Would quite like to try the Vault of Glass for the first time this weekend, if anyone else is planning it. Maybe we can come up with a time on here.

27 Hunter with a couple of decent void weapons.
Definitely up for that - got a decent void fusion and HMG (not legendary decent but, rare and upgraded decent) and a couple of legendary primary weapons. I work on Saturdays but, evening should be ok. Anytime Sunday after about 11am is good for me too.

Raid virgin btw so, will have no clue what to do!! smile
This is the LAST time I try and I regret this already, but here goes:-

Can we try to confirm a time to start this on Sunday?! Say, 5pm? Should give us enough time get through it.

What say you?!

Managed to complete the daily on level 28 solo last night pretty easily which I thought was pretty good but then jumped into a game with Youngsvr and Kryptonkid to have a crack at the Nightfall which was even better.

It was tough going and it took us a few tries (didn't realise you had to go right back to the beginning if you all died on that one) but we managed it in the end with some great team work.

To be fair Youngsvr was carrying us for most of the game. Not sure what gun you were using Youngsvr but it just seemed to rip through those Praetorians like butter. The best bit was I ended up with an exotic weapon drop which is my first exotic drop ever. A nice hand cannon called the Last Word. However having looked at the stats I am a bit disappointed in that the attack power is very similar to a legendary cannon I already have. I was hoping the exotic weapons would be a bit more..errr...exotic. Oh well can't complain and hopefully the upgrade perks will make it useful.
Was good fun doing that Nightfall and you guys got a couple of nice weapons out of it too. smile

Have you seen how your character fires that hand cannon - he palms the hammer like a proper cowboy six-shooter! shoot He also finger spins the gun when you switch weapons! cool

Don't worry about the power level of it - all of the exotics start at around 260 and then upgrade to a max of 300. Supposedly the idea is that they aren't more powerful than legendaries, just "different".

Re my guns - I was just using a max level (300) legendary void sniper (photo above in the thread) and a max level legenary void HMG. The nightfall always has a modifier that makes a certain element of weapon about twice as powerful as normal. This week it was void, which was why my void weapons tore through the enemies. smile

More than happy to go raiding with you guys and talk you through it, but I seem to be on at the exact opposite times to people on here - during the day and late at night. Early evenings are tricky for me.

If anyone is around from around 9pm tonight, I should be around with KryptonKid09 to have a crack at it. We'll need at least 5 of us though, any level from 25 upwards should work, void weapons preferably. That'll get us past the first stage, after that 6 players is pretty much a necessity.

LoveChild really sorted me out last night. Me and a friend are trying to level up new character's as we both have lv28 hunters so we are only on lv8 with these new ones. Lovechild jumped in at lv27 and smashed us through some missions which helped loads. Lad!

Is anyone up for helping me on a lv26 strike (summoning pits) to help me get Thorne? It's a special level with anew boss you have to kill before the huge guy at the end. I tried it with two people and we didn't get very far so we need a team of three. Anyone up for it? I'll be on after 7pm.

Not had a chance to use the new cannon yet, looking forward to it. smile

I think I picked up the void legendary sniper, I'd been using a nice solar sniper previously but looks like Praetorian's don't like the void so I'll need to level that up asap.

Looks like Flat-Out is trying to drum up players for a VoG run on Sunday. I should be around for this. We will definitely need 6 players though.

Count me in for this. I've not done a VoG yet and I'm curious.

Earlier or later may be better for me. Just sent the missus a speculative text to confirm I hadn't, when not really paying attention, agreed to do something on Sunday evening. I was NOT expecting her response:-

"Yep, we're going to yoga class from 5 to 6.30. You agreed and it has been paid for"

W.T.F. redcard

Early afternoon or from 7pm for me, otherwise, I'll have to duck out.

Definitely, possibly the best secondary weapon for the VOG though is a legendary void fusion rifle - as you tend to get up close and personal to a lot of Praetorians!

Fusion rifles are pretty much useless anywhere else, but in the Raid, they really work well.

Void HMGs are also very useful.

Shall we make it an afternoon session then - 1pm?

Genuine lol @ Yoga class hehe

Oh good, luckily I have a fully upgraded Legendary Void fusion rifle too but I prefer the sniper as you can shoot it across the map to help out your teammates in VoG and at a pinch I can use it no-scoped to get the close up Praetorians. I just find the Fusion rifle very limited in PvE as it's a bit of a one trick pony, it is positively evil when playing Crucible though. I will give it a go next time I am on VoG though.

I think I also have a Legendary Void HMG too, is it worth swapping this out in favour of my Void Rocket Launcher?

Yep 1pm is fine. Are people able to make this?!

As for the Thorn Bounty, I'm happy to help with this. I did this with Youngsyr to get ours. It is tough, but doable. We cheesed it and so I know what to do. smile Add me if you haven't already- Singh111s.

I haven't come across a situation yet where I'd take rocket launcher over a "Swarm" HMG.

Sure rocket launchers work reasonably well, it's just that "Swarm" HMGs work better in every situation I've come across as they're just more versatile.

The "Swarm" HMGs are the slow-firing legendary ones with around 35 bullets in the magazine as standard (can be increased using field scout perk). They're a bit like less accurate but faster firing scout rifles, just with a lot more punch!

They can deal with bosses (just pile all 35 rounds into them), crowds (spray 35 rounds across the screen) or those situations where you're out of ammo on your primary and still surrounded (fire single rounds at enemies). Plus they don't kill you if a teammate runs in front of you as you pull the trigger! laugh

If you have the right element to match the mini-boss' shield, you can take out even the toughest mini-boss with half a magazine.

Well im starting to lose a little love in this game now. The lack of matchmaking for the daily strikes and heroics is none existent so im fecked there as are many other players, i cant see me getting far beyond level 20!

The pvp is shocking too, getting one shoted before you can react is the norm or some untouchable class one shoting you with a melee! Im used to battlefield 4

Just started up my Boomerang rentals account and thrown a load of games on my list to rent.... interested to see what this call of duty will be like too
Make sure you send as many friend requests to the list as possible and then invite folk to your fire team when you want to have a go at the Daily and Weekly challenges (especially youngsyr because he's always online biggrin). And likewise, you're more than welcome to join my fire team if there is space available. I'd just recommend you have a mic as it makes coordinating actions much easier.

I'm more than happy to help carry lower level characters through the harder strikes to help level them up more quickly. If your character is a low level, don't be surprised if we just need you to hang back and stay alive in order for us to make use of some characters abilities to revive themselves indefinitely. I did this with youngsyr on one of the Nightfalls, I think my kill count was 2 or 3 and his was over 100, but I still got a ton of rewards for being there at the end.
That's the thing about the harder missions like the nightfall and weekly - no matter how strong your character/weapons or how good a player you are, they are almost impossible to do solo.

So even if you're just being team medic, taking cover for the majority of the mission and reviving teammates when necessary, your role is still vital and you still get the same rewards.

Not sure I agree with that, if you play them carefully they're more than doable solo. The fact that the enemies largely have half to a third less health than if you play with 2 or 3 players means that they're arguably as tricky with any number of players.

Case in point, this weeks strike, if you decide to snipe at the final boss and not jump down, it spawns a minotaur behind you every 15 seconds or so to try and force you off, with one person it takes a couple of void sniper shots to take this down, then you can get back to the boss, with two people you're looking at least 3 sniper shots and a few shots from a primary to take it down, meaning it can close in on you with that extra time and there's a greater risk of you getting wiped.

I will agree that having an extra person to help out with revives is good, but if they're dead, you've still got to do it solo, but also cope with enemies with much more health.

Thanks for joining us last night Guv, and for all the revives!
Was very frustrating from my side, literally not putting a dent in the enemy despite the constant volley. Was still a great few games though and the pay off was more than worth it. I'd been stuck at lvl 24 for at least a week and now around halfway through lvl 25.
To be fair, he carries me in every game, so glad I'm not the only one. smile

Ok so having used my shiny new gold hand cannon a bit today, I take everything back, it is bloody awesome. Lots of punch, can take out most high level normal enemies in 1-2 shots, has 8 shots in the chamber and the actions when you use it are brilliant. Fanning the hammer cowboy style, reloading the chamber and you even give it an occasional twirl now and then, just for added coolness factor. It's not even fully upgraded yet. Youngsvr you were right smilecool

As for the HMG, the one I have is Void damage but not a Swarm. I'm not that impressed with it tbh. It has 72 rounds but even unloading a full clip at a Praetorian doesn't take it down, I need to find something better.

On a positive note though my new level 20 void sniper with explosive bullets is working very well.
