The "More Beautiful to Know" fragment is a right fking tt to get - it's the one that needs the "Scent of the worm" buff and requires the speed run over the invisible platforms. I kept getting to the chest and not having enough time to open it before the buff wore off. In the end I managed it as I'd run it so many fking times I'd memorised the platform locations I could jump to them, ghost out in mid-air and guide myself onto the platform as it appeared in view. If I'd had a friend standing on the first platform I reckon I could have collected it within 20 minutes, instead of taking an hour and a half.

I very much enjoying this, despite not really understanding what's going on!
Discovered in my upgrades something to level me up, so i went from level 4 to 25 straight away and it made the game much more approachable, giving me wepaons which actually take down enemies.
Any tips?
You used the spark of light - it's handy as it makes a lot of the story content easier for a while, on the downside it takes you straight to level 25 without any of your class abilities being leveled up. My gamertag is Mastodon2, same as my username on here, add me and I'll be happy to join you in the game with my alternate character and show you the ropes some time. It's good to have a few mates as some things in the game really need a friend to do them, it's easier than working with the randoms the game puts you with.Discovered in my upgrades something to level me up, so i went from level 4 to 25 straight away and it made the game much more approachable, giving me wepaons which actually take down enemies.

Yes, I created a hunter character on getting the Taken King and used the spark of light there, as I already had a Warlock main character and a level 18 Titan on the go. Funny that it doesn't give you any XP in the actual class stats and abilities, so you get the scaling benefit against enemies but still have crap stats overall. Despite being there for use, the class structure (rightfully) accounts for players having played the basic content and year one additions first of all, so you might as well start at the bottom and follow the original story arc through to the Black Garden as a grounding in the game, and a means of getting some better stats and equipment for tackling the tougher, later content.
Check out a quest list for the original game content so you move through the proper storyline first, before getting involved in the Dark Below/House of Wolves stuff. Coming to the game late, you can access all of that content from the off, I think, although there is a barrier to entry on the Taken King quest line. So you could easily end up confused.
Mainly though, just get stuck in and try some content that is level appropriate as it's all good fun. Just remember to check on your light level, and make sure you have the highest possible light level when you decrypt engrams at the Tower or the Reef, because your light level is a modifier to the probability you'll get higher level kit, which means more damage and armour. I found out one of my mates had been doing this the other day, stacking up a load of engrams and decrypting them all at once without putting on higher level gear, so he was seriously slowing his rate of good drops.

I had a good old burn on Destiny tonight, Kings Fall with some randoms but I managed to pick up the two calcified fragments I was missing, we got stuck at Golgoroth again and I eventually dropped out. It took hours of rotating teams, trying to teach new players the mechanics etc, but we had a few lower light players in the pit with Golgoroth and we just couldn't DPS him down. I was only really playing for practice as I'd already done the raid up to the sisters this week, but it was a kick in the nuts that all my collected engrams decrypted to 260s.
Things picked up when I teamed up with Baryonyx and Irrotational, we smashed through the level 35 Prison of Elders without much difficulty. I suppose it was worth it to get the Fallen ship, the loot was a bust. I'd hoped I could have picked up the quest to get the Queenbreakers Bow, but they removed the Fallen exotics quest with the 2.0 update. Mint.

I just have the Titan
I don't think any one class really gets ahead of the others now. Back when the game came out and I was grinding a lot of Crucible play, Hunters using the flaming hand cannon class seemed to be everywhere, creating a great nuisance. Warlock's using the Nova Bomb attack in Void class were a worry, especially if they have the upgrade that presents a cone of damage in front of them, as it was a one-hit kill but they only got one shot, whereas the hunters got three one hit kills! In PVE (my preference) the Warlock class garnered a lot of praise, and I can see why. The void class is very strong offensively, and the Sol class with it's self resurrecting ability is pretty immense. I'm not sure what the other classes look like now in TTK, but I'm going to max out the arc class in my Titan and then start a Hunter off properly to run alongside my favoured Warlock. However, this afternoon I may go chasing the Boolean Gemini. The Skolas fight with Irrotational and Mastodon last night was good. We were lucky that Irrotational was familiar with the mechanics of the fight, that secured us the win. Mastodon and I had a crack at it a week ago or so, and despite figuring out the mechanics of the fight (kill the servitors, debuff Skolas, pass on the killer debuff he gives you, destroy the mines and shoot him out), we couldn't manage it. I'm not sure if it could be done by two people because of the immunity you receive after passing the debuff, and the fact that the mine spawns are so far apart. Irrotational was able to add a detailed knowledge of what to do, and when, like not spamming ammo into Skolas because he's right in front of you, rather killing off the adds and before crossing a DMG threshold that'll spawn another round of mines. After one wipe in the mine stage, we were able to go back and beat him.
I had a bit of a play around with my Suros Regime rifle last night as Mastodon and I finished up by using our charged Agonarch Runes on the Dreadnaught for a fun little fight. It's a nice gun and has a real thump to it, but it doesn't seem quite as good as my Zhalo. The Zhalo is at 292 and the Suros is at 290, but it's not fully upgraded. Perhaps it's unfair of me to compare the two when the Suros isn't fully upgraded, but the Zhalo is just an absolute monster at crowd control. Over mid to close range it excels, and with it's ability to chain arc damage and return rounds to the magazine, I feel that my best option would be to break the Suros for a shard (I got it from coins grinding, after all). We shall see. I now see why Mastodon is so desperate to get a 'No Land Beyond', I thought it was an exotic LMG, but I see now it's a really cool sniper rifle. Good luck with that.

It was a good fight - you guys were clearing the adds really quickly! As you have said - the skolas fight is a bit "weird" in that it's not really about fighting the boss, it's about managing the adds and then being ready for the mines as they spawn so far apart.
In terms of people - it is much easier with three. I forgot last night, and you guys may not have seen it but weirdly the swords do enough blocking damage to stop the poison debuff actually killing you! There is a video of a guy solo-ing Skolas using the sword block method!
It doesn't look too hard when he does it...then you see the end game screen and that he had been at it for 6 hours!! You have to be lucky and get the mines to spawn in order i.e. left-mid-right or right-mid-left. If middle is first (or third) its impossible for one person to get across the whole map with enough time left to defuse the mine.
It's now quite a fun fight - at the time - when everyone was underlevelled - it was pretty brutal. A successful run would have involved twice as many laps, and taken about twice as long, as our run last night. Every wire rifle shot was almost a OHK as were captain melees. I think I only completed it twice at the time, as it was so stressful, once being carried by Tank and Glenda and once by Phil-sti and Evosean :-)

Had an hour last night, and realised the purple highlighted section was the next story mission/ quest! I'm not the brightest!
Aye, I had a 'thick as fk' moment earlier on too. Decided I'd go after the Boolean Gemini exotic quest, and it starts off with the 'Petra: Taken War' quest at the Reef. I'd had that in my quest list for weeks, having forgotten about it. I remember getting it, confusing the Taken for the Fallen, being frustrated that there were no named Fallen appearing when really, I was supposed to be hunting named Taken. I read up about the old roving Fallen packs that seem to have been written out of the game (save for the Pike patrol) and gave up on it. As soon as it clicked that I was supposed to be hunting named Fallen, I got right on it but it still took me a whole afternoon to go through all the quest steps. The new missions that come in the storyline are good too, but I've seen them before as daily heroics, so they did feel familiar. When I log in tomorrow, the 'Lost and Found' quest should be available. I'll blitz that and get my rifle picked up. In other words, no Fallout 4 whatsoever got played this afternoon.
