So, a raid group of one then?!
I'd probably get furtherBesides who invited you back?

I doubt even Keith Vaz would be up for that.
You've never complained you slut. Not too bothered about Triumphs as:
A)Challenge will probably be a ball ache.
B)Still got to do the Court of Oryx bounty thing and can't be arsed.

I think he said his name was Bungie...
That's ok then. See you on next Friday then buddy!Dick Dastardly said:
If there's more than 6 of us then why not form up 2 teams and have one big party chat, so we can help each other along? Can you fit 12 in a PSN party?
Think it's 8.I know Pappers and his bro have got it. My brother and Adam have, although my bro isn't sure if he'll be high enough light so he's going to play a bit between now and then. Speckle IS getting it. 2 full teams would be good.
I might not be on too much at the beginning of the week so was gonna hit it Thursday evening onwards. I'll be on most of the day Friday and will be ready when it drops (presumably 18:00???).
Yeah, party chat is limited to 8.
I see no reason why we can't manage two full teams with room to switch between groups in chat every now and again to give people st about how badly they're doing, or why they're wasting time punching LC off cliffs rather than working out the mechanics. I'm meant to be working next saturday, but I'm trying to swap so I can commit to a late night session and smash as far through the raid as possible.

I logged in this morning to remind myself how woeful my light level is (pretty woeful at 316) as I basically haven't played for 6 months apart from a single run through PoE and a couple of Nightfalls.
I assume that when the DLC drops, it'll be pretty easy to increase light by running the new story missions etc.
I won't be raiding on the first Friday but, I'm really not in any hurry tbh

Ventured back into the game today to nudge vendors & factions up a bit on all characters and noticed that there were quite a lot of people in the Tower sporting what I can only describe as "glowing stink flies" circling their heads. What's that all about then?
Lots of engrams were dropping but as noted previously, decrypting at daft low light levels although blues were turning into (low light) legendary items more than usual, good for marks post RoI I guess. I've got tons of crap in my vault that will need to go after Tuesday, loads of year 1 exotics, year 1 and 2 legendaries, etc. I have a hoarding problem
Hopefully all of this destruction will allow me to aquire items to level up a few things in short order, but I'll be focussing on my Titan who is at 322 at best at the moment
New raid is recommended LL 360, so I need to gain nearly 40 levels in three days of casual play, hmmm

We are gonna need something stronger than beer ...........
Got it ordered, expect I will on a bit in advance playing some catchup on the light levels.
Private matches enough to lure Speckle into crucible.

Let me think....my regular Destiny friends list includes the likes of Kaney, Adam, Reece, Singh and Benny....I wonder how much I would enjoy a private crucible session with that motley crew?!!Got it ordered, expect I will on a bit in advance playing some catchup on the light levels.

I'm still wavering - the thought of grinding for light levels before I can attempt the raid is getting less appealing by the day!

On the plus side, you'll improve more playing with good players than you will playing with those of us... slightly less gifted!Speckle said:

You're merely delaying the inevitable, Speck. If TTK post April update has been anything to go by, you'll have overtaken the current cap of 335 is a couple of days.Stop pussy-footing around, get stuck in!

I managed to sort out the grain issue just by adjusting the calibration on my TV (had to dust off the calMAN though!) It's still there, but much less intrusive than before, so even if the apparently imminent patch doesn't resolve it, I'm good to go for Rise of Iron.
Ok, so everyone is running around with the strange swirly-firefly buff on at the moment, right? For those of you that didn't know, there's a whole viral website dedicated to it: https://owlsector.bungie.net/#en
If you click the icon in the lower right of the screen, you can read some excerpts from transmissions made between various NPCs, many of which hint strongly at quarantining the tower.
Please note, everything below is SPECULATION on my part. You get all these wonderful boosts, buffs and benefits (massively increased XP for one) and they're given non-threatening names like Splendour and Magnificence. What if, however, this is how SIVA starts? It gives you enough buffs that you don't mind when there are eventually some minor drawbacks, the pros still outweigh the cons. What if the negative effect then gets stronger, demanding more from the player in exchange for the buff. Before long, it's got you dancing to its tune; the increase in XP comes at the cost of reduced shields, recovery, armour, maybe even damage output.
What if the Vanguard decide to quarantine the tower to try and prevent the spread of this new plague? That would have a couple of benefits as far as I see it; firstly, if you cannot gain access to the tower, then accessing Felwinter's Peak is going to be even more important. Yes, you can still go to the Reef, but you have no access to a lot of the Vanguard, Factions, Gunsmith or the Eververse Trading CO (big loss that one), nor the likes of the Shader / Emblem vendor, the Sparrow / Ship Vendor, or the Exotic Blueprint stations. Secondly, denying people access to the tower for a period of time would be one way of gating people from faction-edging. You've got a Vanguard / Crucible and Faction quest ready to turn it once RoI hits so you can claim your upgraded loot? Tough, Tower is closed, for a few days at least, or maybe until you complete the initial RoI quest chain.
Again, that's all speculation but I thought it might be a nice little twist and playing with our expectations is the kind of thing Bungie should do more often.
