Well, we did it!! We managed to beat Crota on hard last night 
It was by far my best gaming experience to date! A fantastic team effort with some of the best communication I have seen in a raid team yet. Nobody panicked, everyone knew their job and where they were supposed to be at any given moment. If we wiped, we took time to discuss it and make changes to our strategy.

Despite having still not beaten VoG successfully despite owning the game for three months and clocking up nearly two hundred hours of playtime, I did manage to take my Warlock through Crota's End (on normal, sorry!) this week. I had a blast.
Tried again with my Hunter (level 29) with a group of hastily assembled DestinyLFG-ers, and it was a disaster from start to finish. No co-ordination, very few with mics, and a couple of "heroes" determined to prove they could run the abyss solo. Needless to say, they died quickly. After the fifth or sixth wipe, I'd had enough.

It was certainly a happy moment seeing Crota go down on Saturday night. The rest of my weekend was spent helping my son get to level 20 and then start the grind to get armour with light. Boy! It was painful lol. My brain seems to have suppressed those 'first character' memories of just how long it takes when you have no weapons or armour to provide from previous characters. That and his obsession for PvP were just about all I could take
Which means I still have two characters to run through CE this week in order to get the shards I need to level one of those two characters up to 32. If anyone fancies running through with me this evening I'll be online from around 8pm.

I've been running daily heroics and public events to garner enough Vanguard Marks to buy a new shiny scout rifle (so much so that I hit the weekly limit for the first time ) and had decided on the Badger CCL based on what others have said, but now there is another one in there called Another NITC which looks as good if not slightly better.
Anyone out there who has both care to comment or suggest which perks should I look out for to sway the decision (I haven't logged into the game today to check them out). I'd hate to blow 150 marks on the "wrong" item.

Another nitc is my most used gun at the moment, like it as it has reasonable impact.
