Having said that, didn't know that they were exotic class items ... scratchchin
Yeah, I'm a sucker for stuff like that. I would have bought a lesser edition of TTK, but knew that I'd likely have bucked like a cheap alloy wheel and bought the extra goodies anyway, so though 'sod it' and went the whole hog.

Well, that was a waste of an afternoon. Did another two Crota HM runs (taking the total to 36) without getting the Crux to drop (obviously), then spent another few hours eventually getting Skolas down, only to get no reward from it. No weapon, no Elder Cipher. Note to Bungie; this is partly why people don't like Prison of Elders, the rewards are either non-existent or woefully insufficient compensation for the time invested en route to earn them.

Lovechild, you'll have to apologise to your brother for me, I really wanted to help him through but it just wasn't happening.

Funny thing, the chap that joined us after our first guy left was super-agressive, far moreso than anyone I've ever done Skolas with before. He was instructing us to largely ignore adds and burn Skolas to get to the dismantle mines segment as fast as possible, get the mines done, burn Skolas, get the mines done, finish off Skolas. It was very frantic as the adds were rarely being thinned out, so even moving around the outside of the arena was fraught with peril, and we ended up with both Warlocks on the team using Self-res as a clutch to get the second set of mines done, but fair play it did seem to work. It's a high-risk, high-reward approach to an encounter which normally rewards patience. Well, I say rewards... see first paragraph!

Don't be silly man, I'm sure he appreciated the effort. He's not going to have optimum load outs due to not having the game long enough so it'll always be a bit of a carry. Aggressive can obviously work (modifiers dependent) but I prefer the measured approach. When we did it for the first time, I wanted to try a two stage approach rather than trying to destroy him in one hit, then the inevitable return to airlock and wait for synths to cool down.

You're a braver man than me. I said I'd do it, but with someone else experienced just to get it over with quickly.

Reading your comment about the amount of raids you've completed sans crux, I did a bit of destinytrackering to quantify the injustice of me being without a 4th Horsemen (I've not chased the exotic drops for quite a while, so the feeling of injustice isn't particularly strong, I'm just sat at work bored).

I did delete a warlock so the figures are a slight approximation due to lost stats.

Crota:
Raid completions - 70
Deathsinger and Crota - 140
Would have done more crota CPs than deathsinger, so maybe 110 raid CPs.

Nightfalls:
48 since then and now, probably done 40 of those.

PoE:
35 completions (is the small chest an exotic chance? Didn't open the big chest too much as I didn't bother grinding keys).

ToO:
48 since then and now (can't remember if it started same time as HoW).
Probably played half of them and would have got a least silver + flawless runs - 40.

My fag packet calculations work out at 233 exotic CPs without the shotgun. wkers.

Another non-productive day.

Got the last of my Weekly Heroics done this morning (the last we'll get? There were rumours there'll be no Nightfall or Weekly next week!) and encountered this oddity...

https://youtu.be/sLRbTbPRPYc

As the description reads, unfortunately though, that didn't end the mission. On the contrary, we were then unable to proceed into the Walker fight, so had to rocket ourselves to reset the encounter. Bah!

Did my final Crota HM run as well, still no blasted Crux after 37 attempts! I was actually pretty happy with that run, especially as I was on Warlock, so I saved it and thought I'd leave it here for those who haven't yet done sword or wish to learn...

https://youtu.be/7KttkcbQrAo

It's not the entire encounter, just the important bits, with various notes in the description as to the different phases, though I'm sure most of us are familiar with them by now!

Yeah, that made me chuckle. So many lost hours...

Came across this as well, also had me sniggering to myself. The wife thinks I'm quite mad.

I just realised that I'm working away from next Monday till Friday, so no Taken King for me. You'll proably all have done the raid before I even fire a shot.

I will be in a hotel with fast wifi all week though, so what is this game like on the Vita? Is remote play worth bothering with? Never used a vita but may invest in one for this. My home internet connection isn't the quickest, so will that make it a waste of time?

Need decent upload at home to make it worth while.

You can do it with an Android tablet too.

Remote Play is pretty good, but you have to use the touch screen to use melee and grenades, so you can't keep both hands on the thumbsticks and use those abilities at the same time. It's fine for patrols and general low level play, but I wouldn't consider it ideal for serious play, ie Iron Banner, Raids, Nightfalls etc.

Don't get me wrong, the Vita is a terrific bit of kit, but unless you plan on buying some other games for it, remote play alone isn't reason enough.

Unless you have the hands of a prepubescent girl, you'll need one of these as well:-

...otherwise your hands will start to ache after 30 mins. smile

* thinks of a joke about The Sex Pest and the hands of a prepubescent girl.........realises it's not appropriate and decides not to post it * Besides, we all know that Shane likes boys!

Just installed a 2tb hard drive to PS4 so I can save all the nude pictures he sends me. Keep 'em coming!!

Just take your PS4 and an HDMI cable with you - most hotel tvs now have hdmi inputs.

This looks promising, can someone recommend me a android tablet, for this remote play, so when SWMBO is on heat about soaps, I can at least play on it on my sofa....

And another question, would this tablet work in a hotel with good wifi, and would I need to take my PS4 controller with me?

Nexus 7 modified remote play app, dualshock 4 app, and take your controller. It has onscreen buttons but they're useless.

I have no idea if Vita is better, but it's 'passable' over the Internet with ~7mb upload.

Fairly sure it uses local when on the same connection, I'd have to test to make sure it isn't going over the Internet.

Have you met my Fiancé??? She's like Megan Fox crossed with Vicky Pollard!!, I would happily smash 5 hours in Destiny in one go, the time goes by quite quickly. My OH is best when she's quiet and a TV is the only way that happens. The main reason for a tablet is when I work away I can at least go on the PS when im in my Hotel room, im off to Bahrain next month so it will be useful to that. The Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet compact is the one im looking at, you can connect your Dual shock to it, and play near enough 1:1 on it. I have Fibre Infinity 2 at home (40 down 11 up) so should see virtually no lag.

Bloody hell, son. You went for a lass that looks like Matt Lucas and is as dumb as they get? No wonder you are on Destiny so much.
