I'd be very surprised if Emblems didn't carry forward considering that's basically all you earn from the new book. I'm glad they're ditching almost everything though, means they can start a fresh sandbox without having to think about anything they've already created.
Looking forward to playing the refreshed raids, especially CE which sounds like they've made some fairly big changes to.

Good fun running through Crota's End tonight gents, even if the end result wasn't quite the Flawless Raider trophy we were after.
Not really sure Age of Triumph will do much to tempt me back long term; knowing that nothing of any significance is going to carry over to Destiny 2 does somewhat temper any enthusiasm I may have had to complete another record book for inconsequential rewards.
Indeed it was, a fun and nostalgic trip down memory lane peppered with the requisite verbal abuse and name-calling....wouldn't have had it any other way Honestly, we should have absolutely pissed through flawless. It was only the bridge mechanics and a single wayward rocket that scuppered the plan. I can be around later if you fancy another crack at it.Not really sure Age of Triumph will do much to tempt me back long term; knowing that nothing of any significance is going to carry over to Destiny 2 does somewhat temper any enthusiasm I may have had to complete another record book for inconsequential rewards.
I'm still having way more fun than I should be running through the early missions at an appropriate level with my nephew. He is funny though, he'll constantly give me directions like I've never played before and tell me which of the enemies he intends to 'deal with' before promptly running into the fray and standing in the middle of a group of vandals, desperately trying to melee them to death....followed by 'Guardian Down', then "Uncle Speckle, come and revive me". He will then do exactly the same thing again...
Its a lot like playing with Lovechild actually
Age of Triumph does little for me - I've not completed either of the other two record books and I doubt it will change this time around. I've never been one for the collectibles / cosmetic crap, so there is no carrot there either. Personally, I'd like them to scrap everything for Destiny 2 and start again from scratch and stop trying to create some sort of halfway house that "The Community" seem so desperate for. I couldn't even tell you what my characters look like let alone be bothered if I can import them into D2 or not
Updated Raids ... group of 6 having a laugh whilst blowing stuff up, yep, that's the fun angle right there and last night's nostalgia laden run through CE reminded me of the best aspect of Destiny. If we get even a little more of that after this update, then it's all good - rewards / updated guns are irrelevant at this stage in the game's lifecycle though, to me at least as when will I actually use them?
However, this all drops after Mass Effect: Andromeda will have been out for a week already and as an avid fan of that series, I'm not sure this will pull me away from that. Plus I'm hopelessly addicted to Diablo 3 at the moment, firmly entrenched in that particular end game and the quest for loot
Ahem yes, Rocketgate. Down to a lemming-like Thrall decided it should go all secret service and dive between the rocket and the intended target, bugger

Second wipe was my fault. Kicked from party chat, I should have stayed out and just concentrated on the totem. Instead, I tried to rejoin chat, got the playstation rotating menu things while it tried to join, thought better of it, came back to the game screen to see the totem lit up like a Christmas tree The ironic thing was that we cleared the bridge without a death whilst we were just mucking around before starting
I agree with Moog. Drunken raid night/weekend sounds good. Chasing drops/year books? No. I completed year 1 book, but the grind/vault space/lack of need for max light has meant that I stopped striving to complete and collect soon into year 2.
Well I ventured into Iron Banner last week for the first time ever. Surprisingly I actually quite enjoyed it although having no real idea of the maps is clearly a bit of a disadvantage; but still fun.
Still playing weekly myself but I only play for fun so the whole "chase this latest thing" doesnt really bother me. I still think it is the best fps I have ever played and simple to dip in and out of. D2 has a lot to live up to.

I know a lot have now drifted away but I keep playing.
Got my first 400 item today and actually cheered out loud. For a solo player the grind is slow to 400 but I am now upto 397 and slowly heading to 400, without ever having done a raid.
Looking forward to the new drop at the end of the month, if anybody is about say hi if you see me online.

First of all, congratulations. I never made it before losing interest myself but, fully appreciate the grind that must have been necessary!Got my first 400 item today and actually cheered out loud. I'm not sure if things have changed or not and you probably know this already but, Archon's Forge used to be the most reliable place to level up outside of the raid since they expanded the loot table a while ago.
If more people were still playing, then I'd still be playing as the "social" side of the game is still top notch to this day irrespective of what you are actually doing in the game. I'd hope to see a little flurry of activity and interest when the not-actually-all-that new content drops next week although whether that will remain for any great length of time is yet to be seen, especially as there is no real reason to go chasing the rewards (emblems, guns, book completion, etc)
I need one primary gun at 400 to get the Titan to 400 - personally, that would be a nice conclusion to what has been a great 3 year Destiny ride for me. Bring on Destiny 2 - without the limitations of previous gen consoles and hopefully having learned a lot from Destiny, I really hope Bungie can deliver a cracking sequel

What was added, do you know? Only curious because it was only class items and ghosts that could drop up to 400 in the Forge previously, guns stopped at 385 IIRC Sorry Moog, I don't know the specifics. It was the most reliable place for me but, I wasn't a gnat's hair from 400 so, that may be bad advice on my part!
The repetition though, after so long, just became too much to bear! I've no doubt that we'll all be back for Destiny 2 and that, once again, we will spend far too many hours on our quest to become legend. Personally, I can't wait

I lambast destiny for its faults, but everything that has come since has just not come close for online multiplayer. Yes I spend more time on the PC now, but even a quick trials run was more entertaining that anything that has emerged on console recently.
Completely agree. The Division was fun for a while as a good many of the Destiny crowd were playing but, the endgame was just too broken and people drifted away after a couple of months (I still think I got my money's worth though). Destiny really was something else though, from the simple standpoint of simply dicking about with your mates. The repetition though, after so long, just became too much to bear! Hello all!
I know I am really late to this game, but does anybody want to help a noob (now level 40, but only 287 light) play through some of the strikes and raids? I have done a couple of strikes with randoms, but I think it would be better to play with like minded people. I'm a gamer at the more mature end of the spectrum if that makes any difference., If anybody would like to add me as a PS+ friend, my GT is Skoffmeister
I have seen a Pistonheads group / clan on the bungie site - do I have to do anything other than request to join?
Any tips for a player new to the game? It's pretty bewildering the amount of stuff going on with basically no instructions or guidance?
Thanks!

With faction packages rewarding up to 400 light now, the Vanguard graced me with a 400 Parthian Shot this afternoon meaning the Titan is now 400!
Can also confirm that the Forge is dropping everything up to 400 too. In 2 x 30 mins sessions, I grabbed 3 Saladin's Vigil, one ghost, 2 artifacts, chest and gloves so I don't know if I got lucky or whether drop rates have have also been increased
As an aside, managed to get step 3 of the Triumph quest done too whilst in the Forge, so pretty happy with that little lot
New Nechrochasm quest also underway, just need to do the 390 CE Raid now in order to move that one on

I'm happy the old raids are back and have been shaken up a little bit, and while I'm eager to get the crew back together and hit Scrota and VoG again, I just don't see myself bothering to do much more with the game at this stage. There's no light increase, and I've had all three characters at 400 for a while now, and whilst there's a nostalgic pang for the old raid gear, I'm also fully aware that nothing is going to carry into Destiny 2, so there's not much point in grinding for it all any more.
Well I did it - reached 400 this afternoon on my Hunter. Pretty much all solo and haven't done a raid as i don't have time.
I was expecting a fanfare as I equipped my final piece of 400 gear to recognise my achievement but nothing
But feeling pleased with myself and looking forward to D2.

What solo activities did you do to get increased light armour/weapons? As although I have done a lot of the quests/raids in the game I've always struggled to max my light level (highest is 393).
