Current legendaries won't be obsolete straight away. Everyone said that a Fatebringer with 300 attack would be useless for the Crota raid but, it wasn't. 365 guns will still be useable in the same way as they were before but, their shelf life will be limited. I shall keep all the favourites for the sake of nostalgia but, I want....no, I NEED to have something else to play for. Some awesome legendary/raid weapons that I want as much as I wanted Fatebringer before I had one.
Prison of Elders got the PvE rewards horribly wrong, they can't afford to make the same mistake again.

What!!, Didn't realise were losing Dinklebot!!!, Did they say why?, Is he too busy filming for GOT or something?
Given that ghost was silent for the entirety of The Dark Below and House of Wolves I'd assume they'd only contracted him for the vanilla game and that moving forward they needed someone A) Cheaper and B) more experienced with voice acting. After all, Ghost is your sole companion for parts of the game, he's your narrator for large chunks of the story and he needs a voice. Nolan North is a great choice, esepcially as he's already doing VA work in Destiny.

They are even re-recording the original story line with the new guy (not sure if that has already been said!)
Yup, I read that too. It's so that any new to Destiny players get a seamless path through the game without wondering why the voice changes at TTK. Dinklebot has essentially been cut from the game entirely.Blimey, it was all quiet on the western front last night! I jumped on around 21:30 hoping to persuade folks into a couple of nightfall runs only to find that there was hardly anyone about
Wasn't all bad though as courtesy of Mr. Zombie I picked up the Gorgon chest 3 times, well 4 actually if you count the fact I did it twice with the same character first time around. Noob. Sorry about that
I'd love to report that a Gjally dropped, but my post would all be in capitals if it did, so you know the outcome. Shards, glorious shards - let's hope they're worth something when TTK comes around.
Sims, I think you may have to resign yourself to the fact that the Crux is to you what the Gjally is to me, it may never happen Ergo the second it drops for you is the day I pull a 'Horn from a legendary engram ...

Well yesterday was quite sad. Logged in to see nobody playing at all. Not one.
The next 6 weeks are going to be painful. I missthrowing trip-mines at you guys.
I predict there is going to be a lot of that over the next 6 weeks, I think many of us have hit a wall. The next 6 weeks are going to be painful. I miss
I shall probably pop online later for a few rounds of Rocket League though
I got to thinking about what i'd want out of TTK last night. I think that Destiny has become a victim of its strong focus on leveling up, both in terms of characters to be able to take on the highest level raids, PoE 35 etc and guns. Leveling up is additive, but a difficult game mechanic to get to work in the long run and sustain interest. You either allow indefinite leveling, in which case some people never catch up, capped leveling as Destiny does and people wonder what to do when they reach the cap, or reset leveling which is what TTK proposes, which has people asking what their previous leveling was for?
I would prefer a much stronger focus on equipment and tactics, with bosses that can be defeated in a number of ways depending on the equipment / guns / armour etc you bring with you. It exists at present but is quite limited. For example for nightfalls, your fireteam might ask which character you're using, often to make sure you have a Titan in the mix, but beyond that? They might point out the any burns so that you can match your guns accordingly but it's all pretty limited.
Ultimately, i'm saying the question needs to move away from 'are my stats high enough to bulldoze my way through' much more towards 'do we have everything we need across the team for the gameplan we're planning on using?'. That could be through more specialised guns, armour or new types of equipment. In turn the focus on getting new stuff would be to unlocks more approaches to winning.
I also think bosses need to be much less 'rinse and repeat' than they are now. I had a run through PoE 34 last night. This week it's that Vex chap with the little Vex you have to shoot to be able to break out of the detainment shield. It's the first time i've tried that boss and don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed it and was mighty satisfied when we completed it (much less so when i got another Dreamwaker from the chest), not least as we'd faced 2 bosses before getting to the last one. But fundamentally the Vex boss is a rinse and repeat mechanic that once we'd all figured it out (only one of us had done it before), became quite repetitive. It was still satisfying and we each ended up with our own role to play. For example I sniped the big guy while someone else hunted down the little guy and broke the detainment shield. But if i did it again tomorrow, we'd do it exactly the same way, huddling in the same corner.
So yeah, more variation, less focus on leveling

I can't see a way that they can keep the casual player and daily player happy - either there's not enough to do to keep you interested or there's too much for the casual player to keep up.
Apparently they are moving the levelling system towards rep, rather than gear for Year 2 though, so that will be interesting to see how it plays out.
