Just had a random knight on the Cosmodrome drop husk of the pit. What's this all about then?

all legit take downs. But damn the amount of people on raid finder that want to cheese him is crazy.
the hardest part (a bit like the gatekeepers) is the deathsinger - those damn shreikers are lethal - also we found taking down the soul not worth the ammo.
looking forward to running through it again with our own clan! I can already see the souls gaze starting look upon us.

Its a common weapon that you have to level up to an exotic, a nice twist to the usual upgrade cycle.Beginning to get a little fed up with this game - simply because of the luck, the grind and half arsed match making.
In the last couple of weeks I've earned four legendary(I) pieces of armour, except NONE of them are for my current class. I havn't got the time to level up another class so they're worthless to me. Where's the logic in awarding me that? If I get a rare piece of armour, it's always for my class, but legendary never is!
So I could buy some instead, except I need a vanguard commendation. I was just into a new level when the DLC came out, so I then had to earn another 2500 points, which isn't something you can rack up in an evening. That's doing all the bounties every day for a week, or 250 patrol missions. I finally get around to earning that and then think, what's the point in buying new armour. I'll then have to earn a load of xp and gain a lot of ascendant materials to cast it all aside if I ever get a piece of raid armour. You need 18 materials to level up some of the pieces, which takes far too long to grind. I have a life.
So you could do the raid, hope for some luck and skip the grind. However, you need friends in order to do it, and I only have one who plays Destiny, which isn't enough. I've tried getting on with you lot but that's getting the timing right, everyone is a different level and sometimes it just doesn't work. Why can't I play with randoms off the net? We manage strikes doing it just fine (mostly). This game was billed as a social one, but there isn't even a chat function in the tower.
I heard you can solo the first chest on Crota and I've done that three times, earning 5 x material, and one exotic weapon, which is s
t and almost scrapped 5 minutes later. What's wrong with an old fashioned XP all the way method? Or a hybrid, beat this boss, earn some unobtanium which allows you to go up a few more levels instead of wasting hours doing the same thing over and over again?
Or is it just me?

strudel, I feel your frustration and I'm sure we all have times we want to raid but can't get 6 together. It's kind of enforced social gaming and it doesn't work well for everyone all the time. Which is why the raid websites have sprung up. I advocate getting on one of those and joining some people as well as adding as many people on here as you can.
You might get lucky like Innocent and land yourself in a party that know what they are doing but more than likely you might end up in a more challenging lobby. You'll still experience the raid though and you'll learn the basics quicker in poor lobbies.

Well after my semi-rant yesterday had a very good evening with you lot 
A lot of energy, some VoG raid gear, Icebreaker and Vision of Confluence, on my first ever raid. Now I need to get some xp in and join the rest of you at 30/31, because 28 was holding us back in places 
That and my jumping, which mainly involved bouncing off things to my doom...

Cool good to hear that your faith has been restored!! Both my hunter and titan now have full raid gear for level 32.
Just had a count, only need 91 radiant shards to level them...........
