'd managed to slightly dent him with a close range shot in his side.

I think I need more practice biggrin

ETA: Just played half a dozen games in my T34, before I had one where my team won. I managed to lose money on game, in a premium tank! I suck.

Rizzo - unfortunately that's an understatement !!! wink

Getting out maneuvered by a Matilda is something I never though I would hear.......

Su85 is a distance TD going heat to head close up with any tank is going to end in tears. TD's I find are harder to play. I enjoy the heavy tanks so KV1 is a great one to practice and play with.

Yeah, he was hiding behind a rock and I didn't see him until it was way too late, I then go my arse end stuck on a rock and couldn't keep my front armour facing him while reloading biggrin My SU is set up as a long range sniper with binos and a cam net and I used to do pretty well with it, I should not be that close to the enemy though.

Discovered the missions last night which I don't think existed when I last played, and started having a go at the light tank missions with my T50, MT25, and ELC. Look to be a decent credit earner for even a useless player as I manged the first couple of missions without too much bother. Those 3 used to be fastest things in the game but there seem to be a lot more quick stuff out there now, there was even a medium of some variety that was just as quick as my ELC which surprised me.

Matilda is a great close 1/4 fighter.

It can turn quick (get off road driving Driver skill and the top tracks), fit the 2pndr with Littlejon, add rammer.
@ Slow speed it is great as it does not slow much for obstacles and can climb a cliff smile You can circle a KV quicker than his turret/hull can turn.
Spend on 30 Gold (for KV's...T25's)
The gun fires like a machine gun, good pen/low damage requires good knowledge of weak zones. Kv engine bay just above the tracks as an example for fire starting.

You can buy different upgrades/components for gold now? When I last played gold was only for premium ammo and premium accounts for extra earning potential. Does this mean anyone not spending gold is now at a major disadvantage?

Gold is just "silver" now, treat it as normal loading practice, some tanks cost more than others so it is really the only "budget" in the game.

Find a tank you really enjoyed at a lower tier, fully spec that and make money there, my Matilda makes me a ton noob swatting !

Nope it's the same as before in that there are no equipment / consumables that are gold only, just prem tanks. You can still buy prem ammo for gold but pretty much everyone uses silver for it now. It's still referred to as gold ammo, I guess it's quicker than typing prem ammo(?) but it doesn't give any more advantages than that.

Impressed you managed a year without it, I've been cut off for a few weeks due to a house move and starting to miss it a little now.
