A bit harsh. He was trying to back off from the E-25 that was taking him apart.

Happened to me earlier when my WZ-111's retreat was blocked and I was actually pushed by some douche bag unicum in an FV215b - right into a Jagdpanzer E100's gun.

I also saw the team damage system first hand yesterday. My Wolverine got derped in the back as we were moving out by some French tt in a Somua SAu 40. It knocked me down to single digit health and my game was over before it even started. I stopped & turned side on to see if they'd do it again and get banned. They did, but not enough for a ban. They also had time to kill one of our artillery before the auto-ban kicked them. I checked their name on the Wot website and it showed they'd been banned for 24 hours.

Amazingly we won that game thanks to a good player in a BDR and an AT-2.

Will only save the last replay, so rename it between games if you want to keep it.

The replays are tiny I leave it catching them all, easy enough for me to find the one I want as I rarely play the same tank two games in a row and the file names are made of the map, the tank type and the game start time.

And yes it was a little harsh having watched it back, I was having a good agressive game driving and shooting and he got in my way but didn't deserve to die, thankfully it's just pixels and he didn't seem to notice....

Kozzy and I had a handful (4) of remarkably unsuccessful platoons earlier. We played dual AT-15s in 2 of them, and were bedevilled by matchmaking and teammates, acquitting ourselves with valiance before dying last.

So, Kozzy, this one's for you.

Not the most kills ever, but wish you'd been there smile

What a frustrating day. The IS-3 is having my life, 175mm pen with ste accuracy and aim time barely cuts it against tier 9s, let alone the 10s. Bring on the BL-9 with that 225mm pen, that gun will make the IS-3 I think. It's definitely a case of diminshing returns with the IS line, as unlike many lines where the better guns are awarded as you go up the line, the IS line gets 390 alpha at tier 6 when the KV-1S get it's 122mm gun (ok, slightly different on PC now) and you keep that 390 alpha all the way up to tier 9. Yes, the guns get better in terms of accuracy, aim and reload time, but they are not major improvements and the D-25T on the IS-3 feels particularly weak at tier 8.

I know WOT is not always about the numbers, it's about the complete package and I feel like the IS-3 might just get there when I get the BL-9 on it. I don't think I'll bother with the IS-6 though, it's expensive and despite having slightly better gun handling than D-25T, it's still got that 175mm pen and ste accuracy, which is a shame because I really like the look of it. Much like the IS-3, it can boss it on urban maps, but they're a nightmare on open maps like Prokhorovka, Malinovka, Redshire etc.

Does anyone here play the KV-5? I've heard that is a bit of a weapon. 100 ton tank that can do 40kmph, supposed to be a right laugh with a controlled impact crew.

Nice.

On a similar note:

I was particularly happy with the final amount of xp received, which has to be a record for me.

Just don't know what's with some of the players I get lumbered with at the moment.

After last night's rant (2 players who could have won the game if they'd have gone into the cap with the guy already there, instead of trying to play peek-a-boo from just outside the cap...), this morning just had a guy park his tank in full view of the enemy, turn his turret backwards and wait to die. Wouldn't have been so bad, except it was the hill on Himmlesdorf and there were only 3 of us up there - he was the strongest...

Starting to think "Fire for Effect" is the only badge worth worrying about in amongst all the stats.

It's a good idea to aim for a "Fire for Effect" anyway.

In some tanks, like the SU-100Y, you can do it in a couple of shots. smash

I don't have one, but it's very similar to the KV-4 which I do have. They're both 100 ton tanks, so even at slow speed you can ram kill anything low health. I rammed an IS-3 the other day for about 300 damage before shooting him dead. Then did the same to his buddy in a T34.

When we get the second Soviet heavy line the KV-5 may come back on sale in the store, I'm not sure if it's kept as a prize / rare tank and not sold to the general public. Pain in the arse. I'm undecided on Tier 8 premiums, today I've been raging like fk, I've had 13 games in my IS-3 and only in one have I been top tier. This is something I felt in my Tiger II and Jagdpanther II, they seem to feed the tier Xs a lot more than the 2 tier spread feeds other tanks. Maybe it's because the majority of players stick around tiers 5-7 where the battles are fast, fluid and sometimes unpredictable, those tier 10 players need someone to snack on and it always feels like tier 8s get a stiff hand in the MM.

I had considered laying the cash down for an IS-6, but even with preferential MM the gun it has is a peashooter, 175mm pen is ste at tier 8 and 390 alpha isn't even anything special when the aim and reload times are so poor. I really like the look of the Löwe but it doesn't get pref MM, and the thought of being smashed by Waffles, T57s and relentless E-100s doesn't really appeal.

I did buy myself some WOT t shirts this evening though, so there is that to cheer me up.

I think they sell WoT T-shirts in the shop at Bovington. Which ones did you go for?

The KV-5 isn't a regular in the PC premium shop either - It was replaced by the IS-6. It pops up once or twice a year. Maybe it'll be back at Christmas. It gets preferential matchmaking too, which is nice. The only real downside compared to the KV-4 is slower reload & the obvious R2-D2 mini-turret weak spot on the front of the tank.

They removed the top battle tier, which effectively puts tier 8 in more tier 10 games. Not great, but I find I'm often bottom tier in whatever tank I play. My tier 5 KV-1S is constantly in tier 6 and 7 games. It's just ridiculous.

BTW, I like how in War Thunder Ground forces it now shows you the effect of your shot on the enemy tank:

I'd love to see that in WoT.

I'll watch the Jingles vid tonight, I just subscribed to him yesterday.

For the t shirts, I got myself the "I Löwe Tanks" and "No Camping" designs

There's been a promotion on the US server; 7 days of (mainly easy) challenges to get a free T-14.

God, the gun is dreadful. Good earner, and bouncy, but that gun...

Yeah, the gun is trash. The tank itself isn't so hot, probably why they give it away for free. It's a conundrum of a tank; great armour all round, with a glaring weakspot in the front that angling seems to make bigger and easier to hit. At range, you can bounce pretty much anything but TDs and arty, but the gun only works at short ranges. A gun which has terrible penetration values, low alpha and only a good ROF going for it, so you're forced to go in close, letting people trash your weakspot. On urban maps, when top tier, it can bully through anything lower tier and take less to no damage, using the gun and impressive speed to ram through the enemy. On open maps, it's utterly terribly completely at sea and unable to really deal damage beyond 100m, because it doesn't have the accuracy to target weakspots, and shooting gold rounds is dicey as half of them will slew wide - and even when you do pen, most tanks will turn to look at you, shoot the machinegun port and have the TDs and SPGs lining up to smash you.

I do think it's one of the best looking tanks in the game though, a very interesting design.

That cruiser2 is hilarious at times, one shot a T67 from full health earlier.
He saw me and kept coming thinking he would bully me as I was a 3 tier, plenty people out there it seems are not aware how deadly this tank can be.

Speaking of the KV-5 and it being a bit rare, I've played with or against one in almost all of my games in my T28 today. Normally only see 1 or 2 a week and annoyingly no one seems to know where to shoot the damn things so they plod along quite happily. It must be a fun tank to play!

I had another excellent game in that the other day. T5 game, came down to me and an Su-76 vs an M37, Pz.Sfl.IVc, Marder 38T, Marder III and a medium II.

SU-76 was good, but still got killed early; I had a kill already and got the last 5 to get top gun, including an irate Pz.Sfl that got one shot - he wasn't amused and started whining about aimbots. I told him to fk off, but he kept whining and said he'd report me(told him to go ahead). One of those games where the rng is at 100% and 9/10 shots hit where they should (still took 3 hits to finish off the dumb M37 who tried to cap).

The Pz.Sfl messaged me afterwards:

'nice accuracy'
'thanks, the 357% crew, vent and vertical stabiliser help there'

No response. I don't think I've ever raged enough to message someone after the game.
