I've got enough for another legendary weapon but, I am torn between 3 at the moment. I fancy a scout rifle because everyone I play with seem to use them extensively and always get more kills than me. Or, the fusion rifle because they will kill wizards (I F**king hate wizards!) and I don't have a legendary secondary yet. Or, a legendary handcannon - mainly because they're awesome!! COmments welcome smile
This is mine:

I'm only part way through the upgrade tree as it seems to take way longer than for blue weapons. I think once I have all the power upgrades it goes up to about 320 attack. The explosive rounds i could take or leave, although they do look good. The next unlock is for keeping the rader on screen whilst aiming, which would be good.

The accuracy means you can pick up headshots from range and get some decent damage. When there's only a few people about it's great, but when there's a lot, particularly if they're right up in your grill, it's not as good, by which i mean easy to use, as an auto rifle. If you're playing in a team you can utilise it's strengths (good damage at range), so it's a good bit of kit. If i was playing strikes as a lone wolf where you're guaranteed to get swamped at some point then i think the auto would be better. Ideally you'd carry both and change as necessary, but this is my only legendary or exotic weapon frown

Also, a few hours shooting with it and my trigger finger is knackered...

Have some great games with Love Child and NocturnalJon last night. That weekly heroic on level 28 is a bit errrr tough!! I think our strategy and gameplay were pretty sound but our weapons just weren't doing enough damage. At one point both lovechild and I were unloading fusion rifle and sniper rounds into a Praetorian and even then it was taking ages to go down. I have two decent legendary primary weapons but my secondary's are only rare's so I desperately need a better sniper and fusion rifle I think.

We had a much better time on the daily at level 28, it was tough but some solid and sometimes desperate play got us through so thanks for sticking at it with me chaps. I think lovechild had done the daily already so sorry you didn't get anything for all your hard work!

Up for another go at the weekly or nightfall at some point, after I get some better weapons. smile

Oh and I have see if I can get my mic working, I could hear you guys chatting away and felt I was missing out. smile

Get some void weapons, you'll do 3 times the regular damage. I solo'd the Nightfall last night (remember the enemy health goes up for each additional player, so it's not impossible) after a few goes to work out a strategy for the last boss, ended up not dropping down to the final arena and picked off the minotaurs from the top, there is one that spawns behind you every 20 seconds or so, but he's quite easy to deal with, then it's just a case of avoiding the splash damage from the boss and you can take him out with about 10 300-damage void sniper shots.

Yep we were using the same strategy but the sneaky one who turns up behind you was taking all 3 of us out as we just weren't hitting hard enough and he was pretty much able to one shot us. I've just picked up a void sniper rifle, it's only a rare but should be OK once it's levelled up. Quite keen to give this another go with the right weapons.

Amen. I reached rank 3 of the FWC last night and then purchased this:-

Great and useless in equal measure (and the attack power isn't that high). hehe

Still, the FWC gave me this for reaching Rank 3:-

but mine causes void damage. Properly tooled up with a good blend of arc and void damage weapons now. shoot

Was good fun.

I did it earlier with TimH and a friend of his. Tim and I sat on the ledge, whilst matey took care of the minotaur. I didn't think for 1 minute that the minotaur would be so tough. My void fusion rifle was doing a pretty good job on VoG, but didn't touch the minotaur on the weekly. I think Tim's mate was a level 29 though.

Jon and I have a history of being rubbish at that strike. I suggest you get a better fireteambiggrin

Garry those are legenary weapons mate, Exotic weapons have a yellow background (and some unusual perks).

I've spent a huge amount of time on the game and I'd say that for getting up to level 28, solar weapons are the most useful, particularly sniper rifles.

However, for the Vault of Glass, Void weapons are almost a necessity.

Scout rifles are a good primary for PvE, but useless in the Crucible. If you're buying a scout rifle, get one with the "Field Scout" perk - it gives you a huge magazine to dish out relentless punishment. biggrin

Anyway, here are a couple of my beasties:

Scout rifle with permanently active radar and max ammo:

Scout rifle awarded during the Raid, check out the perks: fully auto, extra damage to oracles, max ammo and additional stability and best of all it's a primary with an solar damage (one of only two primaries with element damage in the game, I think)!!

Solar sniper, max ammo, quick reload and exploding headshots:

Void sniper from the Raid, max ammo, quick reload, exploding headshots, additional damage to Oracles:

Speaking of weapons, has anyone kept the strangers rifle? (the gun you get for completing the story)

It was awesome when I first got it but now it's been far superseded by my legendary scout rifle so is this thing worth keeping or better to scrap it for parts?

I've kept it, but stored in the vault. But I'd agree with what you say. It's very weak in comparison. Plus bulky to use (blocks a lot of view).

But whilst we are talking weapons, does anyone have Thorne (exotic hand cannon)? Is it worth it? I have Hawkmoon and don't rate it, at all.

This puppy is my go to weapon when I'm in a spot of bother. With a similar rate of fire to an auto-rifle and the Field Scout perk it has enough ammo in the clip to stop a train!

I love Thorn personally. Love the sound it makes ("kink!") when fired but it is useless in the Crucible. It does need a power boost and one is coming, apparently. For PvE it deals 400+ damage per shot for precision hits so I usually use that and my scout rifle.

Nice guns fellas. thumbup Good points made, re scout rifles in the Crucible. They aren't effective. For that, this is my weapon of choice:-

A usually tote a scout or pulse rifle for PvE as they tend to hit hard but still have a reasonable rate of fire in those situations where you need to spray and pray.

However these weapons are pretty useless in PvP where the auto rifle seems to be the ONLY viable primary weapon. Wish they'd do something to balance this out a bit in PvP as I prefer the more skilful weapons to just spraying people with bullets.

I think in the second to last update the lowered Auto-Rifle power and upped Scout Rifle. The also lowered shotguns. It didn't make a noticeable difference at all.

On another note, how are people getting these pictures up?

Some great weapons getting posted on here, but the one that stands out for me is Flat-Out's Scout Rifle. 510 attack with none of the power upgrades yet? Google tells me that the exotic Scout Rifle has 300 attack. That 510 seems exceptional. Maybe all clan weapons come with some serious stank.

Totally agree with the comments about scouts being useless in PvP. One of the sights i unlocked was effectively a red dot sight with no zoom that i thought might help. It didn't. I stick with auto/fusion/hmg or auto/sniper/hmg, the latter particularly for the moon map which is very open.
