It is such, such good fun.
Fixed that for you That's what I ended up playing- Mr Kane

So far not single drop of destiny kool aid this week but I expect some rocket cars is in line this evening.
Fun raiding as always last night. Jumped into NM Crota right at the end, did very little aside from swapping weapons about, Crota went down and picked up a useful post buff, TTK ready, Suros Regime I think my original Suros was the very first exotic I got (from Atheon) so it's nice to have the upgraded version now.
VoG HM up next and a bit of relic training! Who knew that wielding the relic was great fun (well, those that do it all the time do). So much fun that I'm running around smashing the crap out of all things thinking I'm invincible, completely forgetting about the small matter of removing the Templar shield
Right, take aim aaaaand damn, hit a rock More smashing, this is great, bit of a cleanse and dammit, I'm dead. Turns out you aren't invincible after all ...
Relic back in the hands of the much more experienced and more experimentation, this time with Dragon's Breath - I think that's a viable launcher against something like the Templar due to the burn over time damage and given that he doesn't move. Mine was only partially upgraded though (312) Yeah, it's no 'Horn but it was nice to use it in the field for once

Xur is selling Bones of Eao today! Not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing, as I now have every exotic item in the game, so nothing to gain from any Nightfalls, PoE, weeklies or Raids.
Pretty much the only thing I've got left to do is max out the Grimoire score, but that involves monumental levels of grinding (100 Rumble wins!).
Xur also has Eternal Warrior (titan helmet), Voidfang Vestments (Warlock Robe) and The Last Word (Hand Cannon).
Engram is for chest pieces.
He's down past the speaker in the Tower.

For those looking for more information about TTK, IGN hosted an interview with Deej at Gamescom and the video can be seen here: http://uk.ign.com/videos/2015/08/06/destiny-the-ta...
Spoilers though as it shows a bit of the first mission you'll face. It also has quite a lot of Crucible action on a couple of the new maps and it shows off all of the new subclasses supers and abilities and they all look pretty damn cool. I think I'll be focusing on my Titan though; those solar hammers look a little bit OP
For those that don't have 18 mins to watch it all, these are the key points I heard:
- You'll start TTK at the level you are now. There was a fair bit of speculation around other boards that everyone would be bumped down to level 20 and you go from there, that is not the case
- Level cap is 40 and levelling is now done by experience not gear. The more you play and do in game, the quicker you will level up. Fantastic!
- Every player, new or veteran, gets a booster to allow you to quickly level one new character to the level required to play TTK. What that level is wasn’t disclosed, but it means you can start a new character and play the new content straight away
- Light is still relevant apparently. Something to do with how powerful you are in combination with your level
- They want you to play with the new weapons, indeed you will have to but they are also putting in a way that you can archive your treasured year 1 stuff rather than having to bin it. No more details than that I’m afraid
- There will be all sorts of faction specific missions to do, much more exploration required around the Dreadnought to unlock things, it’s going to be “massive”
- Don’t expect a Gjallahorn replacement – they recognise that this was just too OP and it dominated the game to the detriment of other weapons / load outs. They want players to have a bit more choice and variety
- The Gjally nerf – was only mentioned in passing by the interviewer, but he said it was to do with the tracking ability of the wolfpack rounds. Perhaps they are going to make them much less accurate and act a bit more like cluster bombs, who knows
Having seen the footage, the new abilities and this information, I personally cannot wait for TTK

I must have moaned a lot that's didn't have them as Lovechild messages me this morning, probably a cruicible moan when getting killed by one
In some ways I am disappointed as it gives less reason to do things when someone sells something you have been after. I shan't complain, will be handy inTrials.

I won't lie, I'm a little gutted he's selling the Bones of Eao, I quite enjoyed being a special snowflake for a few weeks at least! As said previously, they're a great subclass neutral exotic for general use, and I'd recommend anyone who doesn't already have them picking them up.
Don't worry mate, we'll always know that we EARNED our Bones of Eao After being distracted by the double payout heists in GTA I got back in to this yesterday. I'm still not 100% sure how levelling past 20 works but I'm Vanguard rank 2 now so I can buy the nice armour that the trainer guy has. Is there a quick way to get vanguard marks? I did the daily story thing yesterday and today and I've been running the strike playlists but you don't get a lot of marks do you .
Vanguard marks are pretty slow to accumulate, mainly by the strike play list and daily mission, you can also get them by doing public events. Use destinypublicevents.com and it will let you know with pretty reasonable accuracy when and where they occur, its quicker than doing strikes.
Have you joined one of the three factions Zed (Future War Cult / Dead Orbit / New Monarchy)? If not i'd do so straight away. You'll probably find you'll level up and be able to buy armour / weapons from the faction faster than the Vanguard route because pretty much everything you do contributes to your faction rating. A couple of hours in the crucible completing 5 or 6 bounties will increase your faction rating a lot. The same amount of time raiding will only increase your Vanguard rating a tiny amount. Faction leaders can be found in the Tower and you need to be wearing either a bit of their Class Armour or displaying a faction banner to collect the points. There's no reason not to!
Edit: Note that once TTK comes out, the best approach may well change...

Yes I have seen you online a couple of times but on GTA. If you see me on and want some help on the story mission of public events then ping me an invite - skeeter1600eS

I've not really got involved with the Crucible as I don't like PvP. Do you have to be good at it to level up or do you get points for trying? .
Ah, a kindred spirit! Quite right mate - PvP is where all the degenerates like to hang out, PvE is for us cool kids Seriously though, if you're not much of a PvPist, stick to vanguard - I've never levelled up any of the factions and it really hasn't held me back in any significant way.

Ignore Mr. Speckle The Crucible can be very handy for levelling up stuff (armour, weapons, your character, etc) and no, you don't have to be very good at it. It took me an age to do any proper Crucible-ing and it was the Thorn bounty that pushed me into it and I'm glad it did.If you specifically want Vanguard gear, then the Crucible isn't helpful as it neither gives you Vanguard rep nor marks. But as Snubs has said, it's a great way of getting faction rep / Crucible marks if you want something from the factions instead (they only take Crucible marks, btw)
I play almost exclusively Control when in there and that gives you 6 Crucible marks for a win, but also 4 for a loss so it's kind of a win-win really and they soon mount up to be spent with the factions or indeed with the regular Crucible quartermaster if you don't want faction stuff
You get a fair chunk of XP for each match too, win or lose, which makes levelling anything a piece of cake. Throw in the not insignificant drops of engrams, legendary weapons, motes, etc and even the chance of exotic weapons, it's worth your time at least giving it a go IMO. Rewards, like the rest of Destiny, are not tied to your actual performance so you can perform badly and still potentially walk away with a Gjally .... (not that I have you understand, but they do drop)

See, spoken like a true degenerate Crucible is the marmite feature of Destiny. It definitely isn't for me but, that doesn't mean it isn't for you. I think I've spent about 8 hours in the Crucible altogether, which was more than enough for me to know that I hated it. Plenty of opportunity to level everything up outside of the crucible, it certainly isn't a requirement.
But, you should try it before disregarding it - I know lots of people who love it (yup, my friends list is awash with Weirdos!!)
