nipped on to do the level 24 strike last night. Seemed to get a lot more blue engrams after the patch, after a few gifts from the cryptark I had about 7 to decrypt.... all were worse than what I already have. Even so, +25 Vanguard rep helps I suppose.... about a third of the way to Vanguard level 2.... painful

Connections were crap last night. We managed to open the door quickly but couldn't progress further because we couldn't keep 6 players together for longer than 30 seconds.

Hope they've sorted that by tonight.

We're not far off similar ranks. If I see you on I'll invite you to run through it with me.

Cheers fella.
I've been getting owned in the crucible too; although I did end a control game last night as top scorer, most zones captured and a greater than one kill/death ratio.

It was an anomaly.

Probably not on tonight I'm afraid.

Your assuming our elite team wasn't attempting the raid on hard!

They might have patched Atheon to make it more difficult, but that didn't stop us finishing him off on our first attempt last night smile

Excellent run through the VoG last night. Just over 2 hours and we had a good laugh too.

Even managed to solo the weekly on level 28 afterwards, which was made much easier than I though with Atheons Epilogue.

Anyone want another raid run tonight?

Got myself a Strange Suspect pulse rifle last night. First Legendary weapon. Opinions online seem mixed but if it's my only legendary then I'm using it. At least until the latter upgrades that require rare items.

I should be on tonight from 8ish.

Did the Cerberus Vae strike last night, and rather than being paired with randoms who were level 29 and do all the killing, got paired with a pair of randoms at level 21. So we were approximately equal and I didn't feel like I was being carried.

Made it harder. Made it more satisfying.

I could do with a partner for the daily/weekly stuff. Think the wife's at netball so will be able to get on.

I nearly asked tankslappa last night but saw you were on VoG.

It's typical, most nights we can't get a team together, last night we had a queue.

Give us a shout later, there will be someone to partner up with.

I also need a vex gate lord on heroic to help towards an exotic fusion rifle.

Altheons Epilogue is awesome, I just solo'd the weekly Nexus strike faster than I've ever done it with 3 people on easymode.
Void Burn is now my best friend.
Don't think I could do nightfall, there were a couple of close moments when the mobs spawned in at the end and my armour isn't in tip top condition because I'm waiting on shards

Atheon must have been a fluke on Tuesday as we struggled last night.

We still need practice for this part.

I can see why some of us are finding the raid loot drops frustrating. I used my second character last night and got nothing but shards and energy from the checkpoints and chests. Feels like a kick in the balls when some others are getting weapons and armour.

Good guide I've read about 50 times!

Now for the Relic team. If this is your first time being teleported one key tip is don't automatically hold the interact button down when prompted; you will grab the Relic and be stuck with it, which may not suit you.

Ideally, everyone will be able to pick up the Relic and use it well, but in most teams you will have some players who are better at it than others. In a team of six, you should aim to have four players absolutely prepared to use the Relic, so that one is always in the Relic team. These players should pick up the Relic immediately; it does not matter who gets it.

Once you have the Relic, things move fast. Call out to the home team and let them know if you are on Mars (dust, red) or Venus (green, leafy) so they know which gate to guard.

There are several enemies in the arena who need to go down fast. The Relic holder makes the call here: they may want help, or they may prefer for the other two Guardians (the Oracle team) not to mess with their aggro.

Heres how my clan does it: the Oracle team rush forward and get into cover behind a pillar on the left hand side of the arena, just before the steps down. The Relic holder runs forward and makes a jumping right trigger attack on the mobs. Then one of the Oracle team members starts helping with the mobs. This ensures the Hobgoblins are not shielded when the Relic holder strikes, and that the Minotaur has not been aggrod out of the area of effect.

Once the enemies are dead or when there is only one left, if its taken too long the Relic holder rushes back and cleanses the Oracle team, who will be going blind (remember, you only need to tap cleanse). You cant do this immediately because the cooldown will still be in effect; thats why the Relic holder has to grab the Relic ASAP. The blindness will continue to build at all times while inside the timegate and also hit once more on the other side, so the Relic holder should cleanse on the regular, ensuring the Oracle team is cleansed once they pass out of the gate.

The Oracle team need to stand close together so that they can be cleansed. Luckily, the Oracles appear in the same places each time in a linear sequence trailing across the arena to the timegate. Walk forward steadily shooting them down as there should be no mobs to trouble you and climb onto the timegate platform before you shoot the final one (or even two, if you are efficient) so you can get through the gate as soon as you all make your own fate.

Taking down the Oracles is easy if you have hunters; have them use Gunslinger class and Golden Gun. Thanks to Timeâ??s Vengeance, everyone should have their super up when they get teleported. When you've used up Golden Gun (make sure your Oracle team partner knows you're using it so they don't waste ammo!) on the first three or four Oracles, or if you don't have a Hunter, switch to your best weapons. You can either take turns taking down Oracles (Guardian A does one, Guardian B does the next) or work together, but make sure you're not both pumping bullets into Oracles that are already dead.

One good tip here is that Oracles will go down to two shots from reasonably good fusion rifles, so if both Oracle team members take one shot each you'll wipe them out in no time.

When all the Oracles are dead, let the home team know you're coming so they can capitalise on Times Vengeance. Pass through the gate and walk, don't sprint, as you could otherwise be trapped. Make sure the Relic holder goes last and quickly cleanses the Oracle team on the other side.

You only have 20 seconds of Times Vengeance from the moment the last Oracle dies, so don't hang about. Its easy to be disoriented, but from Mars, turn left, and from venus, take a sharp right, and you will be facing the centre of the room.

Times Vengeance provides a huge boost to weapon damage, so if you are in a position to put bullets in Atheons weak spot is a the glowing gem at his waist and you'll usually do much more damage that way than by using supers or grenades.

There are better guides out there, but that's the general gist and once you've done it a few times you'll work out a system for your team. The buff lasts for 30 seconds too, not 20.

I've lost interest, doing the patrols to get more spinmetal and relic iron, Etc to upgrade is so monotonous it's not worth the reward. Back to waiting for another decent online game to come out.
