Though I have just had another match in the Pz kpfw S35 739f where I did more damage than the rest of my team combined, and took the win. If the Panzer 38H is the "Micro Maus", then surely the S35 is the "Mini Maus" - I've not played the VK45.02 as it's not yet in the Xbox game, but it's a beast, hardly living up to it's moniker.

Whenever I'm top tier in the S35, I'm practically guaranteed a Cool Headed medal.
love the s35 but isnt it the pz 36H ? cant see a 38H ?

38H 735(f), according to the WOTwiki. Wish I'd bought the damn thing now! I've just had a tier 4 game in my S35 (one of the snidey 7v7s when the MM tosses out when it can't make a good match quick enough), came away with 4 kills, a Cool Headed medal and a Steel Wall. Getting a Steel Wall in a tank with 260hp probably doesn't happen often hehe

Edit: You won't see the 38H on the tech tree, as it's a rare premium, it's not on general sale, usually only available in special limited time sales or as a prize in contests.

Well I suppose putting a 5 foot nothing Irishman like Hilary Doyle next to something is a good way to exaggerate the scale too. wink

They did something similar for the film Jaws, where they had a midget in the shark cage to make the Great White look larger than it was. According to urban legend, the poor guy had a nervous breakdown afterwards. laugh

Let's put a 6 foot Irishman next to the Maus:

Where is the Maus at? Be great to see one in the metal - still havent made it to Bovington yet, but one day...

If anyone is looking for a comprehensive modpack then I can very much recommend Solo's mod pack. It comes with its own installer with a myriad of different mods and options to choose from, with examples of each in the installer. it's very comprehensive and a good way to make your game really how you want it (or to completely bork it by choosing far to much wink). I've been tinkering with it since 9.3 and have to say its really quite good. Kudos to Soloviyko on the US server for putting this together, link below to the forum page about it.

It's at the Kubinka Tank Museum, which about 40 miles from Moscow. Kubinka was the Soviet Union's test area for armour.

Thanks. I'm using Anfield's mod pack at the moment, which works OK. The colours for the stats have changed since the last patch so I can actually read the numbers now.

I'm liking that. Presumably, if you want to change the options, you just run the installer again and it picks up what you've got already?

My pleasure. Check out his other videos too. He's just put one up about the SU-100.

He's a tanker in the US Army - a Major IIRC, so he knows what he's talking about. I think he's in something like the Nevada National Guard now, but he's a technical advisor to Wargaming and sometimes streams WoT on Twitch TV.

Another thumbs up for the video, hadn't seen the Maus on before.

The videos by "The Chieftan" & "The Challenger are very interesting and a good way of burning 20 odd minutes on the sofa with a cold brew.read

Yes, just re run the installer and it removes the previous mods and reinstalls the new selections. It even sends you to the XVM site so you can reactivate your token.

Thanks Beati - Kubinka is probably a bit far for a day trip, but who knows maybe one day. Such a shame to see the video and the gutted inside, but it's not like they would be easily restored and I imagine an internal explosion makes quite a mess.

I'd like to see the French tank museum down in Saumur. They've got a fully working Tiger II apparently.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mus%C3%A9e_des_Blind%...

It's not that far from Le Mans (about 75 miles south), so maybe I can combine it with a visit to the 24hr race.

I played with a couple of "Fury" tanks today. Definitely don't look worth the money, it's got the same paint job that any American tank can have just with Fury on the barrel and some extra bags strapped to the body, neither of them lasted the game.

I'll fire up the E8 just to see if I can go head to head with a couple; interested to see the quality of player who buys a T6 med premium which is apparently identical to an existing vehicle...

I'm now seeing 1 or 2 every game, they appear to be no harder/easier to kill than a regular E8.

Seems to be pretty popular on the forums, but then I'd guess that the sort of person who'd spend that on a re-skin of a standard tank are the kind of people who'd also post on a dedicated WOT forum. I don't think too badly of it - it's fully upgraded tank, so more competitive than a regular premium of the same tier, and it gets the accelerated XP and silver gain, not mention the "Wardaddy" crew that comes with Mentor pre-trained. Paying real money for things that can be bought with silver is always a difficult thing to sell to some people, but it comes with about 1.2 million worth of equipment, and a load of premium ammo. If you're looking for a competitive crew trainer and silver press for American crews, it's a good proposition. Let us not forget, the 10% that pay money for content keep the game free for the majority who never spend a quid.

Now, with that said, I look forward to chewing these things up with my Dicker Max hehe

My premium garage will be growing soon, I've purchased the "Combat Ready Starter Pack", which is a pack designed to get new players into WOT, by having a product on the shelves of stores that gamers will see. It comes with some gold, some silver, some premium time, a month's Xbox Live Gold membership, and a garage slot and a Panzer 38H. Once it arrives in the post, I won't unlock the content straight away, to save the premium time for the weekend. I can't wait to play the Panzer 38H, it's the reason I bought the pack and a tank I've always wanted to have in my garage. With the bonus gold I'll be picking up the Russian lend-lease Churchill III, which I hear is real bank heist tank, raking in big silver and being fun to play.

I'm a wallet warrior, come at me brahs. I was looking at my WN8 and efficieny last night, and my overall WR is a 51%. My WR in premiums is 54%, which is pretty good considering premiums play with a handicap at their tier.

EDIT: Looks like the Fury is actually a nerf.

http://ftr.wot-news.com/2014/10/15/regarding-the-s...

Worse front armour, worse turret armour, lower speed courtesy of a higher weight etc. These changes will come to the E8 eventually.

Except for the matchmaking, it only sees one tier above not two and the enhanced credit making. The first of those two benefits is huge.

The Fury is a premium that doesn't get preferential MM, it sees tier 8s in regular MM. Premiums tend to only get PMM when they won't be competitive with regular MM. Something like the SU-122-44 has no more problem in tier 9 games than any other tier 7, but a TOGII against tier 8s would be a slaughter.

Another downside to the Fury, it's special skin has no camo value attached. So to get your 5% camo bonus, you need to apply a camo paintjob, which covers over the special Fury skin, which makes the Fury look like any other E8 with a few boxes and helmets stuck on. This may be patched later as it is hopefully a design oversight. The Freedom (a Super Pershing with an American flag paintjob) was treated as though it had a permanent camo paint, so that owners wouldn't cover their Freedom in a camo job that spoiled the USP of the Freedom over the regular SP.

Well that'll teach me to believe the first post I read, without the matchmaking unless you desperately need a US medium trainer you might as well go throw some money under a bus.

Yeah I thought they got the better MM until I was in my Tier 8 TD in a game dominated by tier 8/7. I'd be a bit miffed to spend that much and still got put in to games like that.
