Hit rank 3 IB and picked up a couple of Efrideet Spears to add to the collection. I already had the void one (rolled for PvE), but now have an arc for PvP (Final Round, Rodeo, Field Scout switchable to Perfect Balance once ammo is picked up) and an arc for PvE (Field Scout, Mulligan and extra ammo).

Nice one. I want to buy 2 of everything, but it works out to be pretty expensive. I'll get the minimum then see if I've got time to glimmer farm for doubles.

I slept last night, so I expect (hope!) to be a bit better today.

Don't forget to get normal crucible bounties as well, and to equip anything you're upgrading when handing them in.

Have you guys seen the Trials of Osiris stuff?! I'm well excited about it!

3 v 3 PvP which is a variation on Skirmish i.e. teammates can be revived. However, it is based on 2 minute rounds with the first team to kill the other team the winner. Best of 5 rounds. No matchmaking and teams are paired based on connection rather than skill i.e. laggy lobbies shouldn't exist. We'll see about that.

I appreciate there is a healthy amount of people against PvP but the weapons and armour (particularly the helmets!) look amaze-balls. thumbup

I've not watched any of the promo stuff, I'll check it out whilst at work over the weekend.

I've been grinding the st out of IB for the last 2 days and have come to the conclusion that I suck!! I don't however suck at PvP in general, but put me in a team and it all goes to pot. This is the 1st time that I've PvP'd in a team, and for some reason it just ain't happening. The annoying thing is that I've been on an hour or so before other people, played 5-6 games, solid k/d (average 1.7ish), decent kills (average 18ish) and then failed as part of a team. Luckily the 2 chaps that I've played most with (are they your friends Youngsy? Lc and Reese) are both very good, and friendly and forgiving in equal measure. Does anyone else find this? I have had good moments, but nowhere near as many as I would expect. Maybe I just need to play more as a team and it'll click.

I re-rolled a sniper and got final round, and faster load when empty. For a 3 shot sniper I think that's pretty good. Shame it's solar.

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

I now have two exotic weapon "bounties" and having completed the first half of both, they now both want me to complete a PvP element. I hate PvP, why oh why are they trying to force me into this element of the game. Very annoying.

I feel better for that smile

Your K/D was fine yesterday?

A lot depends on your connection - my K/D varies from 6+ to 0.2 during a day, there's no way my skill level varies that much during that period and after a while it becomes very clear when you're not winning battles that you should be due to connection issues. Today I seem to be really struggling.

Whenever Jase joins my connection goes to crap too, for some reason?

Your sniper roll sounds awesome for crucible. smile

For Thorn and Bad Juju by any chance? I'm in the same boat and have put off the PvP element for months now. I can't really put my finger on why I don't really want to Crucible as I've enjoyed PvP in other games (and been alright at it) but with Destiny, I just don't "fancy" it confused

Methinks you're being kind, although I do appreciate it. I have read that a wired connection does/can improve your game considerably. My game, as part of a team, was a lot worse than I'm used to though. More team play should solve it.

It took me about 8 rolls to get those perks. The middle perk tree isn't great though. High calibre, field scout and skip rounds. Usually I'd like field scout, but I won't use it as it doesn't fit with the spray and play, and final round perks. Need to save plenty of motes for the pistol, I'll be aiming for 1 solar and 1 void Fatebringerbiggrin (Dunno if that's achievable though).

Field scout is a great perk - I'm told it allows you to pick up more ammo before you're full, then you just swap to one of the other perks to go back to 3 round mags, but keep the extra ammo!

I'm all out of motes - spent over 40, mostly on the two snipers, but I also dropped a Jolders Hammer which I rerolled quite well for an Arc PvE HMG.

Also dropped the ship and have reached rank 4 on the Titan, so have every IB weapon, the ship, and complete armour for that character. I've got another 2x the ship and two pieces of armour each for the other two, so I'll probably grind them now to get the helmet and if I've got enough cash, the highest rank shader (Gold Spiral).

Interesting. So spawning with field scout automatically gives you more, or you have to pick some up first? I use it, but not really paid much attention to the mechanics of it other than it increasing magazine size. Obviously you don't want a large magazine with final round, so be good if you could increase the amount of ammo you've got in reserve, then switch back after spawning.

I was ever so slightly jealous of your JH drop, especially as you've probably got a truck load of them alreadythumbup

Must say, I've really enjoyed IBing as a team just a shame I've had to cram it in due to work.

It's a shame IB armour doesn't have a 3rd perk, a la exotic and raid armour. Vendor armour should have basic perks, but I think that IB is enough of a commitment to warrant end game perks.

ps, has anyone got any motes of light they can lend me? bandit

For those of us still chasing Gjallarhorn, this might be worth a look...

https://youtu.be/yIhbYzru_b0

Basically, if you have a legendary heavy engram, store up a load of blue engrams and decrypt them until one pops up with a legendary (anything excpet materials), then instantly open the legendary and it will always decrypt into an exotic. With a heavy engram, odds of it being Gjallarhorn should be 1 in 4 (though in reality I suspect Dragon's Breath and Truth are weighted higher than Ghorn, I've had several of those, but no horn!).

It apparently also works with other weapons classes as well, so if you need a Patience & Time, Plan C etc, try it with a legendary special engram, if you need Last Word, Red Death, try it with a legendary primary engram.

Now, in the interest of fairness, I'll point out I tried this this morning. I decrypted 27 blue engrams and not a single one turned into a legendary quality item, so the video creators suggestion that 15 blues to one legendary is a good ratio leaves something to be desired. I'll save up some more blues and try again next weekend, I'll update then if it actually works.
The conversion rate from blue to legendary is much higher than 15:1, in my experience. I horde blue engrams from all 3 characters and decrypt them all through one character, quite often 5 or so at a time. I suspect it's much more like 30 or more to 1.

Also the conversion of a heavy to an exotic resulting in a Ghron is much less than 4:1, there's only one type of heavy engram, so they can convert to maching guns too. Even if it were even, that makes it more like 6:1.

So, at best you're looking at 180 blue engrams to 1 Ghorn on average and then you've got to get a legendary heavy engram to convert in the first place!

Having said that, I'm so desperate for a Ghorn I will be trying it! beer
I too am mighty desperate, so am trying anything!

As it happens, I do have a legendary heavy to hand, earned from a Daily story mission earlier this week. By luck, I put it in the vault, where it still lies!

With regards to conversion ratio, as I said, I think the 15:1 suggested in the video is way on the low side, and I'd even suggest that 30:1 may be as well. I was going to suggest something like 50:1 based on my own experiences.

The 4:1 for the Horn factors in that an exotic heavy can only be one of four weapons; Dragon's Breath, Truth, Thunderlord or Gjallarhorn. Super Good Advice isn't attainable from an engram, so all things being equal you've got a 25% chance of getting Ghorn from the engram assuming this works as intended. Even then, I suspect the odds are weighted towards Dragon's Breath and Truth, just because I've had four or five of each drop, yet only one Thunderlord and I've seen even seen a Gjallarhorn drop once in the wild!

Just a quick update: took me 63 blue legendaries to pop a legendary item from a blue (plus however many before I started counting, so more like 70+), I then immediately converted a purple HMG engram and got...

2 ascendant shards.

Really glad I bothered! laugh

I don't think I've even logged into Destiny so far this week. Every time I turn the PS4 on, Borderlands seems so much more appealing that the same old strikes and raids that I've done a thousand times before. I really hope HoW gets me motivated again but, I'm not getting particularly excited about it for some reason - probably because we have waited too bloomin' long for it!!

You have to pick it up first.

I think I have 5 Jolder's hammers now - 3 current version and 2 original version (level 300)! biggrin Then again, I have spent a hell of a lot of time grinding out IB. The last tournament was the first I didn't reach rank 5, only because I didn't want anymore autorifles! tournament to date.

IB with a group is much more fun than doing it solo, which is a real grind. frown

Speaking of which, how the hell do you get melee kills with a Hunter? Seems like even if you shoot a guy first and then melee him it's not enough for a kill? confused

(I'm going to start another post with)............Hhhhhhmmmmm. Just looks like team deathmatch to me, with the exception of no revives. I used to play Hardcore HQ a lot on CoD and this seems like a weak version of that. Hopefully it won't be a small map, blink/shotty fest. I do like the scoring system though and I do think it's got the potential to be good when one side's weak and tactics and careful play will be important. Weekend only though? Doesn't work for me.

Does Bladedancer not count?

Reached rank 5 last night, gold shader and IB gear look pretty sweet on my Warlock, don't think I'm going to bother with Hunter though. Had loads of fun last night and played better. I think I was trying too hard earlier on in the week and chasing kills that weren't there. Friday night with friends and a few drinks, I was more relaxed. Got a Hammer last night as well with stability and ammo perks (after a couple of rolls), so pretty solid perks but not really going to shine in either discipline (but PvE biased I'd say).

Has anyone got VoG gatekeeper CP, preferably on normal? I've got 18 motes left, so 9 rolls and I want to get 1 more Spear and 2 Lashes. 20 minutes farming is enough for a new gun, so if I don't like the rolls and I've run out of motes, I'll do a few 20 minute stints a day to get new guns with hopefully better perks. If not, does anyone fancy a quick run through to get the CP?

Loving IB this time around. I've been rocking Bad Juju and it's an absolute beast. My stats have been up and down but managed 25 kills and a 3.57 K/D (top of winning team) in a match yesterday. I think that's pretty respectable. I've also discovered the benefits of the HMG rather than a rocket launcher and my first legendary sniper dropped the other day so I've been using that in Crucible as opposed to a fusion rifle for the first time.

Want to get the helmet and chest armour. Will buy HoPF from Xur too.
