Hey Guy's, thought i'd make the effort to pop in and show my appreciation for your recent support. Shado finally dragged me away from GTAV by force feeding my XBOX with Destiny, supervising and drinking my Rum until he new I was set up and hooked (Bastad). Had a couple of great evenings with a few of you now which has helped me kickstart the next level of my Destiny venture.

Done my first VOG run with you earlier in the week when I was lvl27 and lived to tell the tale, a lot learnt and a whole lot more to learn.

Last night was a prticular success for me as another bunch of you helped me achieve the Weekly Heroic and Nightfull to get my 9 coins and rep buff. But more importantly unlock the first part of my Bad Ju Ju bounty. I'm thinking Bad Ju Ju since patch and with its instant reload after a kill will be a god send in the first stage of CE.

Feels like im cracking on fairly quickly considering the time I can get on (married). I've also been lucky enough to get a coupe of Husk's so looking forward to upgrading one of those along with Murmer when I reach rnk 3 with Eris (imminent).

I'm enjoying the Warlock but my alts are Hunter & Titan (unleveled) so hopefully going forward I can enjoy the drops irrespective of class.

For now with time im pleased if I can get enough motes & coins for Xur each week. My first 2 exotics came from him last week. Had a couple of lucky early drops but so far I always seem to get Pulse, Fusion or HMG's. Not all bad as I like those but could really use a decent Scout. Badger seems to be the common choice or perhaps The calling? Otherwise my current default main is an almost leveled pulse "Time on Target". I grabbed the Starfire Protocol Chest because it gave an extra fusion grenade freeing up the perk otherwise used on Gift of the Sun (Sunsinger). It also gives me a significant boost in Fusion and Heavy ammo. I also have the Exotic "Light Beyond Nemesis" Helm which I enjoyed for is Looks, Speedy Revives and Orbs replenishing Health, but a legendary Crusader Helm drop "Symmetry Fang" meant I could go back to my starfire because the Fang also had the same infusion perk for Health from Orbs. Happy days.

Last nights first run for me at the first stage of CE was a laugh. It was me that got stuck behind the rock with you Irrotational frown I found I was unpowered compared to the rest of you bu tthen noticed it was slowly coming up. At first I blamed my gun but then realised it was more time panick running than shooting lol, Once i started to compose myself the kills were coming up. Kind of a lot going on the first time in VOG and CE for me, Listening, trying to get it right and not be a burden. Once I know the lay of the land I can concentrate less on staying alive and panick following and actualy kill something lol

So, thanks again for having me and thanks for the friend invites. I cant often commit to the long haul stuff but will when I can when your happy with a noob to make up numbers. As a previous WOW and Final Fantasy veteran im not adverse to doing homework for attending raids, As a Tank I had too else the whole party would wipe cos of me, Fortunatley I learn quick smile I like the flexibiliy of Destiny coming away form the Tank, Healer and DPS set up but just as much dependance on team work for success.

Question: Currently as Sunsinger im using "Fireborn" to revive myself when neccesary but feel like im wasting supers for the fear of dying. Would I be right in assuming you'd be happier for me to Spam Supers dropping Orbs and reducing cooldowns with "Song of Flame"?

Loads a fun biggrin

Cheers
Goat

Well I had a hour or so on last night. I was unable to get on after 8 so while I was on tried to join Glen on a raid. but was told I had been removed from the fireteam so either it was to hard for me (i'm level 30) or not needed in the team frown

But still managed to get a Exotic Bounty. No idea what I will get. Toland's Legacy so need weekly Heroic or Nightfall Strike to obtain Toland's Journal. I tried one but must have put it on a harder level and kept getting killed so I gave up. hoping at some point to be able to do this with someone

Looking at a few videos today I think we were doing everything right last night just his shields were all over the place, cant really see how we could have improved apart from getting a bit better with our rocket timing. Definitely think 2x2 rockets(HOC maxed seems to work well) and 2x pepperers? to constantly be on him during the rockets hitting him and during the sword hitting-Something like a Suros with a low ROF high impact seemed to work well. I am out tonight but back at 9.30pm if anyone needs a hand with anything.

We executed everything perfectly on many occasions last night, but there was some lag or something at play. Our second attempt, we had him enraged on the last sword, I blink struck to go invis as usual and he got up and still hit me.

That last attempt we had was a perfect example also. You must have hit him with 6 or 7 rockets and he didn't go down, then he killed me, then decided to drop to his knee when nobody was firing, then jumped immediately back up and run to the left!!!

Apparently it's better for the sword carrier to be host to limit these issues. We'll try it tonight.

Hey what's all this non-Destiny chat! Agree that the lego games are ace!

Goatface - I didn't name you deliberately to preserve your honour :-) It was good fun last night!

In terms of supers - whatever works for you - the fireborn revive can be a god-send on nightfalls and weeklies, plus sometimes used for cheese tactics in Raids. For the Lamps section of the raid I'd suggest anything that gives extra/quicker/more grenades. If you pick the solar ones that hang around they can create exclusion zones as thralls won't run into them...can provide cover whilst reviving someone or slow the thralls down as they have to run around the explosions (esp if you have 2/3 next to each other).

You can also throw those just ahead of you and then run into them, again slowing down the thrall train behind.

For pure clearance/killing purposes the void supers are better - if you can get a good group of thralls you can probably kill 10 in one go.

Saw a full raid going on last night - did you get through?

Attempted to solo the nightfall last night - problem is all of the burns work both ways...

Nope spent 2 hrs getting cheesed by Crota, gave up then sent a massive pile of stinking bishop back to him on 2 further runs. On a plus I learned the lamp solo run, which includes jumping from a rock next to the 2nd lamp.

What character were you using to do the jump? I was trying it with my hunter and it wouldn't work.

I read somewhere that a Hunter could do it, maybe that way was patched out

Its blade dancer with the first jump upgrade I think.

Again last night we had crota down on the last sword, everything is going to plan when he goes into auto enrage, then within what felt like two frames of animation he sprang straight up and killed me.

This encounter is becoming incredibly painful. There is such little dependence on player skill and seems to be mostly reliant on luck and impeccable network connections.

I'm convinced a lot of the issues are down to how they've coded out the kneeling/host disconnection glitch. Even the slightest of lag and the game becomes unpredictable.

easy enough for you to say, you've got practically all the drops!

I really want void primary for a second Thorn bounty.

I'm beginning to feel happy I haven't played hard mode much, I think I'd have gone through a TV or two. Still wish I had more raid weapons of course, and the crux
