I've been running daily heroics and public events to garner enough Vanguard Marks to buy a new shiny scout rifle (so much so that I hit the weekly limit for the first time ) and had decided on the Badger CCL based on what others have said, but now there is another one in there called Another NITC which looks as good if not slightly better.
Anyone out there who has both care to comment or suggest which perks should I look out for to sway the decision (I haven't logged into the game today to check them out). I'd hate to blow 150 marks on the "wrong" item.
I had a Badger CCL with rubbish perks (i.e. no Firefly) and dismantled it as soon as I was awarded Another NITC with Firefly. I don't regret that decision. The Badger has better impact and range, but a smaller magazine which can be annoying. If I came across one with Field Scout and Firefly perks, I would happily dismantle my Another NITC. I would run an arc primary as everything has an arc shield, fatebringer would be a better choice
Good point, hadn't thought it through! Either Fatebringer or the Fang scout rifle then. The void burn will just be for the ogre

I bought the Vanguard badger when I thought that 331 weapons were going to be essential for the DLC content (how wrong was I?!) and, funnily enough, I had a go with it this morning while glimmer farming. Have to say, I didn't get on with it either. I don't ahve the other one but, I have heard people say that they like it.Anyone out there who has both care to comment or suggest which perks should I look out for to sway the decision (I haven't logged into the game today to check them out). I find another NITC a very good primary.
PS sorry I have been ignoring invites but I am away until tomorrow and have only been logged in while messing around with the remote play app on the tablet. Should be back tomorrow and need to do some serious catch up.
Edited to add this as maybe tweaked could be a way to get through the trall on hard mode with two titans bubbles and helm of saint 14

Did you guys manage to smash Crota last night? And if so anything good?, I still have the Crota checkpoint if anyone is interested at some point this week.
Nope, we narrowly missed in the end. We got to the final sword on one occasion but, had obviously misjudged it somewhere because rather than activating enragement on the final hit of the penultimate knee, he got enraged on the first hit of the next knee. That meant that Kaney had to get 4 hits in to kill him which just wasn't possible. We won't talk about the other time we got past the Ogres and someone (who may or may not have been called Speckle!) ran outside too early and, having realised their perfectly understandable error, couldn't quite make it back in without getting dead!!
We'll get it done tonight though

My thought process was:-"It looks like Speckle is on the outside of the crystal room. It must have glitched. Oh hang on..."
Alas, I'll be struggling to get on until the weekend now, so good luck tonight.
Anyone got any tips on the taking out the Gatekeeper on the Bridge section?
All advice seems to be just approach from behind and mash R2, but what do you do if he's on the centre plate/facing you and sees you as you cross the bridge?
One hit from him took me down to about 5% health and then he either got a second hit in or I got shot by an add.
I tried jumping back to dodge his hit and then coming back in, but I'm constantly worried about the timer on the sword running out?

One thing to bear in mind with the R2 smashes, is to hold up on the left stick, as you'll recover much quicker than if you do an R2 attack without moving.
Yup, I'll second this. More often than not, he will get at least one hit in if he is facing you and you'll be down to minimal health. But, keep pushing the left stick towards him (usually up but, he sometimes moves) and the R2 smash should end him without him getting another hit on you.I would advise against jumping back if (when) he hits you, just keep attacking and you should be fine.
It's either that, or just hide behind the circular things either side of the entrance of the bridge, and he'll most likely walk off on his own. Whilst messing around I've seen him walk off without the bridge even being formed let alone someone being over there. Strange AI for some reason.
Basically, try and kill him with a sword, but if not don't worry, just get him to walk off the edge.
