Does this make the whole Crota thing totally redundant now?
From an armour point of view, I suspect it does (although can you upgrade it to the new light level?)

Am I now the only person in the game who doesn't have a flippin Gjally? biggrin
No there are two of us cry
Come back when you've got 1,000 hours in the game and still no Gjally! wink

Seriously though, just keep hitting the exotic drop points each week and it'll eventually drop for you. It just takes time and a lot of luck.

Agreed, was a great session thanks chaps. It's definitely a much more enjoyable and entertaining experience when you play as part of a team.
On first impressions, I'm quite happy with the new content, at least what I've seen. Although as mentioned, it is mainly re-hashed original maps, it still feels quite fresh to me.

Gonna make an effort to be more sociable and join the chat parties. So hopefully see you guys online at some point.

I cracked on for another hour or so after you guys called it a night and did both the level 28 and 32 Prison of Elders. It's a great addition to the game, very big brand new areas, plus some totally new stuff/puzzles/challenges going on. It's pretty tough too!

Am now at level 33 on one character and wondering whether to start unlocking everything with another, or have a crack at level 34 PoE?

How does it work with the Treasure Chests - are they just an exotic chest that requires a key?

Seems like you get all the stated rewards (Armor/Weapon Core, Etheric Light) from the two normal chests and then you if you unlock the treasure chest you get a shot at an exotic (I dropped a Red Death on my level 28 one and a Queen's Weapon on the Level 32)?

If so, I'm glad I didn't bother key farming for days as I have all the Exotics up to TDB and there aren't all that many new ones to get in HoW.

Sounds like the game is at last challenging again.

I saw before I called it a night you guys hit level 33 which is awesome.

When I finally got on I ran through the story with Youngsyr and Kryptonkid.
I really enjoyed it.

Defo have to farm those keys, as there is no weekly reset so you can go to treasure room as often as you like as long as you complete the round of POE.

I think with TOO starting Friday the POE will quieten down a bit.

I still have two NF to do and keen to have a go at the POE tonight.
Cheers Giggylo, very happy with the level 33 and will be on for a bit tonight again, probably do the nightfall with the 2nd character and some key farming. Cannot do as late a night so might skip any PoE until Friday / weekend but then again no reset smile

That's a shame. The first thing I did was level up my g-horn to the new maximum and it absolutely destroys everything.
Stupid question as I was only on for a brief spell last night, WHERE do you ascend your gear ?

You do it on the weapon screen from within your character, you don't have to go anywhere to do it. There is a new orange symbol under where it tells you what elemental damage it does. All you need is an exotic shard.

In the upgrade screen, there's a new node on the left, it's yellow.

For exotics it costs 1 exotic shard, for everything else it's an Etheric Light.

Managed to crack Level 34 PoE with Carbon and Reese this afternoon - after a lot of attempts at the final round!

Two titans with armour bubbles and a hunter with golden gun to generate orbs seems to be a good combination. After trying to go to the right hand end of the arena and duke it out there for ages unsuccessfully, we headed left and nailed it on the second or third run. It seems a lot less hectic there - this video shows the spot:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ziPATuFkXOk

Weapons of choice were Gjally for witches and ogres, blackhammer for the boss and vision of confluence/light in the abyss for primaries. I took Super Good Advice and that was useful for quickly clearing any mobs that tried to swamp us.

Carbon was only level 32 too, so seems like that's a good spot to do it.

By the way - it is possible to join a PoE team on the final round - both Carbon and Reese joined whilst I was in the airlock between spawns on level 34. Committing suicide and the other player joining whilst on the summary screen seemed to be the key.

Agree with Speckle. Rehashed levels and enemies, with nothing particularly new. PoE is fun, but I'm not convinced about the longevity of it and I don't think I'll be grinding as much as I have before, although....................................................I have got a level 34 and 33 alreadylaugh (Tim was the first) Smashed level 34 PoE a couple of times today, so be hitting top tier tomorrow.

For once I'm actually pleasantly surprised by the new content - specifically Prison of Elders. They've clearly put a lot of work into it and it shows. It's a great experience playing it - really takes some thought, teamwork and tactics at the higher levels. I hope level 35 continues the theme and brings some new mechanics to the game.

Not sure about replayability though - if there are only 6 or so PoE rounds that get used and selected randomly at any level then people will work out how to do them very quickly and they will become like the old Nightfalls, more of a grind than a challenge.

Trials of Osiris should bring some new challenges too.

The new kit doesn't really inspire me much though - I suspect I'll eventually just end up using relevelled old gear, some of it from the original game, rather than the new HoW stuff.

I do like PoE. The last 2 level 34 fights had us stumped for a bit and there was certainly a sense of accomplishment when we won.

None of the new stuff has particularly piqued my interest either, which I'm happy with as I won't be compelled to grind for it. I'll sort/dismantle/roll stuff tomorrow and see what comes out of it.

The lack of 6 man content is definitely a downer.

Haven't managed to get a huge amount of playtime in the last couple of days; managed to smash through the story, which was far better than Dark Below's lacklustre effort, and the level 28 PoE, and that's been about it. PoE was a lot of fun, if a touch easy at level 28, but I'm not convinced it will necessarily have the longevity of a Raid, given it's comparative simplicity. That said, the rewards are pretty good... in my first main chest I pulled - Moog and Penguin, look away now! - another Gjallarhorn.

In terms of ascending gear, I've got the Vex Mythoclast, Gjally and Ice Breaker all at 365 attack, and a couple of exotic armour pieces as well, but no etheric light yet to ascend the armour. Getting all three classes to 34 might be a bit of a slog!

The fact that Lovechild and no doubt others already have two chars at 33 and 34 already in just over a day since release suggests longevity of new content is, well, limited at best.

I've managed some of the story missions so far and picked up a couple of crap auto rifles fron Vanguard and Crypto packages & that sidearm reward seems to miss more than it hits at any sort of middle / long range. Quite like the mix of proper story missions and stuff you do whilst patrolling although the first few levels I've done feel like an intro into horde mode / PoE

Oh and for all those waving their Gjally-wangers around, I think the acknowledged and appropriate response is GET BENT! biggrin (c) Flat-out, all rights reserved

Always up for the Fatebringer runs Moog. Do what I do and send a message to everyone online and see who comes back.

Hopefully going to try level 35 today. I'm taking my Dragons Breath in and determined to find a use for it, or die trying (I suspect the latter). In retrospect though I can think of a couple of times where it may have been useful in level 34, but chickened out and turned it into a Gjally fest as usual.

Once I've cracked level 34 with my Warlock my titan will be level 34 and I'll be well up for having a go at level 35 with you. smile

First proper go last night. Level 28 and 32 were no problem but, we failed on level 34 (well, gave up and went to bed after multiple failures!) The arc burn mine diffusing round was our sticking point which I'm told is the toughest of them all. Fatebringer wasn't powerful enough, Fang doesn't work well on this map and my oversoul never got levelled because it is a sucky pulse rifle. I'm told however, that this is the weapon of choice for that section.

No checkpoints sucks!

The rate at which I have run out of vault space again is laughable as new weapons and armour seem to be dropping quite frequently.

Cheers, although I suspect most people will now be caught up in the "run to be a 34" and PoE-ing for the foreseeable future and takers may be limited especially if they already have FB, but no harm in asking

Cough, splutter, what? Fatebringer wasn't powerful enough. Wash your mouth out Mr Speckle, I won't have it biggrin (I suspect once you have it up to 365 it will once again bend space and time)

Quite looking forward to some PoE action, just need to clear the story missions first thumbup

Remind me of when I left the fireteam? hehe

L33t skillz. yesshoot

In all seriousness, I ran a level 28 and 32 with Mars and the Gigolo quite comfortably later on. Twas great fun and I managed to bag the PoE Hunter's cloak! biggrin

I think I am going to hang onto my armour and weapon cores and see what I can bag over the next few weeks. I'm not bothered about grinding to level 34 this time. As soon as you do so, there is little much else to do/get.

Nice to see us all back to playing as often as we once did. smile

I assumed you'd jumped in with Kaney when I left and arc-bladed through the remainder without any wipes.....did that not happen? confused

Not sure if I'll be on tonight but, keen to give it another try if I am! shoot
