Very happy with how we did golgoroth last night. Glad we went back to our strategy for gaze running along with tweaking our strategy to improve the initial start.
All I got for my awesomeness was 2 moldy shards!
The last part of jumping felt impossible with my dodgy controller. Read up on tactics for sisters and just about got my head round it.

There is no way to buy them - you can convert strange coins into motes, but not the other way around.
EDIT - while we're talking Xur economy it's probably worth mentioning that you can't directly buy shards any more. If you want some you have to buy exotics and then shard them...so they have essentially got more expensive. It sort of makes sense because the collection machines essentially make a shard equal in value to an exotic...so they have to cost the same amount of coins.
Double Edit - if you want the celestial nighthawk, buy it, check it's unlocked in the collection machine and then shard it and buy a collection one. According to Reddit the collection one has a pure Int roll and better perks...

I'm still sharding Y1 duplicates so am rolling in them for now.Gav, the deathsingers follow on from a lot of the raid in that they are about stepping on and off stuff in different orders whilst the ghost guy does a mini jumping puzzle/rift game with the sisters. The main problem with it is that the ghost person is randomly selected. Last week I was with a team who would just wipe if a certain person was selected! Controlling the snipers is pretty key too.

Hmm looks like I stumbled upon some kind of cheese last night when I was on patrol in the Dreadnaught.
There's a section where the floor is filled with green energy and somehow they were making the public event happen in this area.
They do the event, a chest appears and they run over to it and grab whatever's in it and then they run off and do something else and the event happens again, rinse and repeat numerous times until I got fed up watching and wandered off again.

It's OK you'll get the chance again. There are three difficulty levels of rune. If you stand near the totems outside and have one you'll see a "hold x" promptprompt.
The easy ones (white) you can probably solosolo. The medium blue ones have to be charged by completing 3 easy ones. You might need 2 or 3 people to do those.
The hard one is light 290 or 300 and you need a team of 3 people so you can communicate and hope there is one or two other people to help make it a bit easier.
You can get quite high light artifacts from it plus quite a lot of blue and legendary engrams.
