If you purchase vanguard armour, that should bump your level up quite a bit (fully levelled vanguard armour will take you to lvl 31), otherwise you're going to find all of the endgame/DLC content a bit of a struggle even if you do get it unlocked!I'd be more than happy to jump in your fireteam and help you out if I'm not doing anything else, as I'm sure would many others (feel free to add me, PSN = Speckle)

So am I the only one who got involved in the Iron Banner grind this time around?
Left for holiday Saturday morning, so only played with my titan, but still managed to get him the arms, legs, shotgun, scout rifle and rocket launcher.
I think I now have every IB weapon in the game, bar the pulse rifle, which has not been available yet.
Haven't had time to level any of the gear up yet, but the armour looks pretty cool and should at least stop my character looking like every other titan in the game for the next couple of months.

At what stage do you fail? I found taking down the Fist of Crota actually quite tough solo (level 27 at the time) and that was hitting him with several Icebreaker rounds, I'm sure it would be a piece of cake with a fireteam though, so probably the way to go if you want to get past it.Vanguard armour definitely the way to go to level up quite quickly, although you will need ascendant shards to upgrade that armour fully

The reason I couldn't do it is stupidity. I'd check my class a few times thinking it was alright and it wasn't. My glide wasn't set to optimum settings.

I actually managed it with the wrong settings. I'm now doing it with warlock jr and upon setting him up I thought "oh, I bet that was set wrong for the 1st attempt" had a look and lo and behold it was. So it took me about 2 hours rather than 10 mins

Destiny booted me out of the Nightfall this evening when it decided to force the update on me, so I missed out on completion with Lovechild and Speckle (who didn't get booted). It sucks that only a day after rolling out a forced update during Europe gaming hours that they pull the same st again. Not happy as we were close to finishing it too and thankfully the other guys did. And when I tried to re-join the Fireteam after the update found that I couldn't, presumably down to version differences.
It's not even the 1.1.1 patch either as the version was showing as 1.09 when I checked after the update had happened.
Edit: according to Bungie.net it is the 1.1.1 patch so perhaps I read it wrong on the update history

Last night it gave warning that servers would be going down, tonight no warning just booted from the game, bit of a surpriset again. Not happy as we were close to finishing it too and thankfully the other guys did. Weekly now has matchmaking and seemed a bit harder to kill some of the enemies, although I was using alt character.
Not tried nightfall tonight though
Just when you think Bungie couldn't fck this game up any more, they've changed PvP so that when you kill a player who has heavy ammo, they no longer drop it for you to pick up.
Whereas before, when you've managed to take on a HMG or rocket launching enemy and win you could extend your heavy streak by using their ammo, from now on, you get absolutely no advantage. It's gone from encouraging massive heavy vs heavy battles, to encouraging you to hide for the first few minutes after the heavy spawn and let your teammates soak up the heavy insta-kills, ready for you to mop up with your heavy once the enemy have run out of theirs.
They just seem determined to meddle with stuff that works perfectly well until they break it, whilst completely ignoring the bits that are broken and everyone has been screaming about for months (vault space, VoG bugs, lack of content, etc etc).
It absolutely baffles me.

Thanks all I've sent friend requests to most - Speckle is there an easier way to search you? As there are 490 names containing Speckle (John Speckleton, xXSpecklezXx etc). Would be good to play with others if poss as can be a bit dull solo.
Is Vanguard armour the same as legendary armour? I'm achieved Vanguard rank 2 tonight and have the guauntlet and leg amour which boosted me to lv26 but I need a commendation to get the rest. Apparently 1 commendation is awarded every vanguard rank after 3 but to get to 3 it's 3000 vanguard points?? I would like to play other games on the PS4 in my lifetime

The final knight. I've seen Youtube videos of him being owned in 60 seconds but the handcanons and machine guns they use stun him yet when I try he just runs through it and kills me in 20. When I respawn I have no heavy weapon ammo left so its futile. Vanguard armour definitely the way to go to level up quite quickly, although you will need ascendant shards to upgrade that armour fully
