I had a go at the CONTROL game in the crucible this morning - man I suck!! I basically just run around, not sure who I should be shooting and get killed alot! I think the term is 'cannon fodder' which isn't that much fun! I will persevere but, the crucible may not be for me!

Doing missions with someone else however, that is fun!! Singh111s joined me for a Moon mission this morning and, as he is 5 levels above me, made pretty short work of the swarms of fallen who I could not have dealt with on my own!!

I think I might try a Titan character too - will I have to do all the earth missions again?

Yeah it was fun! Don't worry, you'll rank up quickly enough. Just keep jumping into fire teams and remember to set your own team to (top left on the roster screen) to open so others can easily join you.

Reckon you will have to do the earth missions again.

Jumping on now if anybody fancies jumping into a strike mission. Had my ass handed to me when trying this morning. :-(

Just found out (whilst trying to join drcooper for a co-op effort) that you can't doing anything remotely multi-player without a PS+ subscription which really limits the game for me. PS+ sub now bought so look forward to finally joining in the multi-player fun!

You can even get a free 14 day trial directly from the Playstation store. In the end I opted for a years membership as it's much cheaper than buying by the month / 3 months

So.... Ive made it to lvl 20... Now.. Whats the easiest way to get the 'light', 'marks' and 'rep' so i can get the better armour

Thanks for the co-op missions on Saturday. I thought I was making a reasonable job of things, only to find out at the end of every mission I was being out shot 2 to 1. My cap is doffed in your direction...

Depending on whether you want to play Crucible or PvE then you're best either playing the multiplayer or just doing the level 20 strikes over and over until you get enough gear to do the level 22 strikes, then do those over and over.

Some good games at the weekend with a few on here, seemed to been on at the same time as BornSpecial a lot.
Got level 18 and really want the 20 but now away until Monday for work so will probably come back and be completely outmatched by everyone.

Hi all.
Long time lurker first time poster.

Just reached level seven and I have to say it's been a bit of a slog,im really struggling to see why people are getting excited by it.As far as I can tell(granted im not that far in)its the same thing over and over again.Drop onto planet,kill hordes of aliens,kill boss man rinse and repeat.

Now im Billy no mates on PS4 so I've got this far playing on my own(Oo'er)but it surely cannot be that much better playing co-op.Maybe I've just got to admit defeat and realize this game just isn't for me.

I wasn't really going for it until I started levelling up and taking off heads with a semi automatic rifle - now it's becoming really good fun.

Removing a head long distance, throwing knife in another, cluster grenade towards a few others then use the pulse shotgun thingy to get in close to the heavier dudes - it's hideously geeky but it seems to flow really well!

It's great fun, I think : )

I'm currently level 13 playing more or less on my own (didn't have the requisite PS+ subscription until recently) and yes it is a bit repetitive to be fair (I'm about to tackle the last moon mission), but then most FPS tend to be. At least this one has a bit more interest in being able to equip different gear and upgrade it

I'm going to stick with it since I want to make level 20 before Bungie inevitably raise the level cap to accommodate the DLC / expansion packs

I played my first strike mission (Earth) yesterday and really enjoyed the co-op aspect especially as I was matched with some person on level 24 - he completely annihilated the opposition

What I would say is that if you are doing the story missions whilst at the level they are set at then you might struggle on your own i.e. if you are level 7 and doing a story level 7 mission. Grab bounties and do patrol to level up a bit and it's a bit more fun (I like having the firepower advantage!). I might even venture into the Crucible and see what that is all about

I totally agree with the idea that you should be a couple of levels above the mission you're on. I'm level 12 currently and doing level 8 missions, mostly by myself. It isn't exactly a cakewalk but, it is very do-able.

I only realised yesterday that I hadn't levelled up my armour since day 1 - no wonder I was getting killed alot!! ;-)

I've tried the crucible a few times but, I clearly need to improve my skills before going back. I've watched a few youtube videos of crucible players and there are some insanely good players out there, no doubt with a solid FPS history.

Still enjoying it though
