Ok that was a total piece of piss, got to the Warpriest without a single wipe or even a single down (apart from the jump puzzle, natch), blew through the Warpriest on our third try. We had him down in 2 but I fumbled a shot with the Spoondle and my DPS dropped off and the occulus took of a few of us down. His health bar was so low you couldn't even see a yellow sliver in the black bar, but the team held it with 4 men against the taken enemies, grabbed the aura again and as the first guy in the middle fired 2 shots from his 1000 Yard Stare the priest went down - talk about clutch, he must have been on about 0.5% health, we were so close to wiping but the team carried it off really well.

I already got a 304 Kingslayer shell from the totem chest, but this is where the drops get ridiculous:

310 Defiance of Yasmin (to complement the 306 Defiance I got last night)
320 Harrowed Defiance of Yasmin
316 Harrowed Qullim's Terminus (YES!)
310 Numinous Web
320 Broken Crown
Worm God's Servant legendary emblem

My light just jumped from 303 to 309 - this is straight up ridiculous. I cannot possibly believe the following challenges will be so easy. Get it while it's hot - or before a hotfix!

I got some good drops last night also.

I Jumped in with LFG randoms at Warpriest, after a couple of getting to know how the team worked together sessions, we finished him..

I got

Exotic helm engram
320 artifact
310 machine gun
320 Rocket Launcher

I decoded the engram to a 310 insurmountable skullfort. So that got infused in to my Taikonaut!! smile

I went from 312 to 315.. Had about a million attempts at Oryx but got cheesed by the big man... one attempt we were in the last Shadow Bubble, i get teleported in 3rd just as hes charging, i dodge his attack... but then!!! he did another attack and caught us off guard, he took me down...the next guy got ported in, oryx charged, they all dodge the attack, then he spins around and double slams one of the other guys!! the 4 remaining guys finish the shadow, go to run the last relic run, oryx slams his fist, the relic runner was unable to pick up the start orb!! WIIIIPE and many people left the game!

The Oryx fight is actually quite easy..its just soooo laggy and full of cheese, this is what makes it difficult!!

Also had my first experience of the Knights Strategy.. I actually think its quicker and safer than the no knight strat! But does require a more co-ordinated effort!

Awesome drops for you both - well done!

Mastodon2 - told you it was worth starting to run Hard mode :-)

Wuddie - that is a hard thing to take on a final Oryx run like that!!

I'm hoping to get on tonight and get the challenge done...if we manage to carry on and take down Oryx then that will be great, if not then that's fine too.

Had another good night on oryx, started at the oryx checkpoint with some randoms, 1 run, first Titan dies at the first bombs, we 5 man it from there and kick oryx in to outer space in double time!!

Then I got lew and morphies in as a couple of people left and we started again from the totems..

Lost count of the gear I got I had a couple 320 stuff, and some 310+ stuff

All in all I'm nudging closer to 320 now..

Oh yeah!! A 319 black spindle is devestating btw smile infused from some of the drops I had.

I can only imagine the Black Spindle becomes ridiculous as it is pushed above 300 - mine is 298 and the damage it can output is nothing short of ridiculous. I expect I'll be infusing mine up to 308 or so this weekend.

I will have a go at Golgoroth on hard this weekend and hopefully the sisters and Oryx too, I want to see what my 310 ToM can do to them - I imagine it's probably not worth infusing that any higher unless I have a large surplus of 310+ items at any point, as it is a rather limited tool in it's usefulness?

In other news, I've been having a riot with my Harrowed Qullim's Terminus, it is such a satisfying gun to use.

Has anyone picked up a Telesto this weekend, or got one in their vault? I bought it from Xur - it's great fun, 23 strange coins well spent. It's rather similar to the needler weapon from Halo in a sense, where you're loading an enemy up with the projectiles that then explode - the splash damage range and output is significant too, tagging one weak enemy in a crowd can score some pretty big multikills. The shot grouping is tight and the charge is pretty fast, the weapon feels light and easy to use and it's a great thing to look at, totally unique and I love the charge indicator housed within the transparent bubble on the rear of the weapon that fills up as you hold the trigger in. It will never be a boss stomper as it can't crit and you'd never use it for your exotic choice when room-clearing is the order of the day as you'd take Bad Juju or Zhalo Supercell over it any day, but it's a novel, interesting and fun weapon to use where out and out competitiveness is not required.

I also bought another legacy engram hoping for a No Land Beyond, but only got a Dreg's Promise, which is a fun gun to use in the sense that it's a Dreg's pistol and that is worth a go in itself, but the damage output is poor, it tears through it's ammo and frankly isn't even close to being as justifiable to use as other year one weapons. The Queenbreakers Bow for example, can still cut it in patrol even with 170 damage, but the Dreg's Promise feels like a peakshooter - not the fault of the gun itself but the class, Bungie just don't know what to do with sidearms to make them useful, they're a total non-class or hopeless, rubbish guns. I broke the Promise and now I've got a 306 Spindle.

I've had a telestro for a while and yes your right it wouldn't be your go to weapon for the exotic but lately I've used the hawksaw and this and it rocks.

The raid is real! I dropped in to a hard raid at Golgoroth, took a few goes to get over some silly mistakes and we pounded him out on the 4th try, he dropped me some tasty Harrowed Path of Xol boots at 316, then we carried on to the daughters and blew them out after a few goes, one phase on each. I was relic runner which I normally don't enjoy doing but I got a quick run, slam dunked the relic from orbit and gave us loads of time to get the first phase done. The second sister had another runner who fumbled his slam dunk so we cut it close, but we dropped her with 2 seconds on the clock. The sisters dropped me a 306 Bond of Wormlore and a 314 Harrowed Silence of A'arn - pretty chuffed with that last piece in particular. Not massively useful in a lot of situations, yet I've wanted one badly since I first saw them.

Once we had done the sisters a few people commented that we had no Titans and therefore we wouldn't be able to beat Oryx, a few guys left and the raid party collapsed. I've never done Oryx on hard before, what makes Titans so crucial, is it the Weapons of Light in the DPS phases?

I'll try and have a crack at Oryx tomorrow night before the reset.

Sparrow racing league starts on Tuesday buddy smile

Mastodon, it depends what strategy is being implemented, for no knight strat 2x Titans with blessings is needed ( saying that I've 5 man'd the no knight strat with me as the lone Titan),if you are doing the knight strat then you can get away with one Titan.

Go watch some YouTube vids of the different strats so you are roughly aware of what is about to happen

Yeah..sparrow racing...I did kind of want it...but as the ONLY DLC/thing?

I haven't figured out the microtransactions yet. The main one seems to be buying a record book which keeps your stats but also means you can drop "better" gear. It seems a bit confused as to whether the sparrow gear is cosmetic only (like masks) or genuine armour that you can upgrade to higher light.

There is possibly both, but then it's not clear what you need to do to get one or the other.

The book also acts like access to an iron banner event, it gives you more bounties and tracks your rep over the 3 week period. Presumably gear packages could drop when you hit certain ranks.

I'm waiting to see the details.

I saw the Sparrow racing trailer the other day. What a load of cack. The rumour was that Bungie were going to drip feed content in for free now that TTK was out, until the release of Destiny 2. It better not all be as bad as this tat.

Bungie could easily pad out what we have by offering end game enhancement in old content. All the old missions, strikes and raids should be preserved at their original level and then given a Level 41 option along with current gear drops. That'd draw players back in and give us something more to do.

So their aren't two more expansions? I saw on reddit that it'd been rumoured but I've been out of the loop RE Destiny news.

Yes, the rumours were that there would be two more expansions in the mould of HOW and TDB, but available free. I think we could be looking at Destiny 2 in Q4 next year with two expansions before then.

The sparrow racing thing is like a bad joke. Bungie really need to get their act together and find a way to make all the dead content in the game valid again - I'm talking about the lower level strikes, the old raids, PoE etc. Make the old content drop strange coins, increased exotic chance, let year 1 raid gear drop at 280 so we can infuse it into useful year 2 gear if we want etc. There is so much they could be doing, instead they're wasting time and money developing fking sparrow racing.

I've been doing the jolly holiday quest for the exotic shotgun, what a ball ache! I hate the last word...

Finally done both the crucible parts, just need to finish the strike now.

Nothing left to do, so just finishing quests....

I had a go at Oryx hard tonight, what a nightmare. We ran the sequence strat where each platform player has a number in the sequence, I was platform one so I was the first up after Oryx slammed his first down, maybe this was an error as my chest piece is only 297 and a few times I just got absolutely shredded, particularly when I started trying to pick up the slack for the rest of my team; we tried killing the ogres - some of the guys said it was no problem and as the lowest light on the team at 310 I thought I'd be letting the side down but in the end I was clearing my knight, killing the second ogre and killing the knight from that too, before moving to the middle and trying to help the other side or to stop the vessel of Oryx marauding about. Everyone said they'd done it before but no one seemed to be able to clear the enemies, ho hum.

We tried the no knight strat and that seemed to work well in terms of having everyone ready to DPS Oryx and then do the bombs but again, I was getting wrecked by the ogres and acolyte eyes that were spawning out of control while the runner was in the air but with this strat we could do the first DPS phase on Oryx effectively, but my bobblehead team just couldn't seem to reset ready for the second phase, people were scrapping with adds, going to the wrong platforms etc. It was a mess and after a while some of the guys dropped. You'd think we could have recruited more but the LFG was remarkably quiet given how close we were to a reset.

I think to progress I need to run the raid on hard as all of my guns are 310+, but my 304 shell and crucially my 297 chest piece is holding me back. I'll run it on hard but swap to normal to beat Oryx and hopefully get a chest piece of higher light to boost my defence so I can take a few more hits on hard Oryx. It's a right pain as the raid feels no harder on heroic mode than it did on normal mode for the most part, then you fight Oryx and it seems to be on another level of difficulty altogether.
