I've been playing the 360 version of destiny through the week due to work commitments, and I have to say I'm really impressed. There's not THAT much difference between the two versions on the one and the 360. The gameplay is identical, the only differences are the graphics, which aren't that bad TBH. I was expecting it to be much much worse. Moving character from 360 to one is brilliant. I think we've still to see much improvement in the Xbox one. If you're reading this thread and you don't have an xbox one yet, I wouldn't buy one for destiny, as it's near enough for me on the 360. If only they allowed cross-platform gaming/chat.

Still looking forward to getting the 'full fat' version at the weekend on my massive telly at home though. hehe

When I logged in last night I got the Bad Seed Down pulse rifle (doesn't seem as good as the Strange Suspect) and The Devil You Know (don't really use hand cannons so don't really have anything to compare it with) from the postmaster.

I want to have a crack at the normal raid at some point this week too. Had a good hour or so last night doing the nightfall, daily and weekly with Tom.

I really need Shards

TDKY seems to be regarded as one of the best PvE handcannons in the game - certainly the one you buy. A lot depends on what perks get attached to the weapon if you get it as a random drop.

I got two ammo perks, so kills grant bonus ammo straight into the gun and also missed shots have a chance to return ammo to the magazine...so it's hard for me to run out!

Damage and impact is pretty high and you get 12 shots in the magazine...handcannons seem to get quite high critical hit bonuses as well, so you can one shot pretty much any normal enemy (harpies, dregs vandals etc) and 2-3 shots for yellow bars.

Using it mainly depends on whether you prefer handcannon versus AR versus Scout. I like the impact and staggering enemies, which gives more time to line up a critical hit and take them down.

The HARD RAID attempt was Interesting, Front door was done in around the same time it took to do it on normal.. Then things got a lot more difficult..!!

I found that using my Fully maxed! VOC in normal i was getting 860 criticals on the goblins and hobgoblins at the confluxes and taking them down in one shot!, In Hard i was getting 605 criticals!!! and was needing 1 critical and a body to take them down.!

As a level 29 titan with 1408 defense i found that i could take a good few hits from the goblins and survive, the hobgoblins needed 2 shots to take me down, and avoiding the Templar was ok if you hide after the first 2 blasts hit.

Things to take with us for Next attempt...

1.Make sure we have a fully maxed weapon for each Burn type.
2. Grenades!!! i found my grenades could either take out 2-3 enemies or at least do enough damage that one shot was enough to finish them off.
3.take a lot more ammo packs, think i burnt through 5 or 6.
4.More communication between the groups of 2's, and stick to your roles.. the 1st wave (center conflux) is pretty easy as we all know that the enemy are coming from the Front, When it gets to 2nd wave ( the left and right guys need to be communicating more to each other and to their Center side Backup (the 2 center guys for round 2 patrol the lower stairs, and also try to mop up any enemies on their designated side) When things start to get even the slight bit overwhelming a shout from the Left or Right guys needs to go out so backup can arrive BEFORE you are over run.
Round 3 is more of the same i guess, don't panic, good communication and teamwork to take out the enemies, focus Fire on Big enemies like minotaurs etc.

I think with a little patience and more talking, calling out where enemies are coming from and calling for backup Before getting in to trouble we can get the confluxes done.

The normal Raid attempt was pretty slick i thought, couple of random deaths (mine was 1!! smile ) but overall didn't take long.

My Overall haul was 5 ish energies, 5 ish shards, chatterwhite, some legendary ARC shotgun (sharded immediately) ,Patience and Time and another VOC smile Still waiting for the RAID chest piece and need to have a good run on HARD to try and get the RAID helm

I've got 3 TDYK hand cannons including the one from the Vanguard armoury. All three are better than The Last Word IMO. They have far better range for one, and 12 rounds (got my second TLW from the nightfall last night shoot). If you are accurate with your shots then the full auto of TLW is not needed.

The other two TDYK I've got both have reload perks. One is for drastically increased reload speed with an empty magazine, the other is increased reload speed following precision damage. Either one combined with the hunters 'chain of woe' perk gives you ridiculously quick reload times (which is where most players struggle with hand cannons IMO).

The only weapon in the game I now want that alludes me is Fatebringer from the raid. Tom was rampaging through the nightfall with his last night.

There also seems to be confusion as to which difficulty this weapon drops on. Tom got his from the hard raid last week which seems to be the general consensus, but Innocent got one from the very first time we did the raid on normal (which he subsequently dismantled biggrin)

And not as hard as I was expecting. Lots more enemies though. I only died once when I got sniped by two hobgoblins at the exactly the same time.

It was good to see nobody conserving their heavy ammo and supers too.

Bearing in mind we only spent 20 minutes on this, we got to the third wave. Another few attempts and we would have had it cracked.

The Benson & Hedges sketch requested by Innocent smile

Our positioning on the left is pretty much as this. One thing I think we've underestimated though is the importance of the central corridor. On normal we've never really had a strategy for it, it's just 'happened'. On hard it's a critical job IMO.

The team on the left and right have enough on their plate without having to worry about enemies slipping through from the middle to attack them from behind. Ironically I think we did this better on hard than normal last night.

Oh, and top sniping again wuddie wink

Mid-left looks like they have a lot to cover!

I've only done one raid, but what would be useful is a clear call out of when enemies are spawning left and right and when there is the big central rush. That gives a clear signal for Left and Right to fall back in and grenade/rocket the middle.

Occasional reminders about hobgoblins also helps remind everyone to sweep/check the platforms between left/right/central spawns.

I was also guilty of not giving my position when giving updates...e.g. just shouting "minotaur" or "I'm dead" which probably isn't that useful for anyone else! :-)

It's not that bad really - you "just" need one exotic armour, which is pretty easy to get from Xur and then do lots of bounties to get the XP up and get it levelled. Will be easier now with 10 bounty slots.

I have the Fatebringer Hand Cannon, TDYK and The last word. I haven't been a massive fan of hand cannons but since picking up Fatebringer it is now easily one of my favorite guns. It has arc damage and with a head shot enemies explode and in doing so kill anything around them.

As for the Hard raid last night i think if we had stuck to it for a few more tries we would of got through it. Considering it only took about 3-4 tries to get us to the point where we cleared the second conflux part which is the longest one, the third wave would of been quicker. The main thing i found was remembering not to panic and rush in when you see 3 or 4 enemies warp onto the conflux and don't hold back on your supers and rocket launchers.

As you say, need a bit of exotic armour - I think I have 11 strange coins and probably need 21 to buy from Xur.
Currently have 2 bits of legendary that I'm levelling (should be level 26 soon), need to farm some materials.

Good night for weapons last night, I managed to get cryptic dragon legendary scout, which has bonus final round damage, explosive rounds, and enemies explode when killed. Also got an exotic bounty for pocket infinity. Looking forward to getting those fully upgraded. smile

Shards are important once you get there too. Do the daily heroic and at least one public event as regularly as possible. That should net you 3-4 a day as a basic amount. Then the odd nightfall or raid can give you a lot too.

I'm 28 going on 29 and seriously regret not stockpiling shards sooner.

Armour is only 13 coins, so you're not far off. If you do some strikes you might pop a couple from engrams.

I'm not sure if you can get them from daily events as well (as a random drop). Also the 4th or 5th golden chest on Mars will give you one automatically.

The hardest bit is getting the XP and the shards you need to upgrade it.

Exotic armour is quick and easy to level up. Much quicker than exotic weapons in any case.

Just watched this speed run of the hard raid: -

Very, very impressive and worth watching. Not a single bit of cheese in sight either.

I can (and have been) sit on Lvl 24 strikes with randoms and get them done.
The Nightfall/Heroic strike I'm going to need some assistance from you guys.
