My Grimoire score is 3230, and I'm primarily missing a load of ghosts and PvP related bonuses, ie stuff I'm not bothered about in any way, shape or form. I was surprised to see though that I've only got 90 Ogre kills and 58 Hydra kills, I'd have thought those numbers would be much higher having done Crota's End about sixty or seventy times and run Archon Priest Strike at least twenty or more. Maybe it only counts if yours is the killing shot?
Yours has to be the killing shot and apparently respawning Ogres and Hydras don't count - so any Ogres in Crota's End aren't counted.I'm not sure that yellow bar versions of Hydras count either?
Nightfall being generous again this week - three runs netted (me):
Monte Carlo (2nd)
The Last Word (1st!)
Patience & Time (3rd)
So that's 3 more exotics to go with the three I bagged last week. Not that it really matters as in a couple of weeks time, we'll only really be interested in the year 2 versions and whatever mechanism is in place to acquire them.
It was nice to give the soon to be redundant Gjallarhorn a solar burn Nightfall outing though, if only it had turned up months earlier I swear I heard the Last Post playing in the background somewhere ....
Still, up and onwards - Taken King pre-ordered yesterday. Bring on those flaming hammers and green & blue engram drops that you will actually be excited to see now (at least for a bit)

The only reason I've pre-ordered is because when the Dark Below launched, I hadn't pre-ordered and it took a good 3-4 hours to appear on the PS store, and everyone who had pre-ordered we're happily playing away. Not good as my time around then I had limited playing time.
Yep, one of my reasons also although chances are I don't think I'll be playing it until the morning of the 16th, so less of an issue. Pre-orders also get a Suros weapon pack which you might as well have if you are going to buy it anyway. And as a heads up, this tweet from Bungie:
"Thursday September 3rd, Destiny will be offline for maintenance starting 8 AM PDT. Expected completion 2 PM PDT" - that's 4pm to 10pm UK time
The roll out begins ....
I still haven't pre-ordered TTK but, I think I probably will some time next week. I don't plan on wasting as much time on it as I did in year one though - go casual or go home (eh Singh?!)
Still thinking that Trials continuing at the weekend will still make Destiny feel broken (for me at least) but, we'll see.

Don't get me wrong dude, it isn't always voluntary- lately I'm up to my eye-balls with "soft-furnishings" , however, I do have a little chuckle to myself when I see people race through a lot of content in 6/7 hour sessions every day and then moan that they have nothing to do. Go outside, go drive, watch a film, anything to break it up. You're really not going to miss out and it will last longer. ...yes I get the irony of booking the day off for TTK but I didn't do so for TDB or HOW.

The tide is turning. I played ToO on Saturday for 3 cards and didn't bother again. Kaney, Jase and Benny only played as Mars wanted to go Flawless x 3 (they did, he didn't ... much rage). Otherwise, they were very done with it. I played Iron Banner but would have gladly done a raid or even () a PoE instead. In fact, Benny and I just went on patrol later on whilst they played Fifa or something else. Flat-out said:

I made that mistake last year so, this time around I will make the opposite mistake of not doing nearly enough and being hopelessly under-levelled! ...yes I get the irony of booking the day off for TTK but I didn't do so for TDB or HOW.

I'll reserve judgement but, I suspect that Trials will get refreshed somehow with new maps, all the new weapons and Supers etc. (and Mars will always want to go flawless x 3 ) which is fine, and great for those who enjoy it but, as it is only on at weekends, it'll mean I won't get to play much with the guys I started out playing with, which is a shame. I'm not going to spend my Sundays hanging around waiting for people to be ready to play the same content as me - that is what made Destiny feel broken the last few months.Fingers crossed you're right, and the new content will change all that
Yeah, I think when King's Fall lands a lot of people will migrate away from Trials. Raids have always been the best part of Destiny, and a shiny new one that boasts to be their biggest and best yet should mean that everyone is fighting to be the first to get stuck in and claim whatever shiny rewards are held within.
The stream has just finished, and it was way better than the Strike reveal last week.
- They finally showed the heavy swords being used properly, and much like using one in Crota's End, they switch you to a third person view. The one LacedUpLauren was using was a 310 attack exotic variant (which makes the 170-ish max of year one exotics including the mighty Gjallarhorn) look rather less mighty, and it absolutely wrecked face. I can see swords being very in-demand.
- The various mechanics in the boss fights look pretty interesting and varied, and it all looked genuinely fairly tough on the tier 2 encounters, even with a well-equipped fireteam. Tier 3 encounters could really take some doing...
- They showed a sneak peak of the new raid, King's Fall, which launches on 18th September. Yes, only three days after TTK. That will give us a few days to get on level, then the weekend to get stuck in. I can't wait.
The raid reveal was only a brief glimpse of what to expect...

Waiting for the Court of Oryx reveal vid to hit YouTube, but I'm actually surprised that the raid is out on the 18th. I would have thought it would be at least a week after TTK maybe even two. Hardcore players, you have 3 days to get to the required level (and of course acquire the necessary gear) but I'm sure a few out in the wider community will be level 40 within just a few hours ...
And to Speckle, if the raid releases Friday evening, I'll bet not many people will be playing Trials over that particular weekend I hope to get in there early, really want to try the raid before the inevitable spoilers appear absolutely everywhere

You are probably right. But, I'm pretty sure that I shall be away that weekend though so, won't be going anywhere near the raid until the following weekend at the earliest.I am pretty sure that this time around, I shall be the one lagging behind all of you. But, that's okay as long as I still have (interesting and useful) things to do in 6 months time
