Makes perfect sense, thanks!

I've not bought an expansion pass yet, will wait for the PS4 purchase.

Shotguns are literally point blank weapons, basically melee range and can often be one shot kills.

Their power drops off very quickly at range though, so don't try to use them at targets beyond spitting distance.

Shotguns are hilariously powerful now. Pulse Rifles finally feel balanced.

You can now move items to characters/the vault on the app, biggest change. Absolutely massive.

Also, rumour has it that Xur will be selling Univeral Remote tomorrow. I sharded the first but may have to dip my toe in again...
Called it... kinda. What I mean is, he IS selling it but I can't take credit.

I am sure most of you take a peek at Reddit but if not, there is a Japanese player by the name of Megamanx4 (or summat) who has data-mined many things from the disc relating to HoW content, new weapons, playlists and game mechanics. From what I see, ALL of these things have turned out to be accurate- the inferno crucible playlist being the latest.

Anyway, he has also managed to find the loot table for Xur and the (pre-determined) items for sale for the next month at least, probably longer. He stated that UR would be sold this weekend as well as the Warlock chestpiece HoPF... and they are for sale for the first time. eek

I'll not say any more as I am sure there are some that enjoy waiting to see what he has, but there is "news" out there about what is and isn't on the loot table. Obviously Bungie could change this if they so wished and he has acknowledged that it will change to account for the HoW exotics but so far, they've not changed anything that he has called. Most interestingly of all, he states that HoW is due for a late March/early April release. party

As an aside, the mobile vault IS epic. I tried it last night and it works instantly and seamlessly. Very happy. smile

Shotguns are actually useful now and quite good fun to use (still very situational guns though!) but for me, pulse rifles are still pulse rifles. No doubt the buff is all good fun for the crucible kids but, they're still zero fun to use. It never had anything to do with the fact they were underpowered for me, the burst fire nature of them just makes them feel rubbish. Mine will continue to be sharded as they're acquired.

How do you move items using the app? I had a look for this earlier having read your post and can't see any way to do it - what am I missing?

On another note, last night's raid (Crota normal) was the most fun I've had on Destiny in ages! The lamps and bridge were hilarious and the 'leave no man behind' strategy (despite Singh still being dead at the start) just made it funnier!! Between us, I think we must have killed over 20 ogres, 50 odd knights and probably thousands of thrall!! I hope someone thought to save the video - we didn't move on to the bridge until we had quite literally killed everything!! shoot

The rest was pretty much a breeze with very few deaths and no wipes. First time running the sword as a Hunter and, amazingly, it did go as smoothly as it had in my head. Well, apart from the fact that I completely forgot to use blink strike on the second sword (Lovechild, video as promised: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ljeGLEpeO_4 )

Well done Singh for snagging the almighty No Land Beyond - it really is a game changer, as proven by TeamPenguin last night hehe

Should be on tonight for Crota hard smile

I ran a little test of this yesterday with my "Two to the Morgue" arc shotgun that isn't yet fully upgraded. Admittedly at more or less point blank range against a Blade of Crota knight but it stripped his shield and removed 2/3rds of his health in one shot, left him staggered and a second blast finished him off. Given that my similarly powered auto rifle takes more than a clip to kill AFTER removing the shield, then shotguns might make more of an appearance in my gameplay as being a Titan, it tends to be more "up in your face" anyhow. Was also excellent against those arc shielded guards that show up in public events.

Off to test that mobile vault now smile

May be best to shut the app down completely and then restart. Once there, go to a character (or your vault) and click on a weapon/armour or item that is NOT equipped. If you scroll to the bottom of that screen, you should see "manage item" which will allow you to send it to the vault or even equip it. So, it will be possible to send items from an alt to the vault and then pick it up from the vault, on the fly.

hehe I fired it once and then sharded it. I know, I know. The raid was good fun though. I did take a video but as I joined late (which is why I was VERY surprised to be revived at the start when you lot were at the bridge already eek) I'll only have 1/2 of your shenanigans.

Good luck with HM tonight. I'll be on over the weekend for the usual set of raids. smile

Can't get it to work - I have 'manage item' but, then only the option to equip, which I think I've always been able to do.

Perhaps you need an App update, as I have the option "Move to Vault" under the "Equip" option

Yeah there's an app update.

For anyone still on iOS6, you can't get it. The app now requires iOS7 minimum.

Seems people are getting some kick to sign in problems when using it. Me and another friend were having it, and saw it mentioned on Reddit. Not straight away, but enough to feel related.

For anyone interested, the Tower Gunsmith has a scout rifle for sale right now with "Shoot to Loot". Stock refreshes at 2pm (UK time) though

So, this Universal Remote shotgun primary - I'm in two minds about whether or not to pick it up.

The ammo isn't going to last long, the range is still woeful for any primary regardless of the buff, I really don't have space for yet another exotic where I'm struggling to think of a situation in which I actually might use it. Looks like one of those guns that is only of genuine benefit in the crucible.

Anyone got it? Is it as niche as it sounds?

When upgraded, the range was actually pretty good. It also had a great animation and "feel" to it. Having said that, it was useless in PvE which is the reason why I sharded it. This was obviously pre-buff though. As mentioned, it was quite fun running around the Crucible with 2 shotguns, so it is a no-brainer for that. smile

I'll be picking up another one- what else am I going to spend my 70-odd coins on?! Each of my characters has enough heavy ammo to last a lifetime. hehe

EVERYONE BUY HEART OF THE PRAXIC FIRE.

Even if you don't yet have a Warlock, it's arguably the best Sunsinger exotic. It also looks pretty cool. Basically boosts the effect of Radiance so all cool downs are tiny, meaning your entire group can have a possible 40 grenades whilst it's active. And Melee/super I think.

Cheers, done with almost the same amount of style and panache as me.......almostbiggrin Definitely the better strategy with good line of sight, rather than playing hunt the swordbearer.

After Speckle's tale of daring deed and camaraderie in the abyss, fighting through countless foe to revive fallen comrades, I say fk THAT!! We should have lamp races. Every man for himself, any class/perk you want, last one to the bridge plate is a rotten egg. Pushing/punching people into holes IS allowed.

Another idea to liven things up is to not use the same swordbearer for consecutive whacks on Crota, so 2 swordbearers per sword. Maybe get 2 whacks each and everyone uses the sword to kill him. Pointless I know, but easy mode is pretty easy so if nothing else it should be a bit of a shambles and open plenty of people up for ridicule.

What's people's opinion on bothering with level 36 armour at this stage? It does look useful, but I haven't got a raid helmet so would have to drop a level to use it. Would it not be made largely redundant by the next DLC?
