Secret Of Monkey Island
Monkey Island 2
Sensible World Of Soccer (playing that right now with the PS3 Joypad connected to the lap top)
Indianapolis 500
Pinball Dreams
It Came From The Desert
Wings
The peak of gaming IMO. They may not have been the flashiest but the artwork and style was so well thought and characterful compared to today's lot, bar one or two exceptions.

Were I to buy an Amiga now, would I be able to plug it in to a flatscreen TV?
And, the million dollar question: Would I be disappointed? Considering I've done the PS1/2/3 thing. I guess now even a PS1 would be clunky, so would an Amiga be a massive "retro"grade step?

I relive my retro gamings through the retro games on xbox live - loads of good ones on there (SWOS is my current time sucker, along with R-Type).
Not only do you get to hunt out titles from across the platforms, but there's loads of old coin op stuff in there too, AND a very healthy crop of indie games that often have all the charm and flavour of the old Amiga (et al) games to boot.

As long as the TV has a standard co-ax aerial input - you should be fine. Some Amigas like the A1200 also had RGB (DB23) and composite video connections too - as well as dedicated stereo output for sound - so there are plenty of options. And, the million dollar question: Would I be disappointed? Whether you would be disappointed or not.....depends on you. Perhaps download one of the free emulators and give that a spin first (or buy one) - see if you can get back into it before committing to buying new hardware.
Some of the emulators these days are very good, they load a lot faster and you don't have to store the games on floppy......why would you clutter your house with bulky Amiga hardware.

I would agree. The music and sounds effects were absolutely terrific on the Amiga, ideal for games, and the gameplay could be both complex and fast due to processing speeds for the time.
The graphics were also a real revelation to those who had come from the Amstrad/Spectrum era. Graphics on games like SWIV were just fantastic.
And yet despite all the advancements, programmers were still obsessed with sheer playability rather than epic graphics and movie like animation.
The combination of the above produced some of the most furiously addictive and playable games ever in my opinion.
You only have to fight it out in 2 player mode on IK+, Supercars 2 or SWIV to work that out
