Well, my headseat has 'been dispatched' at last! I am a 90% yes for Sunday but, might have to give it a miss depending on how exhausted I am after my race. Friday night would be better for me if anyone fancies it.
I should say I am definitely in the 'no idea what I'm doing' camp as far as the Raid is concerned but, happy to take instruction from anyone who does. I'm a lvl 27 Hunter at the moment and one more ascendant shard could get me to lvl 28. Does anyone fancy helping me with the daily heroic on lvl 28 later tonight? I tried to solo yesterday's but, couldn't quite get over the finish line (to but it another way, I got my @rse handed to me by the Vex!!)
I couldn't play seriously without my "surround sound" Sony wireless headset - it gives you a massive advantage when it gets tough in either PVP or PVE by telling you which direction enemies are approaching from! My first legendary engram dropped for me yesterday, so was very chuffed, even more so when it decrypted into this exotic!

Had a couple of fun games with Snubs last light - sorry for cutting off abruptly, I hit the wrong button and left the fireteam before saying 'good game' and all that
Yet again, I did a public event this morning and there was nothing with the postmaster for my trouble!! They must be teasing me because they know I need 1 more mote of light for an exotic engram this weekend!
The cheap headset that arrived yesterday is outstanding! Much more immersive than TV sound and the voice chat quality is pretty good too. An absolute bargain at £23! It is powered off the controller so, there is a cable involved but, I didn't even notice that once I started playing.
Yeah, good games. I couldn't tell if you'd left or i left. I stayed online a bit to do some farming on Mars and am now up to Level 27. Got through the Tiger Strike easy enough despite my suicidal arc-blading. But that level 24 daily was surprisingly nails at the end. So many Praetorians. Incidentally, I've just found out that Praetorians were the bodyguards for Roman Emperors

Once you have reached level 20, rare armour you find will have a "light" stat and the more light you have the higher the level. Remember to upgrade the armour to give you a little increase in light too. I now have full upgraded rare armour (albeit not all level 20) and I'm level 22.5-ish
In order to level further, you need legendary gear which you can buy from the Vanguard or the various factions, or exotic gear from Xur or obtain via legendary engrams which are *supposed* to drop now and again (not seen a single one in all my time in the game)
Keep on grinding!

Cheers for that although I tend to play at rather random times and almost never in the evening hence why I don't see most of the "regulars" who post on here I'm grinding away doing daily heroics (got battered by yesterdays, blummin' Minotaurs), public events and bounties in order to get enough vanguard rep and marks to buy something half decent. I think I'll faint if if ever get to see a purple engram drop however!
I'll be sure to invite you if you happen to be online at the same time as me though
Add me broadspeed1 like you I'm not on 'normal' times, mainly weekday mornings and between 11 and midnight at night.I'll be sure to invite you if you happen to be online at the same time as me though

Nice, got a 'rare' sniper dropped today, now to level it up.Played a few 'rumble' games earlier, lobby full of 26-29 level players, quite happy I never came bottom and got a few 'rare' armours.

Did exactly the same last night, farmed some spirit bloom and got gold in a public event to get the last ascendant shard I needed to upgrade my exotic armour, I am now at level 27
However I then had a go at the daily on level 28. How hard could it be right as the previous dailies have been tough but not impossible at that level. It was all going well too till I got to the end, BLOODY HELL, HOW MANY MINOTAUR'S?? Needless to say I got b*m raped.

Enemies do teleport up there, but only a few at a time, allowing you to pick off the rest (including the minotaurs). Void weapons obviously a must too.

Anyone want to do the weekly nightfall?
I've done it with one of my characters already so know the trick to it, but want to do it with my two others.
You do need to be at least level 27 and have solar and arc weapons though.
I don't mind trying it later. I've got a solar HMG and an arc fusion rifle (neither legendary though). From what I have heard, a cautious approach is the only way and a bit of cheesing at the end - does that sound about right?I've done it with one of my characters already so know the trick to it, but want to do it with my two others.

That's it - you basically have to try to pick off the mini-bosses one at a time by using the layout of the maps to isolate them. Then you cheese the the end boss by staying in the rooms before the main hall.

I'll pretty much just follow your lead and do whatever you're doing then Then you cheese the the end boss by staying in the rooms before the main hall.

What helped me and Speckle was that I strategically died at the lowest point in that area. It's a shallow bit of water right at the bottom. Speckle, realising my tactical genius, came down and revived me. Turns out that there're some big caves down there with decent cover that allow you to put some distance between yourself and the Praetorians / Minotaurs / other forms of Death on Stilts. From then on we hosed them down no problem
Yes, that is EXACTLY how it happened Did the daily last night (at level 28) with a couple of fellas from here. Jumping up onto the roof of the building the ghost is in, is the way forwards. Only a few harpies teleported up.
I couldn't resist jumping down with my arc blade at times. Generally didn't end well.
May be on for the nightfall strike later.
As an aside, the official Sony headset (with 7.1 surround) is frikkin awesome. They really do help with pin-pointing movement which can help escape tricky situations. They are quite expensive (~£70) but it was a good way for me to get rid of some b-day vouchers. I'd recommend them for anybody looking. Extremely comfortable as well.

I tried my hand at the Daily Heroic just now, I'm a level 23 Warlock and have been strolling through the level 20 Dailies without much trouble. I'd been moaning elsewhere that my drops and loot have been crap, I've found nothing that imporvoes on ym equipped gear for at least ten hours, so someone suggested bumping up the difficulty of strikes and Dailies.
So, that I did. Managed to make it through until the end with extreme patience, before they unleashed the huge Knight on me. And the thralls. Well, the level 24 Thralls can kill me in two hits, the first hit knocking down to a sliver of health. Any other hit, be it from another Thrall (who always spawn in groups of course), or splash damage from the Acolytes or the Knight himself and I'm dead. I died at least a dozen times - mainly because I'm using a hand cannon, and to do any damage to the Knight you need precision hits, which means aiming, which in turn means losing radar, which means you get Thralls in your face when you least need it, like when you're reloading.
Finally beat it with a huge slice of fortune (the Knight decided not to move around, so he was stationary target) after an hour and a half and my reward? A blue engram. Great, it's bound to be some kick ass gear after all that effort. Nope. It's a level eighteen piece of chest armour that's comfortably worse than what I've already got. For ****'s sake, it's a level 24 mission, I'm level 23, so why is the reward only level 18?! What good is that? The RNG utterly hates me.

Might be on later this evening to give this a try too. I have a pretty decent solar sniper rifle and also an evil arc rocket launcher. What time do you guys usually go on?
I'll be on from around 5pm to 7pm and then I might put in a late shift if people are up for Nightfall from 10pm onwards.Gassing Station | Video Games | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
