Sims, that's a bit petty if (some of them) chose to throw their toys out of the pram like that - people should play games how and when they want to play them, not based on the dictat of someone with a Napoleon complex. Better off out than in - I've never really understood the point of Clans anyhow and it sounds like some like to take it just a bit too far

You've done more in Destiny than I have but personally, I think Destiny has probably run it's course for me. No characters at 400 and WotM still not finished (not through lack of opportunity, I've just not had the time or sometimes inclination based on the events of the day) but I'm cool with all that - never finished King's Fall either

I'm almost at the new max level in The Division now too (just need a good chest piece to hit 256), but without anyone else playing it (aside from Stimps who levelled it quicker than I did biggrin) there is little there to offer longevity especially as I don't have any of the DLC

Not been back to Titanfall since I finished the campaign, I perhaps should

The Last Guardian has potential and released in about a week, but that's a single player affair ...
I've heard that the Division is much improved having had various patches/balancing etc. since I left. I keep meaning to take a look but, I have so many games that need playing! You should hop onto Titanfall mutiplayer Moog...even I enjoyed it (you should expect to die though!)

I'm actually surprised that more people on my friends list didn't go for Battlefield. I am equally surprised at just how much I am enjoying it! It is so refreshing to get back to a historic scenario like the early COD games. The multiplayer is amazing and really feels like you're in a large scale war. It doesn't seem to matter how much you die (I die a lot!) the experience is just pure fun.

(Yes, this is me, Speckle, actually raving about a PvP game - whatever next?!)

The campaign is very good too, just a bit short.

What a bunch of bellends, Sims. Adults getting arsey over a video game? Pathetic.

Speckle - I was thinking of getting BF1 soon so I'll see you on there at some point.

I've gotten into GTA Online this past couple of days and it's great fun. There's quite an active crew from this forum who are very helpful to newbies. If any of you fancy a whole new grind then come on over.

Stimps, Moog - Titanfall 2 is going to be our new bag. If Uncle Speck can play it and do reasonably well, we can!

Never played it, don't like the look of it & not going to start playing it now. Given how randos can't play the objective, there is no hope for this IB ...

I got the Titan and Warlock to rank 5 pretty quickly, started on Hunter this morning but am lacking much motivation to continue. Maybe my luck has been poor, but I've not got an awful lot of joy from post-game drops (only one primary thus far) in thirty or so games and the rewards for the bounties are guaranteed 400 light, but so would loot from the Raid be and that would take an hour or two to run through, not the three or four it has taken to get ranked up and bounties done.

Plus, the vendor rolled weapons aren't great. Okay, the scout has a good roll but it's not going to be the carrot-on-a-stick that the excellent Clever Dragon vendor roll was last time around. The fusion rifle is just "meh," Saladin's Vigil being a better archetype and the old TTK FWC vendor The Vacancy still being near-perfect.

I'll be back on in the week to try sparrow racing.

We need to line up the Xmas raid marathon that was mentioned a month or so back.

Yes, yes we do.

Jammy and I did Crota's End a couple of weeks ago (and it was pretty much as laughably easy at post RoI light level as you'd imagine), but it was still good fun and I'll always have a soft spot for VoG.

Sparrow Racing seems like fun and I got some higher light level drops too, plus some truly psychedelic shaders. Quite tricky to master and I think my time with games such as Wipeout may help here ... rank 2.5 after a dozen games or so. Not convinced by the argee bargee mechanics but that's perhaps because I always seem to come out worse in any given altercation

Icebreaker V2 is an RNG reward from the Vanguard Elite bounty Sunrise and that requires a Nightfall run / completion. It's the revamped Nexus this week so if anyone fancies it, etc. Not done a NF though since RoI dropped and the rewards turned to crap. I went in solo earlier to try and get some medals from the spawn area mobs and they seemed hard as nails (level 11 dregs!). Took more than a clip to get rid of that Fallen Captain and he took most of my health to boot, most odd

I've not played much the last 24 hours because almost out of nowhere I've suddenly got a stinking cold, and have all but lost my voice to the sore throat that came along with it.

After initially struggling, I seem to have found something of a groove in SRL now, winning four of my last six races, coming fourth in one and, well, last in the other (though there was less than a second between 2nd and 6th in both races!) and only because I cocked up my racing line by trying to hit a boost gate I should have ignored.

Got some nice rewards, including a pretty nice Matador 64 (Rangefinder, HammerForged, performance bonus) and a full set of SLR armour as well. The SLR related perks certainly make the racing a little easier.

I did manage to pick up the bounty quest for the Nova Mortis (void ThunderLord) as well, so I'll hopefully be hitting that later.

Is anyone still playing this game? Not seen anyone on for ages (not just in Destiny, generally)

Hit SRL rank 5 today and that was an anticlimax - total garbage from that package, simply not worth it based on the rewards I received

Need one more win for the S license quest ....

Dropped a Fatebringer roll Keystone01 though from a DO package so pretty happy with that

Whilst on Venus patrol, stumbled across a VoG start and dived in to help out. Nostalgia overload as I saw the fireteam I'd helped disappear into the Vault. Gave them wave at the doorway, sadly not reciprocated but no matter, so many memories flooded back at that point .... 3 Fatebringers mainly biggrin (man, that was such a great gun, possibly the best ever) But also such a laugh ...

But never a Vex Mythoclast, would still like one of those

I've been very busy with work lately and to be honest, I've gotten quite bored with gaming, so haven't been on much at all.

Tried SRL but with only 4 tracks I lost interest after a dozen races. I want to get some nighfalls done to try for the new icebreaker.

Would love to do the VOG again and other raids. We did talk of an xmas raid marathon before. I can dedicate a day to this, if we can rally up a full squad.

I'm not sure I could commit to a full raid marathon (mainly down to the fact I've only actually finished two of them whistle), but I'd be up for running VoG hard mode to try and get you a Fatebringer Stimps and a chance at a Vex - both technically useless of course, but still. Crota's End is comically easy now of course, but still fun and I reckon I'd still fail to complete The Abyss run as my Titan ... never made it to this day

Even better if we rocked in to the VoG there with Icebreaker V2 and cheesed the Templar like old times. LC, we'd need you for your running around and stopping the bugger from teleporting, naturally wink

May even need to get a shiny new SGA, just brilliant against the oracles in the Atheon phase. Must remember to keep walking down the stairs .... why is it going all dark again? biggrin

So yeah, I'd be up for running the NF for the small chance of getting that brilliant gun and reliving Destiny at it's absolute best

Edit: Merry Christmas one and all and I hope everyone I've shared some sort of gaming with this year has a good one beer

I've not played much the last week, largely due to illness, but still managed to get one character to rank 5 and Class S in SRL, and run two of the three through Nightfall. Still no Icebreaker, of course.

Popped on today and had quite a productive day;

- 2 exotic engrams from Sparrow Racing using the last of my 3oC (1 warlock helmet and a Zhalo)
- Decrypted a legendary engram and it gave me the exotic Jade Rabbit, first time I recall getting an exotic from a legendary

Well, Nova Mortis and Abbadon acquired although I can't see me using them. Quite like my newly gained Nemesis Star and that's my highest light heavy now, quite effective in the heroic strikes this week.

Speaking of which I've been running a few this week with mainly randos and it's been a reasonable experience on the whole apart from the last one where some numpty used nothing other than Bolt Caster for the entire Sepiks Perfected encounter (cough, solar burn) and the other was a suicidal lemming ....

Some decent drops from SRL, strike bounty rewards and Forge sees me at 399 albeit with a very specific loadout and needing 400 drops for the three weapon slots

Even hit 25 with Dead Orbit this week and so starts their exotic item quest. Means venturing into the Crucible and actually winning though, so could be a while. Got my arsed kicked by the endless shotgunners earlier, just not fun

Got the warlock up to 390 ish, so would also like another run through the Nightfall given how Sims rocked (via Vita no less) as his Nova-lock earlier in the week. What was it again? Total kills = mine & Stimps' combined ....

Will be on a bit over the next three days and up for running anything if folks see me on and fancy teaming up

Using Raze Lighter with solar burn active in the strike playlist comes close to cheating, I feel. There's plenty of competition for that exotic solar slot (Ice Breaker / Gjally / Black Spindle / Sleeper Simulant / Dragon's Breath etc) yet not of them can do quite the work of a Raze Lighter. Yes, you need to get up close and personal, but the risk incurred is offset by being able to bring most bosses down in seconds.

It was great fun.

Bolt Caster with arc burn on is completely over powered, as it has a range attack that can kill multiple enemies at once.

Outside of arc burn when was the last time you used Bolt Caster? I haven't used it in months - it's still at 335 light - yet both Raze Lighter and Dark Drinker are regular contenders for the exotic slot. Hell, if it's an arc week week, odds are the exotic slot is going to Zhalo rather than a heavy anyway.
