That is good going. Maxed Gjallahorns, and experience of both the raid and your team do count for a lot. A few of us have solo'd the whole raid now and it seems inconceivable when we get stuck at crota, but it happens. Adding more people can create more problems than it solves, especially when the people are inexperienced or using unsuitable weapons. If they listen to the experienced people, it works, if they don't, it won't.
I've had some shocking random encounters where people won't admit that they don't know what they're doing. It only takes 1 or 2 of them to scupper a raid.
It probably did help all 3 of us have Solo'd Normal, so we fully understand the encounter.I've had some shocking random encounters where people won't admit that they don't know what they're doing. It only takes 1 or 2 of them to scupper a raid.

Solo'ing NM and 3 manning HM is no small achievement, and doing it solo means everyone is capable of any role. In Crota people can stay in their roles and still complete, whereas I think they improved Vault by changing the back 3 teleporting to 3 randoms.
Yeah, it's a hefty update. Mine started off showing 21 minutes, but now having downloaded 1.4gb it has now corrected to 48 minutes! I guess everyone is now home from work and doing the same thing. (My actual connection speed is currently showing at 21.7 Mbps, some way down on the maximum of around 38!)
On the subject of House of Wolves, I won't deny I'm pretty disappointed there's to be no new raid. They're the best part of the game because of how much fun is to be had interacting with other people in that game world. Even getting screwed over by occasional wonky mechanics (Crota, I'm looking at you!) isn't much of an issue when you're with a team and simply having fun.
Prison of Elders, if it is to be a horde mode, may be a very different kind of challenge. A few people have already mentioned it but Mass Effect 3's multi player element was on paper a pretty basic horde mode variant and it was actually huge fun, especially with the addition of several new classes over time; it required communication, teamwork and co-ordination in equal measure to survive, all hall marks of a succesful raid fireteam anyway. Yes, I'm gutted we're not getting a raid, but PoE may actually be really, really good in its own right, so I'll not throw my toys out of the pram just yet.
It will be interesting to see how the upgrade path is going to work. bungie have acknowledged they screwed it up with The Dark Below, so I don't expect we'll be upgrading and then starting re-levelling from scratch, especially with the pretty heavy implication that even the likes of Fatebringer (yet another raid primary that eludes me still!) will be upgradable. Whether or not this means we'll be able to upgrade all of our older 300 attack weapons, or that there will perhaps be a higher difficulty level available for VoG remains to be seen. I'd be very happy to have my Corrective Measure at 365 attack, it's one of my go-to heavies in PvE and I simply must get my hands on Fatebringer now!
There's a bit of a cloud hanging over a lot of the community at the moment;we were all waiting for HoW to drop, all eager to see what comes next, and the new announcements seem to have left people feeling short-changed. I'm going to be that one guy who remains optimistic, as despite Bungie's less than stellar track record with the game so far, and despite its many flaws, I've really enjoyed playing it. Isn't that what matters?

Interesting read, looking forward to the DLC. Disappointed with the PvP special ammo Nerf though. Looks like my Invective is going to start gathering dust..

Doesn't seem like a lot to keep us busy until the next expansion (September?).
+2 Social Spaces. The one in the Reef is now called Queen's Bay where you "collect Reef bounties, forge new allegiances and test themselves in the Prison of Elders and Trials of Osiris". There's also Halls of Amentet, a totally-new social space which seems to require experience in Trials of Osiris.
+1 Strike. The new Nightfall / Heroic is The Shadow Thief which takes place on the Moon. You need to board the Ketch of notorious mercenary Taniks-Syn, and eliminiate him & his strike force.
+3 Story Missions. Start searching on Earth, then travel to Venus.
+3 Quests. These are usually what we get from a Vendor.
+1 The Prison of Elders. Pits you against "the solar system's deadliest enemies," meaning there could be a lot of enemy variation – presumably not just Fallen!
+3 PVP Maps

Obviously, I am disappointed that there won't be a raid initially but, more than that I am disappointed that end game content is restricted to a 3 man fireteam. However, I'll be reserving any judgement until it has actually landed and I've seen/played it all first hand.
The raid will come later in the year and will hopefully be included in what we have already paid for.
I wasn't going to bother with the NF this week but, logged in this morning to see my shiny new vaultspace and lovechild needed me to hold his hand so, Icarried him through ran a couple of NFs with him. Got some soon to be sharded scout rifle and a 3rd Gjallahorn for my trouble so, not a complete waste of time for once!
I'm thinking of picking up the Borderlands collection in the meantime, any of you lot got it? I'm particularly interested in the co-op side of the game which is useless if nobody else is playing...

Now that's just plain greedy One day a NF will deliver me one as they seem to be cropping up more and more.I'm thinking of picking up the Borderlands collection in the meantime, any of you lot got it? I've played almost all of the Borderlands Collection in some shape and form on the PC platform and it really is good but don't expect the polish of the Destiny FPS experience, it's a bit more gung ho and jokey in the way that it does it. Some really good humour in there though which is a refreshing change.
I bought Borderlands: The Pre Sequel on X360 originally and hated it because I just couldn't get on with the controls on a console compared to a PC, so much so I then bought it for PC and sailed through sections that caused me much grief on the Xbox. I suspect however that the revamp for latest gen consoles has improved that side of things and it's getting stellar reviews (from both review sites and players)
I'm still playing too much Destiny to warrant buying the Handsome Collection especially as I can't move my saves over like I could if I'd been a console player (I've got some high level chars of all types on the PC). Having said that, I'm such a fan of the game, I'll probably cave and pick it up at some point. It's very good value if you've never played it before since it includes every single piece of DLC for both Borderlands 2 and Pre-Sequel so there is a ton of content to get stuck into.
Can't help you with the co-op experience as I've always thought of it (and played it) as being a solo game
Cannot believe you've got 3 Gjallarhorns, Speckle! Destiny is seriously mocking me over the that particular rocket launcher and fatebringer.
I think I have every piece of exotic armour, every VoG weapon except Fatebringer and every exotic weapon except Gjallarhorn.
I've dropped 4 Icebreakers, 3 Patience & Times and 2 of most of the other exotics, but the two best weapons in the game elude me!

I felt the same way about Icebreaker for a very long time!! RNG is indeed a merciless mistress but, it is like the lottery....it is the 'what if' that keeps us coming back for more!!I think I have every piece of exotic armour, every VoG weapon except Fatebringer and every exotic weapon except Gjallarhorn.
