Sorry chaps, could only jump on for about 20 minutes last night and didn't even get to run the exotic chest for my other 2 characters. 
New Nightfall/weekly sounds interesting - the hardest bit is the witches, who have solar shields, so a fireteam with arc and solar HMGs will be the best bet.
When are people looking to do the Crota Raid I desperately need level 32 armour pieces for all 3 of my characters, so that is my priority this week!

I have to say since acquiring Icebreaker and a couple of other legendary items, my interest in Destiny (albeit without the DLC) has gone up again as I enjoy, if that's the right word, the slog of now upgrading my new weapons
Had another go at soloing the weekly strike and died at the same point as before. This was now at level 27 with the better weapons on a level 24 strike, frustrating and I clearly need more practice (or indeed some support
) Those darn captains with blue shields were a PITA however it was the "Lightswitch" modifier that got me in the end - tried to duke it out with captain when he got too close but didn't realise that it was one punch and you're outta there mate 
In other news, I finally got a purple engram drop. First one ever. Any what did the cryptarch give me for this prized possession? 2 x ascendant energy - bugger

Kind of - there was an offer on for the Limited Edition of Destiny for £40 and this includes the first two DLCs, so after selling my standard edition for £20 on ebay, the first two DLCs cost me around £10 each. I have to say since acquiring Icebreaker and a couple of other legendary items, my interest in Destiny (albeit without the DLC) has gone up again as I enjoy, if that's the right word, the slog of now upgrading my new weapons

Plus it meant that I didn't buy the DLC specifically, I bought an upgraded Day 1 version of the game that included it, so it satisfied my need not to encourage outrageous Bungie's DLC policy!
As for the weekly/Nightfalls - they are much easier as part of a team.

I expect the hard raid will be very difficult to beat for a few weeks until people get to level 32 and learn the new mechanics.
Those bits that are likely to be achievable this week (the bits without a boss to kill) won't have double rewards if it's anything like VoG. In VoG hardmode you only get the double rewards for beating the Templar, Gatekeepers and Atheon.
What's the etiquette here for joining other folks whilst in the game? Would people mind if I just add myself to your fireteam if I see you online, or would you prefer to be contacted via message first?
I don't want to a) join if not wanted or b) would be a burden because you are playing at level 30 odd or something - but I'd quite like to have a crack at some strikes, etc with other folks because I can't seem to do them solo

If I am running a mission solo or a strike without a full fireteam, I am more than happy for people to join me. The only exception is if I'm in one of the raids without a full team - we are usually waiting for someone to join. More often than not, I'll have a PSN party active so, just pop in and see what I'm up to
Same goes if you need to do something specific and need some help, all you need to do is ask
