To be clear, it wasn't wallys we know on my team hehe , just ransoms running hopelessly in to a field of shotgun shells trying to hit someone with a sword handle. Normally I don't mind but I needed the points and starting a game loses you a point so leaving wasn't an option.

I was hoping for a nice gift but was very disappointed with the motes of light to add to my warlocks 586, the cruicible experience is 75 over the standard bounties 50 though.

Still not found the perfect Trials primary setup, scout rifles are covered with my treads upon the stars and Jade Rabbit, Hawkmoon is better for me than the ace of spades for hand cannon although I haven't levelled up my 310 last word yet, but pulse rifles are still lacking.

I sense Titans being popular in trials.

Just found a legendary engram which decrypted into a pretty cool cloak for my hunter. It is the Sola Flayer Mantle and is like the cloaks that the Flayers wear in the strike, red hoops over the shoulders and then the actual cloak is solar energy.

Well I like it smile

I really like Red Death - speed reloads and starts healing you immediately after a kill.

Sorry if this is boring for all you 300+ raiders but I'm at mid 265 now. smile

Good thing is I finally have a Y2 The Last Word so am happy again as I love this HC. The bad news is progress seems to have slowed down quite a bit as I seem to be in no man's land, too lowly to go raiding but too high to get regular decent drops from the Quests and Strike Lists. Also the Heroic strikes are pretty tough at this light level as I don't do enough damage so they can take AGES. Luckily I was carried through a couple by some pretty decent randoms last night.

The OH is back so I can't put in the marathon sessions that I'd like for that final push to 300. Oh well hopefully I'll get there in the next week.

Focus on building up strange coins and legendary marks - then buy 280 exotic/legendary piecese. Should give you a good boost in light level. thumbup

Yep did exactly that to get The Last Word Y2 and an exotic armour piece. Need to concentrate on building up more LM and SC for next weekend now but the quests that tend to give out LM in PvE are rather convoluted and seem to take ages.

PvP is quicker for earning LM but I just don't have the right setup for it as HC's have been severely nerfed it seems and everyone seems to be rocking AR or SR. What's the best weapon for PvP in people's opinions so I can concentrate on trying to get that this week?

I did one of the quests which needs you to complete 5 strikes and from each one I got at least 2 blue engrams from each strike, and lucky to get 1 purple from a strike too.

Turning these in saw me go from about 240ish light to 277 pretty quickly without having to 'endure' PvP.

Run some strike playlists. After five or six, you'll likely have at least twenty blue and a couple of legendary engrams which will get your level up in no time.

Cheers, I actually quite enjoy PvP as it reminds me of Halo a bit (unsurprisingly) so don't mind putting in the game time on that but just feel a bit outclassed in terms of weapons at the moment. In 1v1 encounters I seem to loose out to the rifles guys which wasn't the case previously.

I've been running heroic strikes too but at the low 260's they are pretty tough!

Just need to stick in their I guess till I get up to the 290's then I can start raiding.

Court of Oryx is best for loot, if you dont have Rounes just loiter in the area till others come along. You dont get drops each round but there is a chance plus there is plenty of xp to be had.

I'm unlikely to be able to get online again this evening, which only leaves me a couple of hours in the morning to finish of the raid before reset. Anyone about 08:00 or thereabouts and fancies giving a first timer a hand with...

Daughters and Oryx himself?

Honestly I think you'll struggle to get those two checkpoints done in a couple of hours unless you have an experienced fireteam.

You could probably get the first one done, but there's a lot of mechanics to learn for each of those.

Definitely give it a go, but just be realistic about what you can achieve. smile

We're gonna do a couple of runs at reset if there's enough people on. Feel free to jump in Sims.

Got the first of the two roadblocks out of the way, but couldn't get the Big Bad down before reset and the group had to split (pesky Americans, keep moaning they need to sleep!) but as I was in the raid as reset, I did manage to retain the final CP. If anyone fancies skipping to the big guy and just getting it done, I may be able to assist! Failing that, happy to run fresh - my rewards for the first run were paltry, be glad of more!

Or not. Had the CP during reset, went to orbit and back in to check it was still there, it was. Logged out to change character, then back in and CP is gone. Never mind.

That basically, life as you know it is about to change. Remember that free time you used to have, those other hobbies? Well, you can forget about all of that, your Destiny life has just begun wink

Seriously though, I would just create a character (or maybe two) and get stuck in - post any questions you have here (you will have lots I'm sure). Most of us have in excess of 1000 hours in the game now so, I doubt there will be much we can't collectively answer.

Have fun and, welcome shootthumbup

Completed the Chaperone quest last night.

Thats a great strike on this mode, proper tough.

Weird this is you dont have to kill both bosses in one go. We managed to down the first one and wiped, and on the next run we popped him again and it awarded us the quest...................SWEEEEET

Literally that strike is one of the most stressful things I've done on the game, so many shielded enemies, and no where to hide! The gun is worth it though, was using it at the warpriest for the captains and very nearly taking them out in a clip!

Cracking days raiding gents, even if not everyone got the drops they were looking for. My newly earned spoils help get my warlock to 302 light, with hunter and titan at 299 and 298 respectively. Also worth noting that I managed to bag no less than six exotic engrams en route with strategic use of Three of Coins, though not one of them was A) anything new, or B) over 290 defence/attack, so all were either sharded or infused.

I only need a few more Hadium Flakes for my Touch of Malice as well, so I'll be farming those tomorrow. Not sure I can take any more Destiny today!
