k's sake, this is going to be totally miserable. Great job on the raid again tonight guys, as per the usual once Glenn left we cracked it in a few goes. The last run at Oryx looked like a bust, as the English LFG lad died after the first orb but we managed to five man it with little drama. That's the raid done with all my characters, but Lew still needs to do the totems with one of his characters and I need to do Warpriest with my titan so I'll be back at Kings Fall at the weekend. My main plan is to be hammering the Nightfall until a Baron's Ambition drops.

Top tip - people only tend to record when THEY've done well - so you may be on the receiving end of some shennanigans.

Anyway, it's Lost to Light as the daily heroic today, Lew expressed some interest in running that as a challenge, see how much easier it is with endgame light, as most of us did it in the 290s first time round. There is a rare ship too. Glenn need not apply, since he gets all the good gear and probably already has two.
You're probably already in the game but the ship can only drop the first time each char does the mission...so you have exactly 3 chances for it to drop, after that you're SOOL.
Kotaku has another good story up on the latest state of Destiny. Sounds like there may be a significant new something this year, but Destiny 2 will not be out this year.
Amusingly their PvP lead designer stated just before Christmas that no changes had been made to MM in crucible, but actually their network guys had turned it on and not told anyone - including the rest of Bungie. They have now admitted that in their BWU yesterday.

Another fruitless day of grinding for the Baron's Ambition machine gun yesterday, I've had 4 of those bloody Warlock helmets now, it's the damn gun I want. I did finally get a Super Good Advice from a 3OC drop from S.A.B.E.R-2, which I'm chuffed with. I've had probably 10 Truths, 10 Dragon's Breath and 5 Thunderlords and this is my first SGA - given the drop probability of getting SGA from an exotic heavy engram is theoretically 1/4, those figures just don't stack up.
wuddie, are we doing Trials tonight? I'm up for that misery again, I want those sweet, sweet bounties.

Well, Trials was the usual blowout but we got the bounties in - once again wuddie had all the luck with a 310 Red Death dropping from his silver tier. I did get the Doctrine of Passing auto rifle, which is cool I suppose, but in the grand scheme of things not very useful.
Thinking I'd wasted my day on Trials when I should have been doing the nightfall, I brought in Morph's mate Grunt to be the third man while me and Transient Nova did the legwork through one last stab at the nightfall thinking I may not get a chance tomorrow night. You shouldn't write that doctrine off tho, it's one of the best auto rifles in Pvp once you've got the stability maxed!!

Got the chest, legs and class item at 5 wins all over 300 light, and then got the binary dawn shotgun at 7 wins.
Slowly getting closer to visiting the lighthouse!!!

I'm on a roll, carried Baryonyx and another through the nightfall and then went onto a vanguard heroic strike, only went and dropped a Treads Upon Stars with crowd control and firefly - not a bad roll at all, in fact it's a bloody good one. Now infused to 310, according to the Destiny infusion calculator if I put my 314 and 320 raid assault rifles into it I should end up with a 320 Treads, which will be a monster.
wuddie, you were right about the Doctrine of Passing, it's a bit of a beast. I've got smallbore on it, which is pretty much the only gun in the game that perk makes sense on - it's very, very stable for the ROF and melts majors and regular adds. It does struggle against top end enemies though, due to it's pathetic impact.
Baron's Ambition is fantastic too, the stability is through tha roof. It's the only machine gun I've found that can come close to matching the Harrowed Qullim's Terminus. Terminus edges it for raids, simply because of the cocoon perk, but the Ambition is a monster in it's own right.
