Anyone expecting to be using their pre-order Gjallarhorn tonight will be disappointed to find that you need to first drop an actual year 3 Gjallarhorn in the game before you can equip the iron Gjallarhorn, until you do that the iron version is redundant and a waste of inventory space. Back to the vault for you, thanks Bungie.
They did say that originally - the pre-order bonus is not much more than a skin, for when you have found the gun in the game. You cannot collect the gun out of the postmaster until you have the original. No vault space taken.
The gjallarhorn is unlocked via a quest this time - so it wont be the crazy loot grind like it was last time. Expect it to be a hard quest though!
After a fruitful 90 minutes in the tower, I am now 349.5 light, and yes the 0.5 is important to me! :-)
Vendor gear is 350 so I could buy most of a set, I also got lucky with a couple of packages. Interestingly old engrams are now dropping new loot at new light levels, so I've got a ready supply of light increases to grind through. I also accidentally tipped my crucible rank over last night, but I picked up the package today and that was also at new light levels.
Haven't actually got any new gear yet! Nothing I saw looked that exciting so I just infused it into my current setup.
Blue engrams seem to be capped at 340...well I've had 5 or 6 and they all dropped at that.
In terms of light increase I'm kind of stuck until I get a new artifact, as that is "only" 340. That means my overall light is relatively low compared to the rest of my gear so popping engrams is only getting me gear 1 light higher than I already have (rather than 4-5 higher).
I've got to fly now...hopefully my hotel room will have half decent internet and I can connect to the TV!?!? Otherwise I'm going to have a frustrating few days...
Heroic strikes are now 350 light (which seems higher than previously where the light was set below vendor levels not at them) and the nightfall is 360 light.
I reckon that getting to 360/370 shouldn't be too bad, depending on RNG.

I know there is the raid to come and some additonal quest lines but £25 seems a lot of money for not a great deal of game...
I had an exotic drop..... a primary engram.... I was so excited..... it dropped from the new Sepiks strike I thought it must be good.....
