Well my statement about crota not being glitched came back to fk me in the arse last night!

We managed to get through to Crota in around 35mins - then spent the next 2 hrs being shown his soul.

On the plus side I managed to get 18 strange coins from the nightfall & a one way ticket (sharded).

I feel that he wasn't a fan of the 80's - wooohhh I just died in your arms tonight!

Lets meet up tonight for a rousing war cry!

Well I had a hour or so on last night. I was unable to get on after 8 so while I was on tried to join Glen on a raid. but was told I had been removed from the fireteam so either it was to hard for me (i'm level 30) or not needed in the team frown

But still managed to get a Exotic Bounty. No idea what I will get. Toland's Legacy so need weekly Heroic or Nightfall Strike to obtain Toland's Journal. I tried one but must have put it on a harder level and kept getting killed so I gave up. hoping at some point to be able to do this with someone

That's the Bad JuJu bounty - Heroic, 25 strikes, 10000 points (not kills) in the crucible.

I had a good blast with Phil and Fatboy Jimmy, they carried me through the weekly nightfall, Phil with 227 kills, Jimmy with 147 and me with 5 paperbag

I got another Legendary sniper rifle, so that's 5 Legendary Special weapons, but no primary or heavy frown

Also managed to upgrade and max out some of my Legendary armour.

Happy to be carried through anything else tonight, or to help anyone who is below my level (is there anybody lower than a 28 on here??)

I've got that bounty and have just got to the crucible bit, is Bad Juju any good?

Disappointed we didn't beat Crota, it certainly went a lot smoother than last week. I'll pop on tonight for another go. His shield seems really random, if you chip away it seems to go down considerably and then spontaneously pop back up with no delay. I think this is why it messes up when we get the rocket timing wrong, he get hit by a few then his shield pops back up before being hit by any more. Not sure whether it might be worth using Thorn for the Mark of the Devourer perk but that'd mean no Icebreaker.

Also, does anyone have any tips on farming black wax idols? I need to convert some shard to energy and am running low.

If someone is getting booted from a fireteam its usually because the team is already full and they maybe waiting for the last couple of players to join them. Its nothing personal.

The best thing to do is join the party chat if there is one open to see what everyone is doing, or send a quick message first.

I had a couple of invites last night whilst I was half way through soloing the nightfall, so apologies for not joining.

Theres nearly always a live party chat every night. If you need a hand with something then jump in and there will usually be someone online who will help.

(this isnt directed at youself, but a general suggestion to everyone)

Coinslot; what vanguard rank are you? Can you buy the armour yet?

Doing the nightfall gets you a big chunk towards it if you haven't got the the right level (2 I think). Buying all the armour from the vanguard quartermaster will get you to 31 when upgraded.

Came on, did a run of CE on normal, end to end (proper play through with no glitches)with chests was just over 40 mins.

Amazing how much easier normal is to hard.

Ended up getting Boots, Arms and Chest all in one run, just need shards and xp to get to 32 on that character now smile

5 of us had a piss about on Crota last night and couldn't even get past the lamps ;-) funny as and a good laugh.

Coin, although you didn't kill much you played the medic role and revived us if needed :-) I now have 37 strange coins to spend on Friday.

Off work Friday so who is up for a raid from about 09:30?

It wasn't that bad considering most of the group hadn't done it before.. we got to the bridge twice but a couple of random decisions cost us..
I thought we eventually got a good rhythm going had we gone for another couple of goes i reckon we would have done it, but it was getting late.!

Unless bungie NERF fatebringer or bring out something totally insane i cant see me using any other gun for the lamp section, it rips through thrall, and explosive rounds means you can get a good amount of damage on a bunch of them without having to be too accurate so the rest of the gang can mop up.

I find icebreaker a good gun for the lamp section it gives you +2 agility and causes the thralls to explode

Remal - party chat is the easiest way to quickly see who's about and whats going on. Normally Tank and others are in it and you can just jump in. We did split into two sets of chat last night as one group were raiding so they needed to focus on that.

CoinSl0t - no one lower than 28 on their main character I think. See if you can get a hand with the weekly heroic (same mission but different rewards to nightfall), and make sure you are vanguard rank 2 or above to buy the latest armour.

5-manning the lamps - I think we had a really good go at this. We were routinely getting to the last lamp and only myself (and one other) getting stuck in a rock stopped us from getting to the bridge a second time and hopefully across!

Learning the holes and the pacing from lamp to lamp helps a lot, then refining tactics like lead runners turning and firing to help the people further back (who are inevitably targeted first by the thralls).

We also had one or two really good runs with orbs, where we were all generating them for each other. I have an exotic helmet called Obsidian Mind which refills my super every time I kill something with my super. If I could get a clear shot at the "thrall train" following us, I could refill my super instantly! The lasting effect of the nova bomb was handy as well as, I could use it to keep thralls away from anyone needing a revive.

I do think we needed to be slightly quicker and tighter from lamp to lamp, which would just make it easier to get further into the level, and carry some momentum through the last 2-3 lamps.
