I should be on tonight around 7pm, so if that time works for anyone I will give the daily or maybe even the nightfall a try. Have decent solar and void rocket launchers (both legendary). Could also do with completing some public events if that is the way to go to get ascendant shards (couple of upgrades should take me to 28)

Happy to jump in if I am around and also do the weekly heroic (again!) on the hardest difficulty. You're guaranteed 3 ascendant materials I believe. Quite enjoyed the weekly, this week!

Is nightfall a raid? The three man fireteam is not very good when you want to play big games.

The first time you complete a public event at Gold level each day (10am to 10am) you receive 1 ascendent material at the postmaster.

There is also a chance to get more ascendent materials for any public event, possibly by how quickly/how many enemy you kill during the event (seems a bit hit and miss to me).

The daily heroic guarantees you 2 ascendent materials at the level 28 or 1 at the 26.

The weekly heroic guarantees you XP, vanguard rep and strange coins. No ascendent materials are guaranteed.

Nightfall is a random legendary level reward plus 500 rep.

Nightfall is a strike (3 man team), it's basically the same as the weekly heroic mission, but comically hard.

You normally need to find a way to cheat the mission!

How do you find the 'heroic' missions? Though I think I'll get creamed doing them.

Thanks to Speckle & TeamPenguin who tried to get me through the weekly tonight - I have to agree that it was practically impossible!! I'll try and level up for the next time so I can last a little longer than I did :-)

My apologies to Speckle too, after having a few attempts at the weekly and we started ditching out - I was making my excuses for leaving into what turned out to be a muted microphone, so it might have seemed like I flounced off without saying anything.

That was seriously painful, going to have to get some upgrades on the go even my rockets were not taking the witches out and I every time i turned around one of those damn exploding A**holes would be there, combine that with my shoot first think later approach equaled a lot of deaths (and swearing lot os swearing, glad I was mostly on mute).

Got up to level 8 last night, did some tough missions (one with help from a level 20 friend) but i did a hard one later on my own which took about 30 mins.... very tough!

That weekly is insanely hard!! No apologies necessary for abrupt departures, I keep doing the same thing by accident

The witches are crazy! Even 4 shots from the Golden Gun wasn't taking the them out, which is just ridiculous (although, I doubt I managed many headshots as I was way too busy trying to avoid taking fire!) Not sure if you guys could hear my constant swearing - I strongly suspect you were doing the same!! Don't think I'll bother trying it again, it has reached the point where it isn't fun anymore.

I did manage to solo the daily on 28 though (quite a bit of luck and a bit of cheesing at the end!) but, yet again, all I got was ascendant energy!! C'mon Destiny, I need Shards!!! At least I managed to get a mote of light this morning so, an exotic engram is the plan

I've been having a great time building up my Warlock (lvl 16 so far). I've got some legendary armour waiting for him at lvl 20 but, I'm getting more and more tempted to dismantle it for shards to get my Hunter up to lvl 28!! Must resist!!

I can sympathise - I desperately need shards to upgrade armour across my 3 characters and Destiny clearly knows this: I have 35 ascendent energies (and counting) in my vault!

I dont have anything on tomorrow afternoon so i aim to get a exotic from xur as i have 21 modes of light . I need to get my rank 2 vanguard ,so if anyone wants to do dailys ,weeklys and nightfall il be on to do them . lvl 27

there are 4/5 "one time" chests on one of the planters (video on utube) one of the chests has a strange coin.

it is an auto rifle this week so i will give it a miss as i have a decent legendary one.

When I needed 'just one', I got it from the gold chest in the tunnel on Mars. Pretty much dead ahead when you spawn on patrol and on the right hand bend (inside the tunnel, it goes left, then right), the chest is located up in the ceiling, sort of on the apex side

The exotic auto rifle that Xur is selling this weekend is one of the best in the game for Crucible due to its perks (more powerful when aimed, increased impact and more powerful bottom half of magazine).

I'm thinking about picking up two (so I don't have to move it between characters so much)!
