Why did people split anyway - was there something wrong with the Pistonheads clan?

Dunno.
I assumed it was to get a particular trophy or something. I'm easy! If I get invited to something, I'm there.

The trophy is just for everyone in the victorious fireteam being in the same clan and the Pistonheads clan was free to join, all you had to do was apply and your membership was auto-approved, so it couldn't have been that?

I don't think Anton or that Mars chap are on here, so maybe they set it up to include their non ph regulars. Unless I'm mistaken, the clan itself doesn't serve an actual purpose though other than identifying a group that play regularly. Most of the ph'ers on my friend list have moved to icebreakerss, so assumed it was just an evolution of the regular players.

I'll be levelling up my M.I.D.A tomorrow to help with the lamps, then up for raids if you want to do Templar.

There wasn't anything clique-y about it. In fact, if I remember correctly, it was to wind up Spec's lack of an Icebreaker. As such, we were proposing to change the name to Thornss.

In all seriousness, it was just a natural evolution of those that were on at the same time and ended up together repeatedly. There is a solid 8/9 of us now but we're a friendly bunch and happy to accommodate if there is room/have multiple runs to ensure we're all covered. I've already ran the Nightfall 5 times to help others.

There are too many people in the PH clan to know play styles, level of ability, communication skills and most importantly patience. This is perhaps why, as a team, we've been pretty successful with HM raids etc. We know our strengths and weaknesses. Plus my cape-less (lady) hunter likes to flirt with that lot.

It began as a raid group as we always raid together and seem to play well as a team so, for me at least, it just felt like a natural evolution (and yes, the clan name was specifically created to annoy me !!). Half the people I play with (Kaney, Mars, Jason, Anton et al) aren't on PH and the pistonheads clan doesn't have an active forum other than on here. Plus, most of the members of the PH clan don't actually play anymore.

As Sing said, we're all a friendly enough bunch and happy to play with anyone

Haha - nice try! The amount of want I had for an Icebreaker knew no bounds - it seemed to drop for everyone but me, quite often when I was playing with them!! I'm not really too fussed about the Thorn - if I can somehow fudge the crucible part of the bounty, great. Otherwise I'll just carry on tearing sh*t up with my Fatebringer

Bought the Expansion Pass this morning (couldn't be bothered in buying the ltd edition and selling mine) so I'll be blasting through those missions and new bounties to try and get up to level 31 (whilst maxing both flavours of Titan and Hunter in the process). Probably manage all that just in time for HoW to come out and be behind the game once more

Figured I needed the EP to have a chance of being given some upgraded armour from RNGesus instead of grinding to get marks and buying it all in the normal game

Also, my fireteam was set to closed for some reason - must have set it like that a while back and not changed it back afterwards, no wonder it's been quiet! Will change that next time I'm in

I shared your icebreaker lust. I was struggling with the repetiition and had all but given up when Xur sold it again, it cetainly rejuvinated my interest.

Why not buy the stupid engram from Xur with Motes and break that down?


Re clans etc,

Im easy (just ask my missus) and willing to help/play with anyone. I do raids with a couple groups and will jump in with anyone asking for numbers for fireteams.

I now have my characters up to 32 so simply doing raids for fun and energies to level up raid weapons.
