I'm trying to do Thorn. Getting very familiar with my Trolley Problem fusion rifle. 63/500 so far so quite a bit to go. Also trying the Bad Juju one and I'm halfway through the 25 strikes. I've stopped for the week as I've hit Vanguard and Crucible Marks limit; I've been busy this week!Just saw this on the 'other' thread

Had a quick look and it seems much better than the companion app. You can easily see what gear you've got and where, all on a single screen and also save different loadouts like 'Crota fight' which will include the class, armour, weapons and even a specific shader if you want!
Haven't tested it on ipad yet though

Hard Light looks and sounds great, handles really well and before the recent patch nerfed the auto rifle damage even further was actually pretty decent. The over-penetrating and ricocheting rounds worked really well in tighter spaces, dropping mobs very quickly. Worked well in the Abyss, on normal mode at least. Post-nerf though, the damage has taken a big hit, with glass half full adding so little extra damage (just one point in PvP!) that it's an entirely wasted perk. I still use the weapon for bounties / patrols, but not for when I actually want to get stuff done.
Speaking of the Auto-rifle nerf, I dusted off my Vanquisher VIII. It's a 331 attack version, fully upgraded and on average it does roughly 10-15% less damage than it did pre patch. Bungie seem to be struggling with balancing auto rifles, they make some adjustments and turn them from the most used weapon in the game to essentially useless. I suspect they'll give them a mild buff in future, just to give them back some semblance of credibility in PvP.
Ignoring the above, I actually logged in to post - on my hands and knees metaphorically - to see if anyone would mind helping me run HM Crota's End. My Warlock is level 32, but none of the groups I've tried to join on various LFG sites will take me as I'm missing a certain exotic rocket launcher, and while my Hunter can at least solo the Abyss on Normal mode, she's only 31 and gets destroyed by the ogre in HM. Basically, I've not done Crota's End on hard yet, I'd like a chance to get my hands on some of the elemental primary weapons and I'd be very grateful if a small group could tolerate my incompetence long enough to at least get past the abyss and the bridge... pretty please?

You'd always be welcome to raid with us. To make HM consistent, 2 Gjallys in the team does help. 1 swordbearer and 2 gjally owners, leaves 3 spaces in the team for people without. Some people are obsessed with gjallys and being level 32, and for the most part it's b
ks. With a 6 man team you can afford to be a bit relaxed about requirements. Sometimes I think the people that insist on these things are themselves crap, and need people to make up for their shortcomings.
That being said, it's dead tonight. The usuals are either not on, or on battlefield. I've played a few hours of Alien Isolation and would love a raid to counter the sheer stress and genuine frights of Alien!!

I'll likely not be able to get on tonight again as I need to be able to pick the wife up from work at some point between 10.00 and 11.00pm. I should be able to have a crack at it tomorrow in between grinding Iron Banner to get my Hunter a chest piece and a Jolder's Hammer!

My luck came in on the Iron Banner yesterday, made rank 4 and got the scout rifle, its been a while since I had one last. Perks of explosive rounds and firefly. Might be my new 331 replacement for Fatebringer.
SimianWonder - There are some really annoying players out there that try to make their lives easier by requesting players with good gear. But even in hard mode its not essential, its helpful but not essential. I love the stressy sword bearers though, its funny, if things aren't going their way they'll quit. I found a game yesterday and the guy was terrible, kicked a guy because he kept getting killed by boomers.

I hit a bit of a burn out wall in Destiny on Friday, logged on, picked up bounties as normal and started a target mission. Finished it but didn't get the credit and then realised it was for the mid mission boss (Frigolis) not the end boss. Simply couldn't be bothered to start it again or do anything else, quit. Those bounties are still sat there on the character.
I really enjoy the raids though, the few I've been involved with but it's the characters on here that make them for me. I'm really not interested in doing a raid with LFG groups or via random invites. Too many stories out there of such people being complete dicks at times, no thanks.
