I'm by no means a pro, but one thing i wish I'd done differently was pay more attention to the bounty system from the outset. It didn't make much difference until i was over level 20, then i needed to complete loads of bounties to get the good quality gear. If I'd been a bit more thoughtful about it from the outset, i could have been a lot further down the road by now. For example, i tend to play Control in PvP matches. There's a bounty for capturing 10 bases, which if I been aware of from the outset I could have completed a number of times. It's a bit frustrating to have missed out, so now i eat Bounties for breakfast ().

Would have joined you, but sadly still stuck on level 21 Can't see to get any decent gear to level up. Even my rare stuff is level 16 / 17 rather than level 20

I know many don't seem to be enjoying the PvP but it really is a quick way to level up. Just load up with bounties and hit the Crucible. I've gone from level 20 to level 24 within a week. It can be fun in a hectic kind of way too and now I've started to learn the maps and some of the tricks of positioning\weapons etc it can be quite enjoyable.

You can do 20 to 21 in a couple of days with the Queen's wrath event in PvE at the moment. Guaranteed legendary gear for each mission and there's one that's pretty quick and easy (Earth strike), even at lower levels.

That's how I now have 3 characters at level 25+.

yup queens wrath is good for legendary items but also doing the tiger playlist in vanguard is good for getting rare lvl 20 items also is another quick way to go through some of the bounties

Had a go at the raid last night with a couple of friends and three strangers, managed to get to the first boss and complete the first part of that, so got some legendary gear. Not as tough as I was thinking it would be, but still tricky and needing a lot of teamwork.

The Queen's Wrath strikes are rated at level 24 though aren't they? At three levels above where I am doesn't that make them "impossible" i.e. you do no damage to the enemies at all? I guess I need to try it rather asking questions

Massive "props" (as my nephew says ) to Bokka-Bokka for the help last night.

Was getting my ass handed to me on the Queen's Wrath mission, which was also the final mission of the story. tackling these solo can be tricky.

Took a few attempts but managed it in the end. With my last Queen's Bounty "card" I scored the legendary sniper-rifle.

Boom!

Still too weak for the Nightfall strikes though. :-(

You know you can cheese the Queens Wrath missions by returning to orbit until it rolls you the Restoration (the one from the start of the game where you get the warp drive for your ship) mission which is literally a cakewalk?

Anyone fancy getting a fireteam together for some crucible matches under the Iron Banner special event?

Essentially it's a "gloves off" set of crucible matches where your kit, armour and weapons all work as intended - there is no nerfing or buffing of kit to match you against your opponents!

Seems like there may well be some good kit as rewards, too...

The Queen's Wrath event has now finished, but it selected random strikes for you to do and you got a random legendary reward for each one completed. You could game the system by just returning to orbit and selecting a new random mission until you got the Earth one, which with the right weapons could be done in about 10 minutes even at level 21.

I must have done it around 20 times between my 3 characters and still only got helmets or chest armour. Great the first time you get it, but the sniper rifle would have gone well in my armoury!

Nice idea, but if it's basically a no holds barred blastathon, unless you are level 28+ complete with a set of legendary / exotics weapons and armour you stand little to no chance? Spawn, die, spawn, die, etc
