Has the 2.4gb patch been released yet!!?? that could play havoc with the raid tonight if we don't all update ASAP!
I updated my xbox360 copy of destiny to bring up to my digs when I'm working, 1.07 GB update on the Saturday, another 1+GB update last night, my digs has a 3MB connection at the most. It was most of the night and I didn't get to play it, don't tell me there's another huge update.wuddie said:

Mine updated last night around 00:45, right in the middle of a crucible match, really pissed as it lost my last set of points too, rage was spawned quickly after proving disastrous to my thorn bounty and Tank & Tom's ears!fk fking fk! - sorry mum if your still watching 😉
I spent all weekend chasing an epic bounty that led me to the Invective shotgun. I also have the Crash shotgun as well as the Final Boss sniper and the void one. It seems my special weapons is overloaded with choice. Tempted to dismantle some of them for shards(I just never use shotguns and Praedyth's Revenge is so good that I'd never really equip anything else, save Icebreaker if I had it).
Still using Hard Light as a primary and it's great.

Yes it's for owning the DLC - arrives at the postmaster.
I've been using this post:-

To work out if I should even consider *trying* to level up to get the 30 light boots and gloves...
It says 104 wins needed which I reckon at 10 minutes per match is 17 hours! BUT you can get bounties and also the tempered buff....I reckon that *might* make it possible in 12 hours or so of play....but that's still a lot of time (for me).
I would rather try and do the hard raid later in the week...assuming I can get time off on the weekend.
Wuddie - can you do Friday or Saturday or Sunday night? I'll check with the boss.

I'm pretty bad at it...but I get excited if I manage to kill anyone AT ALL so my expectations are pretty easy to meet :-)
I'm not going to bother I think...will do normal crucible at some point to get my Thorn bounty done....doubt I will ever use the gun though.
Changing subject slightly has anyone else looked at the new RAID stuff in the DLC (the armour, weapons etc) all looks pretty cool but I may have spoilered myself a bit!
Probably worth using spoiler tags if we're going to discuss it on here.

Funnily enough we discussed this last night.
As soon as the next raid drops we are going in head first. No waiting for guides or YouTube vids. No spoilers, work it all out for ourselves.
We have enough for two teams now.

I'd love to do that - just looked at dates and I am going to be away for most of that week :-(
...suspect when I manage to get on everyone will have learnt the mechanics and I'll just need to watch vids to catch up :-(
Anyone that's at a high enough level to do hard raids should take note of this

The sense of 'bloody hell, just look at it' would be great I think. I just worry that I don't have anything like the time. As soon as the next raid drops we are going in head first. No waiting for guides or YouTube vids. No spoilers, work it all out for ourselves.
Even one phase blind would be an achievement.

Yeah I agree, feels like we rush through the current raid because that's the worked out plan, we don't spend any time in each location just looking around, I've been through the atheon portals a bunch of times but could not describe the layout of the level past the narrow path down the stairs and to the portalsEven one phase blind would be an achievement.

IMHO it's impossible to tell either way for the following reasons:-http://www.bungie.net/en-GB/Forum/Post/79323490/0/...
1. We don't know what the probabilities of each item are on normal
2. We don't know what the probabilities of each item are on hard
There are more non-armour items on hard (extra weapons and maybe a sparrow?) which will tend to dilute the chance of getting armour BUT we have no idea if the probabilities of "good stuff" (weapons and armour) are generally higher in the hard table. This could completely offset any dilution effect.
Two quick examples:-
Example 1 - adding the vex halves the chance of getting armour - you should do one normal and then one hard
Normal
Ass mats 95% chance
Gloves 5% chance
Hard
Ass mats 95% chance
Gloves 2.5% chance
Vex mythoclast 2.5% chance
Example 2 - adding the vex and adjusting the values triples the chance of getting raid armour - you should do hard straight away and get two rolls on the hard table
Normal
Ass mats 95%
Gloves 5%
Hard
Ass mats 80%
Gloves 15%
Vex 5%
Without hundreds of people collating their raids and drops it's impossible to get enough data to verify either way.
