There was some chat earlier in the week about doing one tonight or tomorrow night. Friday and Saturday evenings are when most of us tend to be online and have the hours needed to raid. I'll try to be about, though this week has been manic so I might fall asleep as soon as I get home.

My aim for the week is to get at least two of them through normal mode WotM, including finally taking down Aksis.
Apparently NM only takes 20 mins from start to finish according to some bloke on YouTube (Legend or Slayer something or other), so not sure why you've not cracked it yet to be honest I'd like to get my light to 370+ before raiding proper, can't help but think anything less than about 375 is going to be a liability for the end battle if you want to actually play a part
Back to the grind ...
4 of us did the raid yesterday and we were fine. Doing enough damage and not dying much. It was the lack of people to do cannons or throw Siva balls within the time limit that was the problem, so we gave up at aksis.
If 6 of us do it tonight we'll be fine. I'll be on early evening onwards.

I spent three hours trying to beat Vosiks in Heroic Mode earlier, despite the team basically saying "HM is easy". Allegedly, Vosiks is the hardest part, but we still couldn't get it done, repeatedly getting him to a slvier of health before one person died and we were gradually overwhelmed.
I still feel I need more familiarity with Normal Mode before trying to tackle HM. As always, I'd be well up for a raid later on.

Sounds like your team have fallen for the YouTube "piece of piss" con. They just ignore the fact that these (professional game players) have spent god knows how many hours getting things down and then publish the vid that shows them smashing it in no time at all. 3 hours though for one boss? Nope, don't have that sort of time to throw at it I'm afraidI still feel I need more familiarity with Normal Mode before trying to tackle HM. As always, I'd be well up for a raid later on.

Had good fun raiding last night. Thank you sherpas! That Aksis fella is a right PITA in phase 2, but we'll get him.
I should be about next Saturday night if anyone's up for another go.
You're very welcome. I've said it before and I daresay I shall do so, but the Raids are the best part of Destiny and you do yourself a massive disservice by not taking part.I should be about next Saturday night if anyone's up for another go.
I'm certainly not waiting until next weekend to have another crack at Aksis; I'll likely be at him again in the next couple of days.

If we can get an early-ish start I could do tomorrow night. I'd rather not lose the checkpoint in the reset. I just want that raid auto rifle really...I'm certainly not waiting until next weekend to have another crack at Aksis; I'll likely be at him again in the next couple of days.
Well I joined a bunch of randoms from /r/fireteams and got phase 1 done first time and phase 2 on the fifth attempt. And finally got that auto rifle (and the cloak)...
I think with only one of us having completed the raid before it wasn't appreciated just how important getting empowered people into the right places was. In the group this morning there was one guy who was clearly an expert and was directing traffic, which helped a great deal.

Having a Raid Captain - someone who knows the thing inside and out, and is able to co ordinate the entire team - is undoubtedly very, very useful. Sadly, I don't think either Stimps or I know Wrath of the Machin e quite well enough to take that role just yet! Where's Adam when you need him?!
