Strikes, Crota and you will quickly get better guns and ammo. best done with mates as you found. I have a level 32 titan, 31 Warlock but my Hunter is only 13 so having mates help me through the basics to get to level 20 then I have lots of Legendary and Exotic armor to add to her simo1863 said:
sorry for being so hopeless, I thought I'd just bag a spot and try to get some raid armour for the new character but at 28/29 I wasn't doing any damage at all to anything except slightly denting Crotas shield..... I also didn't get any raid armour and the only drop was another Hunger. Not disappointed with that but just not what I wanted.

Crota wasn't being that bad we were just taking our time getting the swordbearer down and then getting to Crota which meant that by the time we were getting him down he was rotating (he follows a set timing)..... this may have been something to do with a certain 28 Hunter doing no damage to anything.... I should have really jumped out and grabbed a 32 but I wanted the armour that didn't drop!!

Simo - no bother at all about the Hunter - we're all in it together to try and get loot and get levelled up (to get even more loot!). It's a real shame that you got no armour at all, that must be pretty unusual!I'll go down the vanguard route to 31 and maybe try hard once I'm there.

I did wonder about the timings on Crota - but it didn't feel like we were taking *that* much longer than normal, I guess we must have been..
He definitely came out onto the "middle" platforms a lot more and was very close to wiping us out a couple of times.

What's your GT?Get your vanguard rep up to 2 (through bounties and patrolling) and then buy the vanguard armour. Gets you to 31 when levelled up.
The nightfall and weeklys help, you should just be about able to get into them. Add a few off of here and I'm sure someone will take you through. It's pretty easy this week.

You can download crota timers, yes he gets up and yes he sometimes teleports, chases you and his shield has a mind of it's own but he generally sticks to the pattern.I did wonder about the timings on Crota - but it didn't feel like we were taking *that* much longer than normal, I guess we must have been..
