2 strange things recently:
Was doing the bridge with Speckle earlier, super at full ready for wipe, "3,2,1 wipe......hold on, my super's empty?!?!"
Thought I was going mad, but it did it later. I checked the video and when I got hit by a Thrall my super depleted. I was jumping on and off the plate at the time, so whether that affected it I don't know.

Occasionally my sights follow a target that runs across my line of sight. Only very briefly, but like there's some sort of aim assist going on? It's only happened a few times recently but it's very annoying.

First Crota sword kill for me tonight. Thanks to the team for indulging me, and managed to bagsy it just before Speckle Should be on til late tomorrow if someone else wants to have a go.

There is MASSIVE aim assist in this game and my understanding is that it cannot fully be turned off. As you've mentioned, it can be a massive pain. It is most noticeable when tackling the acolytes from the crystal room on Crota. You may have experienced aiming down the sights at a pesky acolyte when a knight crosses his path and takes the aim of your gun with him.

Having come from a PvP background, this is something that ISN'T in the likes of Battlefield or at least not in the same league. I just hope it doesn't cause us lot to fracture even further when Battlefield Hardline is out. I know a lot of the Icebreakerss are planning on taking a bit of a break from Destiny (aside from the odd raid/nightfalls) until HoW drops. I think I'll deffo burn-out if I don't. I just hope the lack of aim-assist doesn't cause an issue.

Well done on the Crota kill. I'm sure it was rewarding!

I'll be on tonight- I am hoping that the hand cannon nerf isn't too bad.

You did very well sir! Thanks for running me through Nightfall/Heroic and finally Crota! My first full completion, got the raid boots and Black Hammer, deep joy :-)

Silly question - now I've done normal once this week, would I get anything from the chests by running again? Need to get a pieload of Radiant Shards to upgrade my new armor. If not, how can I get them? Do I just have to wait for next week?

Make sure you're using a capital 'S' and you should be fine. Otherwise, you can find me on the friends list of most of these reprobates

I'm in the same boat - I just feel less and less inclined to fire up Destiny these days, although I generally enjoy it if enough people are on. Raids are still fun and even Nightfalls (although my haul this week of Dragons Breath and 16 ascendent energies probably weren't worth the effort!). I have so many weapons to upgrade now and I just can't be bothered.

I'm Still not sure about Battlefield as it may be too PvP focussed for me but, I may be persuaded if everyone else gets it....

Hand Cannons still work but, shots that used to be cake from a distance either do little or no damage now. So, I thought I'd have a go with Red Death now that Pulse rifles have had a buff but, you know what? It is still a pulse rifle, which means it isn't fun to use. My Abyss Defiant was woefully bad in the Nightfall yesterday but, I don't use auto rifles much so that might be totally normal.

It is brilliant not losing rockets every time you die/go to orbit/have to wipe but other than that, so many of the changes to the weapons (shoot to loot included) are fine for PvP but, make PvE just a little less fun to play.

Ah, the "look, it's so easy" type of Youtube vids - fallen for those too They are all probably rocking exotic or good legendary guns in those vids and so make short work of almost anything.

Yep, he's quite tough and I wiped a few times trying to take him down too Weight of Darkness kills your agility too so it's difficult to avoid his attacks. I couldn't tell you where exactly it is, but I found an alcove where you could hide and re-generate where the knight wouldn't venture in to though (it was sort of a dead end cave, off to the left hand side I think). Grab a few helpers into your fireteam and he'll be gone in a flash

Vanguard armour has a higher light level than normal legendary armour (max 33 as opposed to 30? IIRC), so fully leveled Vanguard armour can get you to level 31. You need pieces of Crota's End raid gear / exotic gear to get to level 32, the current max level

Commendations can also be earned randomly in game as well as rewards for leveling up the bounty guy, just ensure you take out a full load of bounties each time you play if you can (target missions are good as they are relatively easy and give 100 rep each). Strikes off the playlist and public events as well as the daily heroic mission give you the Vanguard marks you need to buy the stuff

Indeed and on checking the Bungie Twitter afterwards, I saw a tweet timed about 6pm UK time informing users about the patch coming out - it can't have been more than about 10 mins after that when it forced the update on me

Ah well, enough bhing about it. Stuff happens and we move on but they could learn to do things it a better / more seamless way

Nope, if you've collected them all on normal then you'll have to wait until next week now, or run it on hard

I've never used aim assist as it seems pointless, shame you can't turn it off. Strange that it's only happened recently though.

No. 1 run through only. If you do it on hard you'll get loot for section clearances only ie lamps, bridge etc but nothing for the deathsinger as I think she counts as a chest for some bizarre reason.

I think you already know the answer.................MORE CHARACTERS!! Cast that family of yours aside and take your destiny duty seriously man!!

2 is the right amount for me. I play enough that only having 1 character would be a waste, as I'd be repeating stuff for no reward, whereas 3 would be too many. I might do 1 or 2 weeklies/nightfalls for no reward, but I can live with that.

I have been toying with starting a hunter to be honest, already got some legendary armor for one in my vault.... tonight may be the night!!! Time to be a man, and sleep in the back room for the foreseeable future

Don't listen to me, I've only ever made it as far as the first lamp! I'd assumed you'd get all rewards again for doing it on hard, seems a bit harsh that you don't - different run through, different difficulty and you only get the stage rewards. Suppose it slows people down a bit from upgrading their gear and hence provides an incentive for raiding again next week (aside from the fun / team aspect)

With a looming house purchase, I am trying to keep all unnecessary expenditure to a minimum, so I hope it doesn't happen . Having said that, you may have spotted that some of the usuals are already on Battlefield 4 particularly on a Saturday afternoon...

I think it will be refreshing to take a break in all honesty. It'll be nice to select a map and just shoot stuff without worrying about exp on the right weapon, farming for stuff, getting on at the right time to get into a raid, RNG, getting a team together for nightfalls and aim assist.

Levolution is frikkin awesome as well.

Anyway, back to Destiny, it looks as though Swordbreaker is a proper beast in PvE now. I'll be trying that out later. Also, rumour has it that Xur will be selling Univeral Remote tomorrow. I sharded the first but may have to dip my toe in again...

You only get the extra drops of shards or energies when completing the lamps, bridge, Crota on hard after running normal raid.

Depending on what you want the normal raid is best way to get Hunger of Crota, Swordbreaker and Blackhammer.

For Fang, Fist of Crota etc Hard is the way.

First post into this thread. Playing on a PS3 (about to upgrade to PS4) as level 27 Warlock, GT rubinho_racer. Mostly playing Crucible at the moment. I travel a lot with work and juggle a home life so I don't play as much as I like and so levelling is taking a while!

I picked up two Pulse Rifles when playing Iron Banner this week, they are Silvered Procyon MSC and Painted Neptune MSC. Oddly they are in a blue Rare box but have the Legendary <I> icon in the corner. Does anybody know why this is? Shouldn't they be Purple and say Legendary?

Also I lucked into a Legendary shotgun Secret Handshake a while ago which everybody says is massively OP. I'm certainly forever getting one-shotted in the Crucible with various shotguns but I can barely get a kill with this one. I presume it's my technique, what's the way of getting the best out of this weapon? Maybe I shouldn't care as hasn't 1.1.1 messed shotguns around somewhat?

Don't have many friends as most people I meet online level up a lot quicker and can't always get on at compatible times. Would like to try a Raid one of these days. Glad to see matchmaking in the Weekly Strikes now though.
