I still haven't beaten Heroic Mode, and am more than happy to continue to run NM to hoover up siva key fragments. Suffice to say, I think the game will still have me for a little while longer yet!

Still to see much beyond Vosiks phase 2 and the jumping stuff after that, so happy to raid when on. Titanfall 2 is mighty tempting though ...

Hit 385 today, combination of public events, Shiro quest and 2 x faction packages saw to that. Even finally scored an exotic engram from a Taken champion whilst waiting for the event in The Divide. Saving that until 390+

Still gonna run the public events and Forge as I have a few things to infuse and the other characters of course

Did the Vosik challenge mode on HM with a bunch of randoms earlier. Got a perfected ornament which I've put on my gaunlets, looks kinda cheap but you can turn the effect on and off as you please.

More importantly I finally got the raid sniper.

Aksis dropped me two spliced cloaks and no helmet so I haven't completed the HM armour set yet... Hopefully next week then!

I've got a few things at 400 light and things are dropping at 400 from the forge and skeleton chests, so I'm nearly there.

I met some guys yesterday who play regularly and they invited me to their clan, so if numbers are light, I'll try and run it with them. might get a Trials run while I'm at it as well....

Ok, so now up to 379 on my hunter after some Forge action. Also been running a few Siva Heroic strikes which have helped too. Next question, how on earth are people getting skeleton keys to open the chests?

I have only had 2, both from the story mode as a reward but cant for the life of me seem to get any others. Is it just RNG through strikes?

RNG through the strike playlist, yes. They're relatively rare tbh which a number of people are complaining about, but the advantage is you can then effectively pick which strike loot you want which I think is a fair trade off.

Skeleton Key drop rates are a touch on the low side, yes, to put it mildly. I've seen two drop in maybe twenty strikes over the last couple of weeks.

Luckily, Iron Banner hits tomorrow so everyone should be at 400 Light by reset assuming it hands out gear the way it did the last two occasions.

Except it's still down to RNG as the loot isn't guaranteed. So it's RNG if you get a skeleton key in the first place and it's RNG again to see if the loot gets awarded - I prefer the old method frankly

Wouldn't be so bad if the key drop rate was better - I've only ever had one skeleton key and that was the one from the quest reward. Used it without thinking at the end of Sepiks Perfected and actually got the Devil's Dawn sniper, but I wasn't going for it (and can't see what all the fuss is about it anyhow, seems very average)

It's largely irrelevant but I have the Thorn quest at the moment and apparently you need a skeleton key for that, but as I don't run a lot of strikes, that'll just sit there ad infinitum

Anyhow, bring on Iron Banner - boots, chest and the pulse rifle are all up for grabs and as it is Control this time around, I'm more inclined to give it a go. Striker or Defender though, hmm

Iron Banner is giving some great drops, with me getting probably 15 high level purple items last night and 7 exotics from 3 of Coins. After a few hours on there I had completed the weekly Shaxx bounty and all IB bounties. Cashing them in netted me 5 level 400 items. I jumped from 395 to 399 in one night.

Only played 4 or 5 matches with Stimps & Co last night as I only popped on to check it was all live and to pick up the bounties and, well, got drawn in but in that time picked up a decent roll 388 machine gun, an artifact at 388, two exotics engrams from 3oC oh and some 365 boots, yay!

Sadly none of this affected my light level, but it would appear loot is plentiful again. Looking forward to getting back in there

Good fun playing Control when you can actually talk to others, makes it much easier especially in that last match against the (obviously a fireteam) French squad - most at 400 and had plenty of raid gear. That Chaos Dogma scout almost seemed to one shot me or at least that's what it felt like as I returned my mighty 0.75 k/d at the end of that one

Those Iron Banner bounties pay out big time. 2 x gear and 2 x weapons all at +4 over my current light at the time. Plus I've picked up some other 390+ gear as rewards and as a result I'm now sat at 390 whereas this morning, I could just about scrape 387

Seen loads of Clever Dragons being given out but sadly not my way yet

Had a good few days.

Got my first flawless Trials run over the weekend, smashed through WotM a couple of times, got Chaos Dogma, and got an absolute God roll Clever Dragon on my very first game of Iron Banner; Braced Frame/High Caliber Rounds/Counterbalance.

Fair to say, I was extremely happy to get that!

Have you been ghosting us Sims? Not seen you on since our chat Monday, correction, Tuesday lunch Oh and you lucky bugger on that Dragon except that CB isn't the best perk according to the Reddit folks but I'd be well happy with that roll

Got my first Dragon this evening but the roll is a bit crap (Send It, Hidden Hand, Snapshot) and doesn't hit as hard as my super stable Aegis. Rewards have been awful too this evening, strange coin and a bunch of blues, WTF?

Just picked up a second Dragon this time with braced frame, feather mag and glass half full. Will depend a bit on exactly how much those first 2 perks reduce the mag size, but that might work well with the third perk

And my first exotic from a blue engram. 393 Shinobu's Vow, the hunter will be happy!

Also, ignore Reddit. Counterbalance eliminates any horizontal recoil the weapon may have, which is not so important on a slower rate-of-fire weapon but the Dragon archetype can fire four bursts in less than a second so benefits hugely from having such easily manageable recoil.

Your mileage may vary slightly, but as far as I'm concerned the roll is got is pretty much the absolute best possible.

Fair enough, ships passing in the night in that case Was on late Tuesday almost by accident and again last night for an hour or so, throw in lunchtime and very early evening for a game or two and that's my Iron Banner to date. Rank 4 and a bit on the Titan, need another 8 wins to hit rank 5 for the first time ever and then grind it a bit for higher drops. Won't be on tonight though

My second Dragon works very well indeed, but it's Braced Frame that is the key perk rather than the others. Not sure Glass Half Full adds much damage and Feathered Mag takes another 6 out of the mag so not much use and I have pulse reload gloves in any case. Might switch to Life Support instead of GHF

I will pick up your roll, less HCR, from the vendor unless it drops before then

Today's my day for lucky drops. Another exotic, Truth, this time from a legendary engram ... 394 that'll be going into the Gjally unless I get higher in the meantime

The Dragon I got from the first Y3 IB has Braced Frame and Glass half full/Life Support. GHF adds so little damage it really isn't worth the perk slot in my opinion. Life Support - though it doesn't proc every time - is the better option.

I was a little gutted to see IB no longer gives out rewards for rank 3 and 5 packages; it makes grinding for those ranks seem a little pointless.

Increased drop rates in games and 4 bounties that drop items have replaced the rank packages. Idea is you play it more for the drops then at the end of the week you can buy the stuff if it hasn't dropped as you want them.
