Youngsy, what's the dynamic with squadding up? For example, if you and Pilchard are rampaging through the ranks is there any incentive for you to join me on lower rank missions? Or do I have to hope that randoms fancy joining me for a mission?

Maybe I am expected to play most of the missions solo? I only managed a couple of hours last night and probably won't get more time in until late next week so won't get my head around until everyone else has ranked up a lot.

BTW What class did everyone else choose? I went with Titan but also spent some time playing as Warlock.

Tackling missions with players with vastly different ranks is a bit tricky - your weapon power increases greatly with each rank, so a level 20 is going to whoop everything in sight if you play a Level 6 mission, for example, whilst a level 6 will find they need to empty entire magazines into enemies to kill them.

Not to say that a level 20 can't play the missions with a level 6, it's just that the level 6 may find it a bit boring and the level 20 a bit boring. I'm more than up for it though (and I'm level 20 ).

Ok so, I'm currently a level 6 Hunter (was this a bad decision?) and I seemed to get myself stuck on one particular level 6 mission last night. I keep getting killed in the 'no respawn' area but, only after a good 15 minutes gunplay and then have to try it all over again! Am I right in thinking I have to get playstation plus if I want assistance from a fireteam? How do I go about recruiting people to help me?

Good question speckle, I managed to level up to 6 last night as well but it looks like a fireteam is the way to go on some missions. I have a PS plus but not sure how to build a team.

If you have PS plus, you can just go into 'roster' and create a fireteam and open it up to either 'friends only' or 'public'. I'd be happy to join you, although I'm not very good!!

Got in a few games of multiplayer at the Crucible last night. I went in expected to get a hammering from higher ranked players, but we were all around the same level and i gave better than i got. Well, up until about the 8th game anyway when I was getting obliterated all over the place.

For those struggling with the campaign, it might be worth ranking up in the Crucible, then going back to those missions with better guns and armour? I'm level 8 now (Hunter) and have just got a new assault rifle that's a lot more powerful than the previous ones

Looking forward to getting involved in some fire teams

I notice that on the "Select Destination" screen, there is an option there to Invite Friends - I assumed this is where you can call in people for help on a specific mission although I don't know whether than needs a PS+ subscription too (I don't currently)

I'm a level 7 Hunter and happy to help if people want to add me although I tend to play early evening rather than later on

I can't imagine playing this game alone. Playing it with 2 friends. The difficulty scales with more people, so you might find it harder than on your own.

The levels thing will soon not be an issue as the cap is 20.

I think you have to have playstation plus if you want to create a fireteam for people to join. Not sure if you need it for the crucible.
