Was guilty of sending an SOS message for a hand completing weekly heroic on lv 28 - just couldn't nail it with my brother & myself. Then joined your fire team for about 15 secs before you went to orbit then private. Hint taken! I really want to have a crack at The Raid but always struggle to get a fire team together from my friends list which are still rocking BF4 mostly, although a few have defected to the CoD AW recently....
Nothing personal - I was just being bombarded with messages!
It's a shame because I would have happily come to help you if I knew that was what you were after. I just assumed you were another one of the many wanting to do a hard Raid, but only with my Level 30 titan!
As I mentioned above, it didn't help that I'd been trying to get a fireteam together to do the hard raid with my level 29 Warlock for about an hour and no-one was interested!
Anyway, looks like my gaming days could be over - my PS4 has just bricked during the Destiny update. It turned itself off half-way through and now won't turn back on.
Just sits there, I've tried unplugging the power and plugging it back in, tapping and holding the power button, using the PS button on the controller both with it plugged in and wireless and absolutely nothing. Just sits there.
It's just over a year old too - so a few days out of warranty. Perfect.

Surely being a few days out of warranty shouldn't matter. I think it's reasonable to expect it to last 2/3 years without self destructing. Where did you get it?

This. When my ps2 died well over a year after purchase, Sony had it collected and a new one delivered in its place - one of the reasons I stuck with Sony for gaming over the years. They certainly won't want tales of 12-month old ps4's being bricked circulating, particularly in the run up to Christmas. It's a premium product with a price tag to match so expect a customer service to match.Hope you get sorted. The Vex et al will be breathing a sigh of relief if you're out of action for a bit

After checking my purchase date, it was 1 day within warranty with Shopto.net! Still not sure whether to send it back, but I guess they'll test it, find that it now works and then charge me for the postage both ways?
I guess at least I've logged that the fault started before the warranty ran out.
Anyway, now time for some serious crucible slogging to get my rank up to buy some boots for my hunter (last item needed for level 30)!
For some reason, you need rank 4 to buy the gloves, which is the last item my Warlock needs, so I guess he's just going to have to keep trying his luck in the Raid, as there's no way I can get my Hunter up to level 3 and my Warlock up to level 4 in a couple of weeks.
The weapons look a bit poor for the Iron Banner rewards.

Iron banner marathon sessions it is then.
On another note I picked up the Invectus (spelling?) shotgun from a completed exotic bounty. Now admittedly I haven't upgraded it at all yet but it seems a bit..eerrr...crap. Only 4 rounds in the pipe, takes AAAAGGES to reload and doesn't seem to do a significant amount of damage, in fact I think I prefer the Comedian Legendary to this. Am I doing t wrong or is this gun a bit rubbish?
Also I am struggling to complete the last bit for the Thorn bounty, kill Xyor the unwed. I know someone did this earlier on in the thread. Is it possible to solo this? I gave it a quick try and it seemed very difficult for a level 26 strike. Also I already have The Last Word hand cannon which is pretty awesome, is Thorn going to be a disappointment by comparison?

It's fully auto and one of the later perks is additional stability, so you can get two shots off almost instantly on a target up close, which is extremely useful on PvP. However, it's a shotgun, so not much use else where.
It's pretty much the same story with all the exotic bounties - the guns are crap unless upgraded and even then they're not amazing, Thorn included and I hear that they've unintentionally nerfed Thorn as well in the update, so it'll be even worse now.
Xylor is possible solo, but not easy. You know how to cheese the end part by staying out of the main hall, right?
You'll need solar snipers and HMGs for the witches beforehand.
The Last Word is better than Thorn, but Hawkmoon is arguably better than both!

However, with Destiny it hasn't really clicked, for three main reasons:
- the tactics and strategy are limited, it's just run and gun on small maps
- the rewards are limited, very little progression, just RNG drops and kit that isn't that great to buy from the vendor
- too few players, after Bf4 6v6 is pretty underwhelming
Still, I do enjoy the odd game and will obviously be hammering it now to get the gear.

I'd agree re PvP. It's a bit limited in scale compared to some other recent titles but it can still be pretty hectic and fun once you learn your way around\choke points etc and I always enjoy playing against real people. Looking forward to trying some iron banner and probably getting pwned by level 30's.
