Iron Banner is fking dreadful this time around. No point in playing unless you're a full team of 6, even then you stand to lose to experienced crucible sweaties. I think I'll be sitting this one out, hopefully plenty of other players will do the same and Bungle won't make such a fking stupid mistake again.

Cheers for the hard raid run last night guys. Was nice to feel that although I had the lowest light that I was't the one who caused the wipes every time

Tried a random LFG last night to do the raid on my hunter. Got stuck with three people who had never done the raid before, which was particularly irritating as they wanted to make sure I had the experience to run it

Did anyone do Iron Banner this week??

I had a go last night, managed to get 2 weekly bounties done and up to rank 3, so i bought the TITAN MARK, which now finishes off my complete IB armour set.

Also had a great run on Trials last night, even though it was a laggy mess, i managed to get carried (i did contribute though!!!!) we got to 8-0 losing our mercy bonus at 5-0, game 9 to go FLAWLESS we came up against a team of 2 titans and a self res warlock, the titans were both packing double lightning nades and shotguns, they murdered us!! so flawless will have to wait till next week... AM getting closer though!!

anyway i got a Trials Pulse rifle which looks pretty cool, and also got the trails titan Helm so that completed my trails armour set too.

Only thing i really want to get out of destiny now is a trip to the lighthouse, so i can say "been there done that", even if i did get carried...Then i think i'll put destiny back in its box and wait for Destiny 2 to suck me in again.

I collected all the bounties and did a few short sessions to complete some of them. Not turned any in, so if/when I do iron banner properly then I can rank up really fast.

Good effort on the trials runs! Getting to the lighthouse will just be crazy.

I have thought about trying to bag a raffle win from a streamer and see if I can get carried...

If you want to watch some sniping check out realkrafty. He's ranked number 2 in the world for Trials and he ALWAYS does double carries, I.e. has two random people in his team.

Message any of the guys from the Sherpa list, there will be someone available at somepoint during the weekend.. They are all more than willing to help.

Its also a good way of learning how to play trials better, you can see how the good players take each situation and use it to get the win (most of the time).

Also i have become a lot better at sniping and am now able to rez snipe, which i really didn't understand the timings of pulling that off before.

Thanks for running me through hard mode last night and apologies again for having to drop out.

Great night on the loot front, got:
- 302 shell (already have a 309 one)
- 320 sniper
- 309 shotgun
- 312 machine gun
- Exotic Engram
- 303 chest (infused up to 310 with a useless exotic)
- 320 boots
- 320 (and 310) artefact.

Would anyone be around tomorrow night (Thursday) to help me finish Oryx on hard mode?

What Glenn does with his whips is none of my business, he has been on Destiny tonight. We did Oryx hard with a few drunk Scottish lads and Scar, though I think he did the whole raid with them. Then we got Lew in, decided to "do the hard Warpriest challenge" and ended up doing the whole raid again with two American lads off the LFG, they were pretty good but one of them had some mic issues and could only communicate in odd squawks. Still, I reckon it took us probably little more than 90 minutes top to do the whole thing.

Gateway with no lost relics, Totems, Warpriest hard challenge and Golgoroth all done with no wipes, daughters on 3rd go, Oryx on third or fourth proper go. Very quick, very smooth for the most part. Wish we could have had you in instead of that squawking lad. Lew asked him if he was playing on the International Space Station, his comms were fking st. Still a top night of raiding though.

What a pain destiny is sometimes. Wanted to log on last night and get Oryx on hard mode sorted out and the servers were down for 'maintenance'.

Ended up doing a load of odd jobs in the end - shows how much time Destiny takes up!

Hi. New to the game and the thread! Didn't do the quick *cheat* to level 25 with the speakers light thing.
Currently level 32. Have noticed the single player get much better now on taken king though going to collect stuff is a bit of a drag.
Not too impressed with crucible. I get nailed by level 40's with just better gear.
Looking forward to all these high level strikes and things I'm told I can do at level 40.

In the crucible, gear, light level etc is all balanced out, so you don't get more armour or deal more damage than anyone else. Some types of weapon do more damage, the "impact" stat of two weapons of the same class is what differentiates the damage in crucible (and certain types of damage in players vs enemy gameplay). In general though, I think the player vs player game modes are naff.

Once you hit level 40, you should have plenty of strikes and the final story missions lined up, knock them out. Once you get to about 260 light you can start having a go at the Vanguard Heroic strike playlist, it might be quite tough at first but it's the quickest way to get your light level up. Once you get into the mid-high 290s you can have a crack at Kings Fall on normal mode, or even better, find a sympathetic team to help you through some of the challenge modes.

I did Kings Fall on hard tonight with my regular group, it was a very, very quick run. We dropped Warpriest on the second damage phase and I still had 3 full aura phases to go. Golgoroth was dropped on the first go on the third damage phase, daughters on second go and then Oryx on the third or fourth. One of our guys dropped out on Oryx and we brought another lad in who hadn't done Oryx and was only 305 light or so, he died right at the start of the run but the rest of us comfortably five-manned it and scooped the lad some top loot just for spectating the run. We've got Kings Fall well and truly cracked now, it's becoming trivial.

Anyone else having troubles with the latest update for Xbox One?

My son couldn't connect to a game for the last few days. Downloaded the 2.1.1 update earlier today and found the same problem? Have uninstalled, reinstalled, cleared cache etc.etc. but still can't get past the 'Connecting' screen? It appears to try for a couple of seconds then freezes (music still plays, but animated lines behind the 'Connecting' word freeze).

Have seen on Bungiue forums that I'm not alone, but wondered if anyone has managed to resolve?

Still can't connect to Destiny. Have uninstalled, cleared cache, port forwarded router, rebooted everything, reinstalled - still same issue.

Get to the 'Press A' Taken King screen, then it goes to 'Connecting' for about 2 secs and the line animation behind freezes. Music still plays.

Can't get to character selection screen
