I've found the best PvP HMG is the original version (level 300) Swarm with Field Scout perk. It has 60 rounds in the magazine with field scout, plus another 30 in reserve. It has very low rate of fire (slightly faster than Suros Regime when aimed), but huge impact and will kill in 2/3 hits, so as long as you camp out a spot with good lines of sight and dodge the enemey's rockets early on, you can dominate for a good while after the heavy ammo drop, quite often I still have ammo left when the second heavy ammo drops, despite having been on a kill streak in the meantime.
Corrective Measure is my favourite PvE HMG, but just doesn't seem to kill as quickly as my Swarm in PvP, nor does it have the range.
I have a couple of the original version Jolders Hammer (level 300), but didn't get on with them early on compared to the Swarms I already had, so didn't bother levelling them up, but I've now got a half decent roll void 331 version which I'll give a go. I'm still deciding whether to glimmer farm and pick up a second, or get a chest piece for my Warlock.
The hammer will be a random drop in the next tournament and I already have one version, whereas the chest piece isn't available in every tournament and looks pretty cool for the Warlock, so I'll probably go for that (after an hour or so of glimmer farming

Had a blast yesterday afternoon first doing the Nightfall (sure was a interesting introduction to that particular strike) and then completing a full Crota raid from start to finish for the first time. Went pretty smoothly too if you ignore me getting lost in the Abyss AGAIN and Stimps falling down a hole, me reviving him and then me promptly falling down the same damn hole!
Good to see the bridge being done properly too, I just need to understand the mechanics a bit better as I was hanging around the death totem plate unnecessarily at times which led to a couple of deaths. Deathsinger seemed to be over before it started although it didn't help I was lurking around the left boomer tower when everyone else was on the right getting ready to rush her, I did think it was quiet over on that tower
3rd (!) Hawkmoon for Stimps and I think someone else picked up an exotic?

Spectacular glitch on VoG normal run meant we didn't have to do anything and the door just opened for some reason, weird. Then started again on hard instead and spent much time trying to get past the Templar and a chance at scoring Fatebringer. Man, we were SO close at one point - I swear the Templar's health bar was empty, can't have had more than a melee punch left in him but an oracle got us
Had to duck out at that point, so I don't know how you all got on but please don't tell me Speckle picked up another Fatebringer ......
Fantastic fun all in, thanks to those involved - this really is the best part of the game by a country mile

Equip it and go to the iron banner guy and you can reroll it for 2 mote of light. I got it the other day but kept it how it was, explosive rounds and firefly.

Probably took about 4 hours of trial and error throughout the day. Watched some videos, but couldn't do it as well as the people on the vids, but managed to devise a decent (painstaking) strategy. Took a good 30 minutes I reckon. As it wore on, I got a lot more cautious as I thought I might actually do it and get some lovely ascendant materials at the end!! Happy with FB, although like I've said before, I think it will be largely redundant for the new DLC. One to add with Vex/Vision/Corrective as old guns that I'll never dismantle though.
